She cleaned and dressed the wound with surgical precision.

Rebecca, watching from the bed, asked, “Agnes, did you go to nursing school or something?”

The moment he left, Rebecca pinned Agnes with a devious grin.

Rebecca’s eyes went supernova. “The Ruell Group?! I clocked his car the second he pulled up-I knew he wasn’t normal.

“Agnes! Lock him down! With him, you’re set for this life and the next. I’ll ride your coattails. Sponsor me!”

Agnes said, “Stop talking nonsense. We have nothing going on. We aren’t even ‘regular’ friends; we’ve only

met once.”

Rebecca replied, “Nothing? Please. The entire time you were wrapping his arm, his eyes didn’t leave your face for one second. I saw everything. The man was practically drooling.

“He’s gorgeous, he’s loaded, he saved your life and took a knife for you-if it were me, I’d be throwing myself at him right now.”

Agnes grabbed an apple off the table and shoved it into Rebecca’s mouth.

The next day, Agnes took Rebecca back to the apartment to grab her things. She was moving Rebecca to her own place until further notice.
