Chapter 103: The Truth About the Past
Chapter 103: The Truth About the Past
(Theodore’s POV)
Claim
Livia realized she couldn’t win this fight. Her chest heaved with suppressed rage. She glared one last time at the hospital bed, then spun around and hurried out of the room, trailing closely behind Adrian.
Amelia chuckled softly. She reached into the fruit basket, picked out a ripe berry, and popped
it into her mouth.
Jaxon and Seraphina exchanged a glance. They knew we needed a moment. They quietly slipped out of the room without a word. Marcus, ever the professional, nodded to me and stepped outside to stand guard in the hallway.
The door clicked shut. My eyes locked onto Amelia. I couldn’t hide the admiration in my gaze.
I didn’t want to.
“You really drove straight into him,” I said, my voice low. “That plan was insane. And perfect.”
I moved my wheelchair closer to the bed. “I don’t know anyone else in this world who would dare to crash their own car just to trap an enemy. And you walked away without a scratch.”
Amelia chewed her berry and smirked. “Don’t get any ideas, Theo. I calculated the angle and speed perfectly. I knew I would be fine.”
“I won’t try to copy you,” I promised. “Unless I have to.”
I reached out and took her hand. Her skin was warm. “Grandfather Gideon called me. He
suggested we postpone the engagement ceremony because of the accident.”
Amelia raised an eyebrow. “And?”
“I told him no,” I said firmly.
“Good,” Amelia replied instantly. “I refused too.”
We looked at each other and smiled. The connection between us hummed in the air. The accident hadn’t hurt us. It had only made us stronger. It had given Amelia power over the Stone family. There was no reason to wait.
“I want the world to know,” I said, squeezing her hand. “I want to mark you as mine. I want everyone to know you are the future Luna of the Crimson Moon Pack.”

Amelia finished her fruit and wiped her hands on a napkin. She patted the spot on the bed next to her legs.
“Come here,” she said. “Time for your treatment.”
I maneuvered the wheelchair right up to the edge of the mattress. Amelia shifted, placing her hands on my crippled legs. I felt the familiar warmth of her healing energy seep into my muscles. She began to massage, her fingers strong and precise.
“So,” she said, not looking up from her work. “What did Theron and Ronan want yesterday? I know they came to see you.”
“Business,” I said calmly. “Several key projects in the pack have failed recently. Ronan couldn’t fix them. He was panicking.”
Amelia glanced up, a knowing look in her sapphire eyes. “Let me guess. You broke the projects?”
“It was a warning. He needs to know his place.”
“And the investigation?” she asked, her voice dropping a little. “Any proof that he isn’t your biological brother?”
I shook my head. “Nothing concrete yet. But my gut tells me he’s a fake.”
“It’s a mess,” I muttered. “If Ronan is fake, then his betrayal makes sense. I can accept an enemy trying to kill me. But if he is fake… where is my real brother? Did Theron kill him? Is he suffering somewhere?”
။
Amelia pressed harder on a knot in my calf. “Stop it,” she said firmly. “Torturing yourself won’t help. If you suspect him, we investigate. We find the truth. If he needs to be punished, we punish him. If your brother is out there, we find him. Simple.”
I looked at her determined face. The tension in my chest loosened.
“You make everything sound so easy,” I said, a small smile tugging at my lips. “I feel lighter just listening to you.”
The truth was, I was almost grateful for the past. The k********g incident had ruined my legs. It had turned me into a cripple in the eyes of the world. Because of that, the engagement with Celine was cancelled. Because of that, I went to the Meadow Brook Pack.
And that was where I found her.
If I hadn’t been broken, I never would have met my mate.

Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Marcus poked his head in.
“Alpha,” he said, looking annoyed. “Theron is back. He has Ronan with him.”
My face hardened. “Let them wait.”
Marcus nodded and closed the door. Immediately, I heard shouting from the hallway.
Claim
“I am his father!” Theron’s voice boomed through the wood. “Why am I waiting? Tell him to get out here now! This is urgent!”
Amelia rolled her eyes. She didn’t stop her massage. “He still has the nerve to act like a father? After you found out Isla was his illegitimate daughter?”
She looked at me curiously. “You know, you are nothing like him. You must take after your
mother.”
The light in the room seemed to dim for me. “My mother died when I was five,” I said softly. “I don’t remember much. But the elders say she was a powerful Luna. She was brilliant.”
I clenched my jaw. “Theron hated it. He was jealous of her power. He likes to strut around acting like a big, tough Alpha, but he’s incompetent. My mother let him pretend for the sake of peace.”
“Why did you put up with him for so long?” Amelia asked.
“Because he brought Ronan back,” I said bitterly. “Or the boy he claimed was Ronan. He pushed so hard for my brother’s return. I thought he cared. Now I realize it was just a plot to plant his bastard in the main line.”
Amelia frowned. “I don’t get it. Your mother was a powerful Luna. Why didn’t she just reject him? Why stay with a man like that?”
I let out a dry laugh. “Theron is a handsome man. I think she used to joke that she had enough brains for both of them. She just needed a mate with good looks to ensure pretty
pups.
Amelia blinked. She looked at my face, studying my features. Then she nodded slowly.
“Okay,” she said. “I can see that. Being handsome is a powerful argument.”
We shared a brief, dark chuckle. Then Amelia’s face turned serious.
“When your grandfather ordered your brother to be sent away,” she asked, “did your mother agree?”
I shook my head. The pain was sharp, like a fresh wound.

“No,” I whispered. “She fought it. She refused. Theron took the boy in the middle of the night. He did it behind her back.”
I looked at the wall, seeing the past. “When she found out, she went crazy. She shifted and ran after Theron’s car. She was desperate to get her baby back.”
I closed my eyes. “She ran into traffic. A truck hit her. She died on the asphalt, trying to save
her son.”
