After the Cold Marriage His Crazy Love (Iris and Julian) novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111 Going Home

His hot breath fanned over Iris’s skin, making her tremble slightly.

Her heart was racing, and her legs went weak from Julian’s touches and kisses. She could barely stand.

Julian’s voice was deep and cold. “Are you really set on divorcing me?”

Iris didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”

“Because of him?”

“I don’t know who you’re talking about.” Iris explained calmly, “There’s no one else between us. I just don’t love you anymore. I’m tired of it. I had enough. I just want a divorce.”

Julian laughed bitterly, lifting his head from her neck. His red eyes were filled with mist, his gaze cold with disappointment. His handsome face looked haggard and worn. He whispered in a slow, hoarse voice, “Iris, why not just kill me? If I’m gone, you’ll be free too.”

“Julian, we’re both adults. Stop saying these angry things.” Iris clenched her fist in frustration, her tone growing colder. “Stop pretending to be so loving. We got married after knowing each other for less than three months. It was way too hasty. We’re just not right for each other. These two years of marriage are the best proof.”

“It’s my fault.”

“We just didn’t love each other. No one’s right or wrong.”

Julian let his hands drop weakly, stepping back two steps. “Just not loving each other? Yeah, just not loving each other. So what’s wrong with you wanting a divorce?”

A bitter, self-mocking smile tugged at his lips. He stumbled a little as he turned and walked out of the

room.

Watching Julian’s figure disappear, the tears in Iris’s eyes finally spilled over, sliding down her pale cheeks.

She pressed her lips together, wiped the tears away, and rushed over to close the door. She leaned back against the door, tilting her head back weakly. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her chest ached sharply.

She always thought she was tough, that she’d seen it all, stopped loving him, and moved on. But why did it still hurt? Why did she still feel reluctant?

Deep down, she had loved him. She was still stuck in this cold marriage, and it would take time to fully

move on.

divorce, Iris was sure she would be okay.

a place, Iris wanted to find a suitable research institute first. She hoped her workplace to where she lived.

Chapter 171 Going Home

But she couldn’t stay with Julian during this time. She didn’t want anything to go wrong.

Zoe lived with her parents and brother. Iris couldn’t crash there.

Her other friends weren’t that close. She didn’t want to bother them.

After thinking for a long time, the only place she could think of was her parents’ house.

The research institute had to move before August. It was already June, so she would only have to bother her family for about a month.

Her family would find out about the divorce sooner or later. Iris didn’t plan to hide it.

It was noon on the weekend.

Iris bought gifts and the building blocks Frank loved, then went back to her parents’ house.

Her parents had come back from their trip. They didn’t know that Frank’s broken arm was from Emily hitting him.

Ethan had begged her not to call the police, not to press charges, and not to tell their parents.

Out of respect for Ethan, she held back her anger and let Emily off this time. If it happened again, no one could stop her-no matter who begged.

In the bright living room, her parents, Ethan, and Emily were all there. Frank was at kindergarten.

Iris took a deep breath, gathered her courage, and said calmly, “I’m getting a divorce from Julian. I haven’t found a place yet, so I want to come back and stay for a while. It won’t be long, just about a month.”

“A divorce?” Her parents were shocked.

Emily’s lips curved into a sneer. Her expression turned a little dark, like she was upset about Iris moving back, but she didn’t say no.

Ethan felt sorry and worried. “Iris, did Julian do something to hurt you? Tell me, and I won’t let him get away with it.”

“Ethan, nothing happened. I just don’t want to be with him anymore,” Iris hurried to explain.

Keith pulled out a cigarette irritably, put it in his mouth, lit it, and said, “If you want a divorce, then get one. There are so many rich guys out there. You’re young and pretty. Even if you remarry, you’ll have no trouble finding someone new.”

Grace nodded in agreement. “Yeah, your dad’s right. You’ve been married to him for two years, and he never gave us a penny for support, not even a gift. He’s cheap and stingy. Find someone else. You’re beautiful. Find someone richer.”
