Chapter 20 Unexpected Offer

After Agnes finished cleaning up the house, she started browsing job listings on a hiring website.

Raymond’s words had stung her deeply. She had been a full–time housewife for three years, and he seemed to think that if she left the Newtons, she would end up starving on the streets.

Agnes had only completed two years of college before dropping out. The only qualifications she could present now were a Caelish Proficiency Level 8 Certificate and the ATA Level 1 Translation Certification, both of which she had earned on her own during her spare time.

Agnes thought that even though her lack of a degree might hold her back, those two certificates would at least give her a chance.

She found several well–known Caelish training institutions and submitted her applications along with copies of her certificates.

The next day, she received a call from one of the institutions asking her to come in for an interview.

During the entire interview, Agnes performed very well. Her Caelish was fluent, and she answered every question smoothly. The interviewers all seemed quite satisfied.

Just when Agnes believed she had a very good chance of getting the job, one of the interviewers suddenly looked serious.

“Ms. Sinclair, I see here that in the education section you withdrew from college after two years?”

“Yes. There were some unexpected circumstances in my family, so I had to leave school. But I have the ATA Level 1 certification and the Caelish Proficiency Level 8 certificate. My professional ability is strong, and I believe I can still do this job well,” Agnes replied.
