Everyone froze at the sudden noise, their eyes locked on the patient as she slowly sat up in the hospital bed.

Ursa’s eyes went wide. She was so stunned she couldn’t form a single word.

The woman in the bed was not Sabrina.

She was about the same size, but Ursa had never seen her before in her life.

Ursa’s voice cracked as she shouted, “Who are you? Why are you in this room?”

The woman ignored her, turning instead to the doorway. Her tone was crisp and respectful. “Mr. Newton, you can come in now.”

Ursa was still reeling when Raymond strode into the room.

She stumbled back, her voice trembling. “How are you here? What is going on?”

Raymond’s face was cold, his eyes burning with fury. He walked right up to Ursa and slapped her so hard she hit the ground.

Ursa screamed as she blacked out.

The syringe she had just been holding slipped from her limp fingers.

The woman in the bed calmly picked up the syringe and handed it to Raymond. “Mr. Newton, your suspicions were correct. Ms. Newton has been drugging Sabrina all along.

“Today, the IV wasn’t even connected to Sabrina–it was hooked to a machine. As soon as she injected too much, the alarm went off.

“I’ll take this syringe for analysis. Sabrina is safe, in another room, under guard, and she’s fine.”

Raymond nodded, and the woman exited the room.

Raymond had always suspected something was wrong. Sabrina’s condition only ever took a turn for the worse when he was away, then stabilized whenever he returned.

He had posted guards at the door. No one except Newton family members or medical staff could enter. After a full investigation, he ruled out the doctors and nurses. That left only someone from his own family. He kept quiet and laid a trap, announcing to everyone that he had business out of town.

Sure enough, Ursa had walked right into it.

Raymond looked down at Ursa’s unconscious body, then turned to Eden.

“Lock her up. If Hillary contacts her, keep the conversation going. Don’t let her suspect a thing.”

Eden nodded. “Yes, Mr. Newton. Also, Ms. Foster–she’s close to Ms. Sinclair–has been talking a lot with Ms. Young and Ms. Newton.”

Raymond’s eyes narrowed. “Understood. Go pull a few of the tubes on that Nolan kid.”

Terror had her in a vice. She prayed over and over for Ethan to survive.

It turned out to be a false alarm. Ethan barely made it, but his heart rate finally stabilized.
