Chapter 11: Amelia’s Choice

Chapter 11: Amelia’s Choice

(Amelia’s POV)

I looked at Caleb’s fake smile and the empty seat beside him with undisguised contempt..

Caleb, your attempt at pretending to be close to me is pathetic,” I said coldly. Please don’t make

me sick.

His smile froze on his face as I deliberately walked past him to sit next to Jaxon and Seraphina. The dining room fell silent, all eyes on us.

Caleb’s face darkened with rage. His fists clenched under the table, and I could see him struggling to maintain his composure. Celine tugged at his sleeve, giving him a warning look.

Adrian cleared his throat, his voice stern. Amelia, I’m very displeased with your rudeness.

I turned to him with a raised eyebrow. I’m not your daughter, Uncle Adrian. You have no right to discipline me.

The word unclehit him like a physical blow. His face contorted with shock and anger.

Uncle?he repeated, his voice strained.

Yes, uncle,I confirmed with a sweet smile. That’s what you are to me now, isn’t it?

Livia quickly jumped in, trying to salvage the situation. Her voice was honeysweet, but her eyes were cold.

Amelia, dear, your father and I know we made mistakes. Please don’t be angry. Come sit with

Caleb.*

I stared at her in disbelief. Are you hard of hearing, Aunt Livia? Or do you simply not understand what people say?

Caleb couldn’t contain himself any longer. He slammed his hand on the table, making the silverware rattle.

You need to show some respect when speaking to your birth parents!he shouted.

I laughed, the sound sharp and mocking. Oh? So much for your apology. You’ve dropped the act rather quickly, haven’t you?

What’s all this commotion about?Patriarch Alaric’s authoritative voice cut through the tension a he entered the dining room.

Caleb’s demeanor changed instantly. His back straightened, and his voice became respectful.

Grandfather, I was just explaining pack rules to Amelia.

I scoffed. What he means is that he’s trying to discipline me, bypassing my actual parents.I gestured to Jaxon and Seraphina. That’s quite disrespectful to them, don’t you think?

Seraphina nodded firmly. Amelia is our daughter now. No one else has the right to tell her what to

do.

Patriarch Alaric surveyed the room with sharp eyes, then took his seat at the head of the table.

I think it’s time we cleared this up once and for all,” he declared. His gaze fixed on me. Amelia, are you absolutely certain you want Jaxon and Seraphina as your parents?

The room fell silent. All eyes turned to me.

Livia leaned forward, her voice urgent. Amelia, don’t be stubborn. This isn’t a game.

Adrian’s voice was low and threatening. Think carefully, Amelia. Livia and I are your biological parents. With Jaxon, you’ll only ever be an adopted daughter living under someone else’s roof.

Seraphina’s face flushed with anger. That’s not true! From the moment she called me Mom, I’ve loved her as my own!

I glanced at Seraphina and saw the anxiety in her eyes. She was actually worried I might change my mind at the last moment. The realization warmed my heart.

Grandfather,I said firmly, meeting Alaric’s gaze. I’ve made my decision. Jaxon and Seraphina are my parents now.

Amelia!Livia cried out, her voice desperate.

I turned to her with an irritated expression. Aunt Livia, you’re being very noisy.

The word Auntmade her face contort with fury.

Patriarch Alaric nodded solemnly. Very well. Since Amelia has made her position clear, she will no longer recognize Adrian and Livia as her parents.

Seraphina exhaled in relief. Jaxon squeezed her hand gently.

She adores you,he whispered to her.

I nodded. Dad’s right.

In my mind, Ava whispered softly: We chose the right familythose who truly love us.

Celine, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up. I think we should hold a grand welcome

ceremony for Amelia.

Everyone turned to her in surprise.

clam

Let all the wolves in Northgate City know that Amelia is the true daughter of the Stone River Pack Alpha, she continued with a smile.

The room fell silent again. This suggestion was shockingit would announce to all packs that Celine was the fake Alpha daughter.

I hope Amelia can accept me,” Celine said, her voice soft and seemingly sincere. I don’t want to leave the Stone family because I love everyone here. The title of Alpha’s daughter doesn’t matter

to me.

Livia’s eyes

filled with tears. My sweet girl, she choked out.

Even Patriarch Alaric’s expression softened slightly toward Celine. He nodded thoughtfully. *Jaxon, Seraphina, you’ll be in charge of organizing the welcome ceremony,he decided. I exchanged a silent conversation with Ava. She’s clearly plotting something again.Celine’s eyes met mine, a subtle challenge hidden in their depths. I smiled calmly.

Mom, please make the welcome ceremony as grand as possible, I said confidently.

Seraphina beamed at me. Don’t worry, I’ll make it spectacular.

(Thirdperson’s POV)

Celine maintained her serene expression, but inside she was gleeful. She imagined Amelia at the welcome ceremonya girl raised in a small pack who would surely be ignorant of proper etiquette. The other Alpha children would mock her, forcing her to face reality.

After dinner, Patriarch Alaric retired to his room. As Amelia prepared to leave with Jaxon and Seraphina, Caleb’s cold voice stopped her.

Amelia.

He approached with Celine at his side, clearly intending to say something. Before he could speak, Amelia cut him off.

Look at that, she said with disdain. Two wild dogs barking in front of me.”

Caleb’s face contorted with rage. He had planned to praise Celine’s kindness, how she still cared for Amelia despite being treated poorly.

How dare you speak to us like that?he demanded, trembling with fury.
