Agnes' Awakening: From Zero to His Whole World novel Chapter 359

Whenever a lead appeared, no matter the distance, she hurried over to check it out as soon as she received the news.

But the results always fell short. The donated corneas each had some kind of issue.

Agnes would not accept anything imperfect, so she could only continue spending more effort searching.

That day, she suddenly received a call from a hospital.

The hospital informed her that they had located a cornea donor who matched Raymond very well.

The donor had passed away in an accident, and his family had agreed to donate the corneas.

There was only one condition. The family hoped to get some form of compensation.

Agnes understood the implication right away, and she immediately arranged to meet them face to face to talk it through.

At the donor family's request, they decided to meet at a high-end restaurant.

When Agnes arrived, she saw that the ones waiting were a middle-aged couple.

The donor was their son, who had recently died in an accident.

Agnes first bowed politely to them.

"Hello, sir, ma'am. Thank you very much for agreeing to meet me.

"I'm truly sorry for what your son went through."

The couple nodded repeatedly and gestured for Agnes to sit down.

As the woman wiped her tears, she spoke up.

"Ms. Sinclair, our son's sudden passing was a heavy blow to us.

"We worked so hard to raise him, and just as he was beginning his career, he died in a car crash."

Her voice trembled as she cried,

"Boohoo... all our hopes are gone..."

Agnes gently passed her a tissue and spoke softly to comfort her.

"Ma'am, I truly understand your feelings. Anyone in this situation would struggle to accept it.

"But the dead cannot return. Please take care of yourselves and try to endure this pain."

The woman gripped the tissue tightly, her body shaking from sobbing.

"He was our only hope. Now that he's gone, how are we supposed to live on... boohoo..."

Agnes said, "Please do not worry. I will ensure you receive enough compensation and support to satisfy you. I will make sure both of you are cared for for the rest of your lives."

As soon as the woman heard this, she stopped crying.

A spark returned to her dull eyes.

"Ms. Sinclair, we agreed to donate because we want our son to continue existing in this world in another way.

"That way, we can at least have some comfort, something to rely on. We are not doing this for money."

She spoke sincerely, as if afraid of being misunderstood.

Agnes nodded. "Ma'am, I understand. I completely understand, respect, and support your choice."
