Chapter 123: The Grand Union Ceremony
Chapter 123: The Grand Union Ceremony
(Celine’s POV)
Claim
The Saturday sunset bled across the sky, turning the clouds a deep, bruised amber. The gates
of the Crimson Moon Pack House stood wide open to welcome the elite.
Expensive cars lined the driveway. I saw Rolls–Royce Phantoms and black, bulletproof Bentleys everywhere.
I stepped out of the car and froze. The pack house looked like a fortress from a fairy tale.
The air smelled of money. Expensive perfume mixed with the scent of pine and gourmet canapés.
It was overwhelming. It was a massive display of wealth from the Alpha King’s family. It was a declaration of power.
I adjusted the shawl on my shoulders with a scoff. *Too much gold,* I thought bitterly. *It screams ‘new money‘.*
My knuckles turned white as I gripped my clutch. Amelia, that country girl, fit right in with this tacky aesthetic.
I wasn’t jealous. I told myself that firmly. She didn’t deserve any of this.
I walked toward the entrance. A group of high–ranking she–wolves stood nearby, whispering.
“Can you believe the effort Theodore put into this?” one woman said, swirling her wine. “He never looked twice at Celine.”
“Rumor has it they never even met privately,” another giggled. “But for the country girl? He pulled out all the stops.”
“Well, he is a cripple,” the first woman sneered. “He chose her because he needed a nurse, not
a Queen.”
Rage flared in my chest. I turned and stared at them coldly.
They noticed my glare. The laughter died in their throats. They looked away, awkward and
silent.
*Idiots,* I thought. *I don’t need to serve a broken man. This just proves I am too good for him.*

Footsteps dragged behind me. I didn’t need to turn to know who it was.
Ethan limped to my side. His leg injury from the accident still made walking a struggle.
He placed a hand on my shoulder.
“Celine,” he whispered. “Don’t listen to those vipers.”
I looked down at the ground.

“Theodore is blind,” Ethan continued, his voice low and angry. “You are the pride of the Stone family. You deserve a healthy, strong Alpha. Not a cripple.”
I took a deep breath. I didn’t pretend to be the perfect, obedient daughter this time.
I turned to face him. I let tears well up in my eyes, but I kept my expression hard.
“I don’t care about marriage, Ethan,” I said, my voice trembling with hate. “I just don’t want to see them laughing at *us*.”
Ethan’s face softened. A fierce protective look crossed his eyes.
“Even if we aren’t blood related, you are my only sister,” he promised. “I will protect you. I will make sure you marry the best man in the world.”
I gave him a grateful smile. But behind my tears, my eyes remained cold and calculating.
(Author’s POV)
Ethan and Celine walked into the banquet hall. The whispers followed them.
A group of young werewolf nobles stood near the bar. They watched Ethan’s uneven gait.
“Look at him,” one young man snickered.
Another boy began to limp exaggeratedly. He dragged his leg behind him, mocking Ethan.
“Is that the new style?” the boy laughed. “The ‘cripple walk‘?”
The group erupted in laughter. Ethan’s face turned red.
Suddenly, the air grew heavy. A suffocating Alpha Aura slammed down on the room.
Adrian Stone walked in with Livia on his arm. His face was thunderous.
He swept his cold gaze over the young nobles. The pressure was immense.

The laughter cut off instantly. The boys turned pale and scattered, terrified of the powerful Alpha.
Adrian guided his family to a quiet rest area. Livia sat down, fuming.
“Those brats have no manners,” Livia hissed. “Did you see them mocking our son?”
She looked at Ethan’s leg. Her expression was pained.
“My poor boy,” she said. “At least you aren’t useless like Theodore. It’s just a limp.”
“Enough,” Adrian interrupted coldly. “I have contacted the best medical team abroad.”
Livia looked up.
“Surgery or top–tier bionic limbs,” Adrian stated. “His leg won’t affect his future. Now is not the time for self–pity, Livia.”
His eyes narrowed. They were sharp and full of schemes.
“We must use tonight to regain control,” he said. “If we don’t secure the Stone River Pack inheritance, the mockery will never stop.”
Livia nodded slowly. Her face hardened.
“We have Carlos Drake,” she whispered. “And tonight, Celine has a job.”
She glanced at her daughter.
“Go find Rhys Calder,” Livia ordered. “If you can secure him, we will have the Calder Pack’s backing. No one will dare touch us.”
Adrian looked grim. He knew attacking Amelia directly tonight was impossible.
*Let the Crimson family destroy themselves,* Adrian thought. *I hope the internal fighting ruins Theodore.*
He refused to see the cripple rise again. And he certainly didn’t want that ungrateful wretch, Amelia, to win.
At the main entrance of the pack house, Seraphina and Jaxon stood tall. They were greeting guests in Theodore’s place.
Adrian and Livia approached the door. They stopped in front of the hosts.
Seraphina didn’t bother with a fake smile. She watched them coldly.

Livia stepped closer. Her eyes were full of malice.

“Jaxon, Seraphina,” Livia said, her voice dripping with poison. “You better keep a tight leash on Amelia.”
Jaxon stiffened.
“This is the Alpha King’s domain,” Livia continued. “Don’t let her stray habits embarrass us all.”
Seraphina’s professional mask vanished. She took a sharp step forward.
Livia flinched and leaned back.
“Watch your tone, Livia,” Seraphina warned. Her voice was ice.
“This is Crimson territory,” Seraphina said. “If you insult the future Luna again, I will call security. I will have you thrown out myself. Try me.”
Livia let out a cold laugh. She looked around the grand hall.
“Don’t be so confident,” she lowered her voice to a mock whisper. “Look around.”
Seraphina frowned but stood her ground.
“Theron Crimson isn’t even here,” Livia sneered. “The groom’s own father didn’t show up. Do you know what that means?”
Jaxon narrowed his eyes.
“It means the family doesn’t accept this farce,” Livia gloated. “Once Theodore loses his family’s support, who will protect your trouble–making daughter?”
Livia smirked.
“May the Moon Goddess have mercy on you,” she said.
She grabbed Adrian’s arm and walked haughtily into the banquet hall.
Seraphina watched their retreating backs. She didn’t look worried. She looked amused.
“Theron didn’t come?” she thought. “Good.”
It meant Theodore was finally free of that man’s shadow.
“Let the old man rot in his castle,” Seraphina decided. “Tonight belongs to the new generation.”
