Chapter 115 Blurry Morning
Iris sat on the bed and shook Julian’s arm gently. “Julian. Julian…”
He didn’t move a muscle. His breathing was soft and steady.
Iris figured he was too drunk. He’d probably sleep until noon the next day.
She lay down slowly on her side, pulled the thin blanket over herself, and looked at Julian next to her. Her heart was all jumbled up, full of mixed feelings.
He looked really good when he slept. His features were deep and sharp, with clean angles.
Iris couldn’t help but reach out and touch his eyebrows. Her fingertips traced his thick, nice eyebrows, then brushed the tiny mole under his eye.
The mole would easily slip unnoticed without a close look.
It was light, small, and really charming.
It added a little charm to his already beautiful eyes.
Folks say those with moles beneath their eyes cry easily.
She never believed that before. Not until she brought up the divorce and saw Julian cry. That’s when she realized this man, who seemed so tough, had a soft, gentle heart.
But why did he cry?
Did he not want to let her go? Or did he not want their marriage to end?
There was no real proof for either question.
Right after they got married, he avoided her and drank every single night.
Now that they were getting a divorce, he was drinking again.
It was so hard to figure out.
Iris turned off the light, closed her eyes, and carefully inched closer to Julian.
She was just inches from him. She gently touched his hard, warm hand and pressed her cheek against his shoulder.
His body was so warm. It had a light, nice smell, mixed with a little alcohol. It smelled really good.
She didn’t know if all clean guys smelled like this, but Julian always did.
She loved Julian’s smell.
It was a physical thing. She thought she’d never forget Julian’s one-of-a-kind scent, no matter what.

Iris’s heart was a mess, a little sour.

Lying next to him, she felt empty. She wanted to curl up in his arms, wanted him to hold her tight.
This physical pull was harder to break than a drug habit.
But she had to leave tomorrow morning.
She’d wasted two years on this relationship and worn herself out for two years. Cutting her losses now was the only way to keep from falling deeper.
Frederick’s tricks to push her into a divorce were just the last straw.
In the end, she’d completely given up hope on this marriage.
The AC was set to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It was comfortable for Iris, and she slowly drifted off to sleep.
But that temperature was too hot for Julian. He was young and full of energy, especially after drinking.
Iris was half-asleep when Julian next to her suddenly sat up.
It scared her wide awake.
The sky outside was grayish white. Dawn was just breaking, with thick fog. The room felt fuzzy.
Julian quickly pulled off his shirt, threw it next to the bed, and fell back down. He kicked off the blanket and rolled over.
His arms and legs were long. They landed on Iris’s body.
She tensed up, fully awake now. Her breathing sped up, her heart beating faster and faster.
His thigh was so heavy.
Iris held her breath, slowly pushed his thigh and hand away, and turned her back to him.
His hand wrapped around her waist again.
Julian was half-asleep. Instinctively, he hugged the soft, warm thing in front of him and pulled it into his
arms.
It hit her like a ton of bricks.
Iris’s whole body went stiff, her heart pounding.
Her blood felt like it was freezing. She didn’t dare breathe, her body shaking in his arms.
This was crazy!
I was morning. This was way too scary.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm down. He’d drunk so much last night. He probably wasn’t fully awake yet.

Julian was still half-asleep. Holding something soft and fragrant, his nose filled with the scent he’d been wanting, he felt a physical urge. His eyelids were heavy, his mind fuzzy, but his body reacted on its own.
