Raymond frowned and said gently, “Hillary, calm down. The doctor said you shouldn’t get too emotional. I’ll head back first. Calm yourself down, and I’ll come see you tomorrow
”
Hillary quickly wiped her tears and tries hard to hold back her emotions.
“No, Raymond, don’t go. I won’t get emotional anymore. Please don’t leave. I won’t cry.”
Raymond looked at her, and his heart softened again. He didn’t leave.
Hillary said, “I want to hear the truth. If I hadn’t saved you back then, would you still choose me?”
Raymond stayed silent for a long time. “That’s all in the past. Why bring it up now?”
Hillary felt like she had been punched hard in the heart. She wasn’t satisfied and kept asking, “Did you ever love me?”
A cold look flashed between Raymond’s brows. “Stop talking.”
Hillary said, “I just want to know. Tell me, is everything you did for me just because I saved you back then?
“Is it because you feel guilty? I don’t believe it. We’ve been together for so many years. You never had any feelings for me?”
Raymond stayed silent and didn’t look at Hillary. He felt there was no point in staying longer. He stood up to leave.
“Get some rest. I’ll see you tomorrow. Call me if you need anything.”
Hillary trembled in pain. She didn’t believe it. Even if she died, she wouldn’t believe it. Raymond had to
love her!
It was all because of Agnes. Because of her, Raymond was making things hard and trying to make her give
up!
Hillary screamed, “Raymond! You don’t love Agnes at all! You’re only doing it for the Newtons! I’m not blind and neither is anyone else! I’m not going to Montara! I’ll show you that I’ve really changed. I won’t leave you again!”
Raymond stood at the door, turned his head, and looked at Hillary’s tearful face.
“I didn’t marry her to deal with my family. I chose it myself.”
After saying that, Raymond walked out of the room. He didn’t look back, no matter how much Hillary screamed behind him.
Boom.
Hillary’s world fell apart. It felt like ten thousand arrows were piercing her heart. Her face went pale, and she was almost at the breaking point.

After leaving the hospitak Raymond sat in the car and looked out the window. He had already contacted a hospital in Montara.
He had also deliberately introduced the Newtons’s business in Montara to the Coopers. Felix was his friend and also familiar with Hillary.
He promised to look after Hillary. In reality, Raymond arranged for him to keep an eye on her so she wouldn’t return to Grandridge.
The next day, Agnes helped Rebecca move her things into a newly rented house. They were busy for a long time.
When she got back, she saw a luxury car parked at the entrance of southern–style courtyard.
When he saw her coming closer, the car door opened. Raymond stepped out.
“Where were you? I’ve been waiting for a long time.”
Raymond noticed some dust on Agnes’s hair and raised his hand to brush it off. She instinctively stepped
back.
He felt annoyed, reached out, pulled her in, and gently brushed the dirt off her head.
Agnes asked, “What are you doing here? Have you made up your mind?”
Raymond replied, “What is there to consider? Get in the car. I’m taking you somewhere.”
“I don’t want to go. I’m tired.” Agnes turned and walked toward the door, but the man grabbed her and pushed her into the car.
“What are you doing? Why are you always like this?!” Agnes struggled to get out.
“Sit still!” Raymond ignored her, fastened her seatbelt, and told the driver to start.
“You jerk!” Agnes shouted angrily.
Raymond laughed, “Heh, then what are you? A jerk’s fox.”
Agnes said, “You’re crazy. Where are you taking me?”
Raymond said, “You’ll know when we get there.”
The car sped along the road. Agnes looked out the window, and suddenly, the buildings along the way more and more familiar.
“This is…”
She looked at Raymond in surprise, and he gave a faint smile.
Those familiar houses, the familiar small paths, the familiar scenery. Every part of it held memories of growing up.
