Louisa stared at Judith in disbelief. What nonsense was this? Was she supposed to have orchestrated setting herself on fire? This kind of illogical stupidity–surely Teresa wouldn’t actually believe it.
But Teresa, proving herself equally foolish, latched onto Judith’s ridiculous story.
She shot Louisa a venomous glare filled with hatred. “Louisa, Ms. Murphy wasn’t even back when you disappeared. How long are you going to keep falsely accusing her? Did you stage this whole drama just so everyone could watch you seduce men?”
Louisa fell silent. Had Teresa completely lost her mind?
A thought flashed through her head–could Teresa be the mastermind behind all this? No, that didn’t make sense either. Someone of Teresa’s position had no reason to do something so underhanded and dirty.
Which left only one possibility: Judith was using Teresa, deflecting blame elsewhere.
Since she had no grudge against Teresa, Louisa kept her tone reasonably calm. “Ms. Hughes, I suggest you avoid being manipulated so easily. If you give me just a few minutes, I can explain everything that happened-”
“Shut your mouth!” Teresa couldn’t take it anymore and shouted at Louisa with reddened eyes. “I have eyes.
I can see what’s happening without you telling me what to think!”
She watched Louisa playing the damsel in distress to win Julian’s sympathy while simultaneously acting
superior to everyone else. Teresa wanted nothing more than to lunge forward and tear that face apart.
Meanwhile, Judith smiled smugly from the sidelines. Love–blinded people were so easy to manipulate. She
had effortlessly positioned Teresa as her human shield.
Julian, who had been quiet until now, noticed the fleeting glint of malice and calculation in Judith’s eyes.
He addressed Teresa in a stern, commanding voice, “Have you had enough of this spectacle? I think you’re
the one who needs to shut up!”
Louisa had already warned her–she was being manipulated. Was she really going to let herself be used by a venomous woman and still think herself clever? Truly hopeless.
Teresa hadn’t expected him to defend Louisa again. She trembled with hatred while giving Julian a
wounded, pitiful look.

Louisa finally understood–the investment director wasn’t concerned about company matters at all. Teresa was jealous of Julian’s concern for her.
In that moment, Louisa was speechless. Seriously? At a time like this? Besides, she and Julian had nothing beyond a professional relationship. What did Teresa even have to be jealous about?
With this realization, her lips curved into a mocking half–smile as she addressed Teresa. “Ms. Hughes, unlike you, my head isn’t filled with romantic fantasies. If you still have any awareness of your position as Investment Director, close your mouth now and listen carefully to how I managed to keep your job!”
Though delivered with a smile, her words carried undeniable power and sharpness. Teresa was intimidated into silence, her lips quivering.
Louisa couldn’t be bothered with Teresa anymore. She turned to Judith, her gaze suddenly razor–sharp. “Ms. Murphy, you’ve tried every trick to drag Ms. Hughes into this mess. Did you really think this would help you cover up your forged credentials and embezzlement of company funds?”
Judith’s composure crumbled at her words. How did Louisa know about this? She immediately tried to
object.
Louisa gave her no chance to speak, asking instead, “Three months ago, you spent two weeks recovering in
the hospital due to exhaustion, correct?”
“How do you know that?” Judith asked instinctively.
Louisa let out a soft laugh. “During your hospital stay, you met this director Patrick–though he wasn’t a director then, just an unemployed man. But you were captivated by his good looks and fell for him, didn’t
you?
“Patrick knew exactly how to charm women. After two weeks of constant attention, you were completely smitten. So you forged credentials for him, arranged a position at your company, and appointed this Patrick as your project manager with a fabricated monthly salary of 500,000. But what was the reality?”
At this point, Louisa paused, looking around at all the management staff of Aurora Media Group before continuing calmly, “This Mr. Taylor earns more than anyone else here. But nobody knew he never even graduated college, let alone had any relevant certifications or experience, did they?
“Far from creating value for the company, he rarely ever showed up. Most of the time, he and Ms. Murphy were living extravagantly in underground casinos, squandering money…”
Louisa fixed her gaze on Judith. “Am I right, Ms. Murphy?”

The cascade of revelations left Judith barely able to stand. She couldn’t understand how Louisa had
uncovered these secrets in just a few hours. These were matters unknown even to most of her company’s
employees.
When Louisa exposed everything, many people in the room were visibly shocked. They had known Patrick and Judith had a special relationship, but no one realized they frequented casinos, squandering the Tudor
Group’s investment funds.
Julian, who had been silent on the sidelines, could tell from everyone’s expressions that this was news to
many.
He glanced down at Louisa, this sharp–eyed, determined woman, with a flicker of confusion. These were Aurora Media Group’s private matters–how did she know?
Meanwhile, Judith recovered her wits, realizing Louisa couldn’t possibly know these things. This might all be speculation–she was bluffing to trick a confession.
So she immediately objected loudly, “That’s not true! You’re just guessing, trying to impress Mr. Tudor. You’re trying to force a confession, but where’s your proof of any of this?”
Louisa remained calm and collected, completely in control. She smiled at Judith–a gentle smile–and said slowly, “Did you really think I have no evidence?”
