Chapter 90 Truth Comes Crashing Down

“I don’t care if I’m not your girlfriend,” Lucy said. “I’d even be the other woman if I had to.”

Ethan burst out laughing. “Wow, Lucy. I didn’t expect you to be this devoted. I’ve spent a lot of money on you, you know. Do you actually like me or are you just worried your cash cow is about to walk away? Hahaha.”

“I’m serious, Ethan!” Lucy said. “I like you, not your money!”

“Cut the act,” Ethan said coldly. “Do you really think I can’t see through you? We’ve hooked up a few times, that’s all. So tell me, how much do you want?”

Lucy shot to her feet. She grabbed a glass of water from the table and threw it straight in his face. “You jerk!”

After yelling, she ran out of the restaurant in tears. Ethan wiped his face, then calmly sat back down and kept eating, as if nothing had happened.

Agnes was stunned. This was the “good boyfriend” Rebecca kept talking about?

She didn’t know what Ethan really felt about Rebecca. But after what she just heard, it was obvious—he was bad news.

Agnes stood up right away. She had to find Rebecca and tell her everything.

Neal watched her sneaking glances and couldn’t help but smile. He had heard the whole thing from the next table too.

“I didn’t expect you to enjoy gossip this much,” he said with a smile.

Agnes shrugged. “You got me. I like gossip and I don’t mind getting involved either. Neal, thanks for dinner. I’ll treat you next time. I have to go. It’s urgent.”

Neal reached out, wanting to stop her and ask more, but Agnes was already gone, rushing out like a gust of wind.

She was in a hurry. She had to tell Rebecca what she had just heard.

Agnes called Rebecca several times, but there was no answer.

She went to Rebecca’s apartment. No one was there. Then she remembered Rebecca was usually at school around this time.

Without wasting another second, Agnes rushed straight to campus.

As soon as she reached the school gate, she saw a large crowd gathered there. People were talking loudly, packed in tight circles.

Something was wrong. Agnes pushed her way through the crowd and froze. Lucy was there.

She stood in the middle, pointing and shouting at someone. Several girls stood beside her, just as

aggressive.

They had surrounded another girl. That girl was shouting back, her voice shaking.

She was crying as she tried to defend herself.

Lucy grew more and more furious. Suddenly, she stepped forward and slapped the girl hard across the face. The girls around her joined in. They grabbed the girl’s hair and clothes, pulling and tearing at her.

“Slut! That’s what you get for going after someone else’s boyfriend!”

“I didn’t! Stop! Let go of me! Are you all crazy?!”

“Are you out of your mind?! You look like a toad, and you throw yourself at every guy you see! You’re awful!”

“We’re going to beat some sense into you! Shameless! We’ll make sure everyone in your school knows what you’ve done today!”

“Hey, all of you look closely!” Lucy shouted. “This girl is Rebecca from the business administration department! Instead of acting like a decent person, she went after someone else’s boyfriend and tried to break them up! Take a good look at her! Keep an eye on your own boyfriends-she has no respect for anyone and is a disgrace to this school!”

“I didn’t… I didn’t do that…!” Rebecca cried, shaking her head. “Help… please… stop…!”

Lucy grabbed Rebecca by the hair and yanked her forward, forcing her to face the crowd.

“Everyone, take a good look!” she shouted. “This is your school’s ‘star’! Look at her face-get a good look!”

Most of the students nearby thought this was a girlfriend catching a cheating girl. Plenty of people gathered to watch, but no one stepped in to help.

Some pulled out their phones and started recording. Others whispered among themselves.

“Isn’t she in our department? She always seemed so quiet. Who knew she’d do something like this?”

“She looks so average and she’s involved in this kind of drama?”

“Shows you can’t judge a person by their face. These days, it’s not about looks-it’s about tricks. Wow. This girl is impressive.”

“Ugh, how is she going to stay in school after this? This is so embarrassing.”

“If she really went after someone else’s boyfriend, she clearly doesn’t care about shame anyway.”

“Hahaha, this is wild. What a scene! I’m filming this going to post it online later.”

Agnes pushed closer. When she finally saw clearly, her heart dropped. The girl being attacked was Rebecca.

Rebecca’s face was full of fear. Tears streamed down her cheeks. She looked like a frightened rabbit, clutching her torn clothes tightly with both hands as the others kept pulling at her.
