Louisa awoke to the sound of crashing waves. Looking around, she found herself still in the finance department room, though now her hands and feet were bound and her mouth sealed with tape.
The waves she heard were coming from the open window nearby.
She recalled what happened before losing consciousness–she’d been alone with Patrick when he struck her, knocking her
out.
Everything after that remained a mystery. Judging by the sun’s position outside, she estimated it was a little past one o’clock.
By now, Julian must have received news of her situation. He would come to rescue her–she couldn’t explain why, but she simply believed he would.
Until then, all she could do was buy time or try to save herself.
She glanced around the room. Patrick was nowhere to be seen–only Lena remained, eating nearby while watching her.
Louisa knew Lena was relatively kind–hearted. If she was going to manipulate anyone, it would have to be her.
She kicked the chair in front of her to make noise. When Lena turned to look, Louisa gestured toward her bowl of food.
“You want something to eat?” Lena asked, and Louisa nodded.
“I only have this one portion, and I’ve already eaten half,” Lena said after a moment’s consideration.
“You’ll have to make do with this milk. Don’t worry; it’s fresh.” She placed a milk with a straw in front of Louisa, then ripped the tape off her mouth.
“Thank you,” Louisa said gratefully.
Lena paused her eating. “I’m keeping you tied up here against your will, and you’re thanking me?” her voice heavy with
confusion.
Louisa smiled slightly. “Patrick tied me up, not you.”
“But we’re on the same side.”
Louisa didn’t respond to that. She took a sip of milk before speaking casually, “People say Patrick is Aurora Media Group CEO Judith’s boyfriend, but you’re actually Patrick’s girlfriend, aren’t you? Or rather, his wife.”

Lena looked at her in shock. “How did you know that?”
“Just a guess.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“I didn’t just guess your relationship,” Louisa continued, her tone relaxed as if chatting with a friend. “I can also guess that you have a child together–less than a year old, right?”
Unwittingly drawn into her rhythm, Lena asked in disbelief, “How could you possibly know that?” No one at Aurora Media Group knew about the child, let alone an outsider.
Louisa took another sip of milk. “When I first arrived, you were hostile toward me, but when I twisted my ankle, you
helped me. This suggests you’re inherently kind. Your hostility comes from Patrick, am I right?”
Lena was too stunned to speak. She nodded passively.
“As for your child,” Louisa continued, “I noticed a strong breast milk scent when I was near you–a scent only nursing
mothers have. So I guessed your child is less than a year old.”
She paused briefly before continuing, “I don’t know how Patrick ended up with Judith, but I can imagine he saw an opportunity in her and deliberately seduced her, who didn’t refuse.
“Patrick wanted to use her to climb the ladder, so he concealed your existence.”
Louisa’s voice softened. “Even though you were angry and resentful, you couldn’t do

“So you compromised and stayed with him. Later, he brought you to Aurora Media Group too. Am I right?”
Lena was completely shocked. After a long moment, she looked at Louisa with disbelief. “How did you know it was him who seduced Judith, and not the other way around?”
Louisa smiled lightly. “I’ve never met Judith and know nothing about her. But I can tell Patrick has this strange self- confidence and is quite flirtatious–the type who falls for every beautiful woman he sees.”
Lena was speechless because Louisa had guessed everything correctly. Gradually, a pained expression appeared on her face.
Louisa recognized that expression all too well–she had once been trapped in the same kind of pain George had inflicted on her. After a moment, she looked up and met Lena’s eyes.
“Patrick isn’t worth your love,” she said gently. “His nature won’t change, and he’ll only cause you endless pain. Even if you compromise for your child’s sake, that pain will never end.

Chapter 93
“Women need to love themselves properly. Only when you give yourself enough love and confidence can you truly care for your child. Otherwise, your child won’t gain respect from your compromises–they’ll just repeat your tragedy.”
Lena suddenly felt unsteady on her feet. Her child was her greatest vulnerability.
Seeing Lena’s reaction, Louisa knew her words had hit home. Instead of pressing further, she waited for Lena’s response.
After a while, Lena mumbled, “But I don’t have the ability to care for my child on my own. I can only rely on him…”
“If you don’t have confidence in yourself, how can you have any ability?” Louisa replied. She slowly analyzed the situation. “Patrick is finished now. He and Judith conspired together, and Aurora Media Group is done for. Mr. Tudor won’t let them
off.
“But your hands are clean. Why wait until they drag you down too? Think about your child–if both of you end up in
prison, what will happen to your baby?”
Lena finally realized what was happening. She looked at Louisa with sudden clarity. “You’re trying to
you, aren’t you?”
get me to release
Louisa didn’t deny it, nor did she panic at having her intentions exposed. She even maintained her smile. “Yes, I want that. But whether you release me or not doesn’t matter much. I estimate Mr. Tudor will arrive in a few minutes, and I’ll be
rescued anyway.
“Your situation is different, though. If you come to your senses now and help me testify against them, I can not only save your life but also ensure your child wants for nothing for the rest of their life.”
Her eyes locked with Lena’s. “Otherwise, you’ll end up in hell along with Patrick and Judith.”
