“He doesn’t have time for that wench. And I made sure spread rumors that Agnes is having an affair with Neal.
“Said they went on a vacation together. I bet my brother’s going to be furious. He’ll get a divorce!!
Hillary’s eyes sparkled. “Ursa, what are you talking about? Divorce? Try erasing her from the family tree.
Ursa snapped her fingers with a grin. “You’re right, Hillary. I forgot. She’ll be wiped out completely. Hillary, that spot as my sister–in–law is yours. You know you’re the only one I ever wanted.”
Hillary could barely contain her excitement. She lifted her glass, and the three of them toasted again and again, drinking deep into the night.
Raymond kept calling Agnes, but she never answered. Dread crawled through his chest.
Eden soon arrived with an update.
Eden said, “Mr. Newton, Ms. Sinclair recently met with Mrs. Quinn, the wife of Herodotus Quinn from Haanburg. Herodotus Quinn is a big name in Haanburg but he’s been losing money in the market.
“The company is deep in the red, and the stock is tanking.
“Investors have been after him for repayment. He disappeared for a while to hide from his creditors.
“Then, suddenly, he dumped a huge sum into the market, paid back all his debts, and made it all back.
“From what I found, it was Harvey Zeller, a Montara investor, who got him back on his feet.”
Raymond frowned. “And what does that have to do with Agnes going to Velmara?”
Eden hesitated. “Mr. Newton… I also found out that Ms. Young is back in Grandridge.”
Raymond’s eyes narrowed. “She’s back? In Grandridge?”
Eden nodded. “Yes, sir. You had her committed in Montara, but Harvey paid a hefty price to get her out. She did not book the flight under her own name. I suspect Mrs. Quinn might be the one Ms. Young contacted.”
Raymond felt white–hot anger boiling up. Every nerve in his body felt ready to snap.
He fell silent for a long moment, then spoke coldly. “Book me the next flight to Velmara. Keep Hillary under close watch, but do not let her notice.”
Eden nodded. “Yes, Mr. Newton.”
Raymond stood outside Sabrina’s hospital room, his face grim. Sabrina’s condition had finally stabilized, and she was starting to wake up.
He stepped inside and took the seat next to her. Sabrina could speak again, though she sometimes slipped into confusion.
She kept asking why Agnes had not come to see her. She wanted to know if Raymond had chased Agnes away again.
Raymond lied and told Sabrina that Agnes was sick, but he would bring her soon.

That night, Eden booked the flights. As Raymond was about to leave for the airport, the hospital called. Sabrina’s condition had suddenly taken a turn for the worse.
Raymond rushed back, his heart pounding. She had been fine when he left–how could things fall apart so fast?
The hospital ran every test, but no one could find the cause. After a frantic rescue, Sabrina’s vitals stabilized again.
Raymond ordered a full review of the security footage. Everything was normal. No one except the Newton family had entered or left.
The endless cycle of Sabrina’s mysterious relapses left Raymond raw with anxiety. With no word from Agnes, his nerves were shot.
The Newton family took turns caring for Sabrina. Ursa threw herself into the role, acting like the perfect daughter.
She told everyone she regretted her past behavior. She had been working as a janitor at Newton Group, and she insisted she had changed.
Ursa insisted on helping Sabrina wash up every day, determined to prove how devoted she was. Joseph watched her with approval.
That night, Ursa brought a basin of water to the bedside and chatted with Sabrina as she cleaned her up.
The bodyguard stationed outside the room
With her back to the door, Ursa glanced at the sleeve.
