Patrick stared at her intently and said to Lena, “Get out
Lena’s face hardened. “What are you doing?”
“I said get out!” Patrick’s voice carried unmistakable anger.

Lena bit her lip, her expression pained and reluctant. Patrick finally glanced at her, his tone slightly softer.
“Wait for me outside the door.”
Only then did Lena leave.
Alone with Patrick, Louisa maintained her composure. What is this about, Mr. Taylor?”
Patrick fixed his eyes on her. “Ms. Forbes, you’re quite the actress. You almost had me fooled.”
Louisa laughed lightly, still calm. “I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean.”
“Today was supposed to be when the Tudor Group released our funds,” Patrick said. “Instead, they suddenly sent you for an inspection. We initially thought Mr. Tudor had decided against approving our loan.
nonchalant attitude, you dispelled our suspicions,
“Ms. Forbes, you’re clever. With a few casual words and making us believe this was truly just a routine check unrelated to the loan. If it weren’t for…” He abruptly stopped himself, then glared at Louisa with menacing eyes. “Why are you really here?”
“Like you said–a routine inspection, which I’ve now completed. If you hadn’t blocked my path, I would already be gone,” Louisa replied calmly, despite her growing internal panic.
Patrick didn’t believe her for a second. “Ms. Forbes, you came alone and remains so composed–truly admirable courage. If our boss hadn’t called to say your people were deliberately delaying our loan. payment, I might have believed your nonsense.”
Neil, that idiot. Even his stalling tactics were transparent, Louisa cursed inwardly.
“Tell me, why are you investigating us?” Patrick demanded.
Louisa smiled. “I don’t understand what you mean. Why would I investigate you?”
“Are you still acting at this point?” Patrick gave a cold ugh, his expression turning vicious. “You’ve already discovered something about us and halted our ban. Do you really think I’ll let you leave with that

information?”
With that, he turned and locked the door.
Louisa watched him warily. “What are you doing?”
Patrick sneered. “Isn’t it a bit late to be concerned about that now?”

Meanwhile, it was past noon when Julian concluded his meeting with the client.
Teddy, not wanting to delay, immediately entered the office to report Louisa’s situation. Before he could
speak, the sound of high heels clicking against the floo echoed from outside.
Then came the secretary’s voice, “Ms. Hughes, Mr. Tudo is busy. Please let me announce you first.”
“There’s no time.” Teresa brushed off the comment and pushed open the door to the CEO’s office.
Julian was sitting at his desk reviewing documents. Without looking up, he said coldly, “You’re becoming
increasingly impolite.”
“I don’t have time for politeness right now,” Teresa snapped, fuming.
She had initially ignored Louisa, assuming she was just seeking attention. She never expected Louisa would
actually go to Aurora Media Group alone.
Teresa couldn’t allow such recklessness and had come straight to report it.
Hearing her anger, Julian looked up and gave her an icy stare. “This is not the place for your temper tantrums. If you’re upset, step outside and compose yourself before returning.”
Teresa felt a stab of pain in her heart. She looked at him with wounded eyes. Was he really this cold toward
her? Wouldn’t he even ask what had happened?
Her pain deepened as she spoke bluntly, “Mr. Tudor, whatever woman you’re interested in, arrange her however you want outside, but please don’t let her wreak havoc in my Investment Department. She’s
created complete chaos. How am I supposed to manage”
Everyone present understood who she was referring to.
Julian’s gaze grew even colder. “Teresa, it’s not your place to question my decisions. And the Investment

Department isn’t yours. If you can’t manage it, go back home and be the rich little princess you are!‘
Teresa nearly lost her balance, staring at him in disbelie. He would speak to her so harshly for Louisa? Tears quickly gathered in her eyes.
Julian remained unmoved. ‘If you re going to cry, do it outside.”
Teresa felt even more wronged, her entire body trembling.

Fearing further delay, Teddy quickly intervened, ‘Ms. Hughes, you’re upset about Ms. Forbes, are you? I was just about to report this matter to Mr. Tudor.”
At the mention of Louisa’s name, Julian’s hand paused mid–signature. “What about her?”
Teddy promptly explained everything that had happened that morning.
Julian showed little reaction initially, until he heard that Louisa had gone to investigate alone. His brows furrowed deeply.
“Neil didn’t release the funds, but we can’t reach Ms. Forbes now. Her phone is going straight to voicemail. I’m afraid… Teddy couldn’t finish the sentence as he watched his boss’s expression grow increasingly grim.
“Why wasn’t I informed of this immediately?” Julian rebuked, rising from his seat and heading for the door.
“Prepare the car!”
Teresa, seeing his concern, was too angry for words and quickly followed.
Teddy hurriedly took out his phone to call Bob, but before he could dial, an incoming call came through
from the front desk downstairs.
After hearing just one sentence, Teddy frowned. “Why is he here?”
Teresa instinctively asked, “Who?”
Ignoring her, Teddy addressed Julian, “Mr. Tudor, George Capulet is here. He’s insisting on seeing you.
Should I arrange a meeting with him?”
