Valerius looked at the young woman before him, and a chill crawled up his spine.

Amelia did not smile gently as he had expected. She leaned back lazily in the chair, twirling a fountain pen in her fingers. Her eyes were sharp, as if they could see right through his soul.

“Loyalty pays, Valerius. Screw me over, and you won’t just lose the Moon Grass; you’ll lose your business. Do we have an understanding?”

Valerius nodded hurriedly, fine beads of sweat seeping out on his forehead.

“Of course, Miss Stone, I understand.”

Amelia put away the pen with a satisfied look. She stood up and smoothed her dress.

She tossed a gold–stamped invitation onto the desk. The movement was casual, like throwing a bone to a pet.

“Oh, and clear your schedule for Saturday. You might want to see the show at the Crimson Moon Pack. I’m inviting you to the front row.”

Valerius picked up the invitation with both hands. His heart was a mix of terror and excitement. He knew this was not just an invitation; it was a display of power.

After respectfully seeing her out, Valerius wiped the sweat from his face. He immediately dialed Ethan’s number.

“Hello, Ethan. Didn’t you ask me to keep an eye out for that mysterious Shadow Apothecary?”

On the other end of the line, Ethan’s voice instantly became urgent upon hearing the news.

Valerius lowered his voice, feigning mystery. He told him that the Shadow Apothecary had sent someone to deliver rare moonlight herbs. He added that the Apothecary left a message saying he would personally attend the auction this weekend.

Ethan was thrilled. He thanked Valerius repeatedly and promised a heavy reward in the

future.

Valerius hung up the phone and sneered at the mobile screen.

Ethan hung up the phone, his heart pounding in his chest. The hand holding the device trembled slightly.

Finally, there was hope to cure the poison in his body!

He looked forward to the weekend with desperate anticipation. He thought that as long as the Shadow Apothecary could cure him, he would meet any condition, no matter how harsh.

He believed this was the only way to completely break free from that madwoman Amelia’s threats. Once he recovered his health, he could focus on dealing with Amelia’s step–by–step encroachment on their family.

She had already taken thirty percent of Starlight Entertainment’s shares. He absolutely could not let Amelia succeed in taking the remaining shares!

Amelia returned from the auction house. As soon as she entered the door, she heard her foster mother Seraphina’s voice.

Seraphina was worrying over the guest list for the engagement ceremony. She asked Amelia if she should invite those old friends from the Meadow Brook Pack.

Amelia took off her coat casually and handed it to a servant.

“Just send the list of regular neighbors to Grandfather to handle,” she said faintly. “But this list in my hand… is relatively special. I will send it directly to Theodore’s security team.”

Seraphina and Jaxon exchanged a glance. They both expressed their full support for Amelia.

“Amelia, the Crimson family is hosting this engagement ceremony. Although the scale is grand, I am worried some people might have bad intentions. They might use Theodore’s disability to make a scene and try to humiliate you both.”
