Adrian turned his head, a smug grin plastering his face. He looked at Jaxon with unmasked triumph.

“Jaxon,” Adrian said, his voice smooth with confidence. “Lyra already told me the news.”

Jaxon raised an eyebrow but stayed silent.

“Carlos is arranging a meeting for me with Rowan Calder tomorrow,” Adrian bragged. “We are going to discuss cooperation.”

He stepped closer, lowering his voice mockingly.

“So, your little dream of taking management rights of Stone River Botanicals?” Adrian chuckled. “That delusion is about to shatter.”

Jaxon looked at his brother calmly. He already knew the truth from Seraphina last night.

Rowan was Rhys’s father. And Rhys was firmly on Amelia’s side.

Adrian was walking into a trap.

“Are you happy a bit too early?” Jaxon asked coolly. “You haven’t even met Rowan yet.”

Adrian waved his hand dismissively.

“It’s a done deal,” Adrian insisted. “I don’t want to spoil the mood at Amelia’s engagement party, so keep dreaming if you want.”

He didn’t wait for a reply. He gestured to Livia and Celine, and they strutted into the Pack House like they owned it.

Seraphina stared at Adrian’s retreating back. Her grip tightened on her champagne flute until the glass creaked.

“That bastard,” she hissed, her voice a low growl. “His smile is disgusting.”

She turned to Jaxon; her eyes blazing.

“Jaxon, if you weren’t holding me back,” she said, “I would tear that smug look right off his face.”

She looked up at the towering gates of the pack house. Her expression turned cold.

“As for Theodore’s father, Theron?” she scoffed. “He better be dead or taking his last breath.”

Jaxon placed a calming hand on her shoulder.

“If he dares to be absent today just to embarrass my daughter,” Seraphina threatened, “I don’t mind helping Theodore take over this kingdom early.”

Jaxon squeezed her shoulder gently.

Seraphina took a deep breath. She adjusted her expensive shawl and lifted her chin.

Her eyes flashed with dangerous light.

“Fine,” she said. “I’ll wait. But I only give them one chance.”

She looked at the banquet hall.

“If anyone makes Amelia shed a single tear today,” Seraphina vowed, “I will burn this place to the ground.”

The atmosphere in the heavy oak study of the Crimson Pack house was suffocating.

Alpha King Gideon Crimson sat behind his massive desk. His eyes were closed in deep thought.

The core members of the family stood around him. Tension filled the air.

Magnus Crimson, Theodore’s fourth uncle, broke the silence. His tone was aggressive.

“Theron has lost his grip,” Magnus stated bluntly. “His son is a cripple. That wolf, Logan, is useless now.”

Vincent Crimson, the third uncle, nodded in agreement.

“They have no right to stay at the center of power,” Vincent said. “Theodore is unfit to be the

heir of the Crimson Moon Pack.”

The two brothers exchanged a look. It wasn’t friendly.

They both had ambitious sons. They both wanted the throne.

“Father,” Magnus pressed. “We need a strong Alpha. Not a broken man in a wheelchair.”

Gideon slowly opened his eyes. They were sharp, golden, and terrifying.

Natasha Crimson, their cousin, stood nearby. She shook her head.

“I don’t think Grandpa has given up on Theodore,” Natasha said calmly.

Vivian Crimson laughed sharply.

“Don’t be stupid, Natasha,” Vivian mocked. “A cripple as Alpha? It would shame the entire Crimson family.”

Derek looked up from his phone and snickered. “Exactly.”

Natasha didn’t back down. She rolled her eyes dramatically.

“Oh, this is rich,” Natasha said. She raised her glass in a mocking toast to Derek.

“You guys keep living in your fantasy world,” she said. “But I suggest you save those pathetic bets.”

She smirked.

“When Amelia walks in,” Natasha warned, “your jaws are going to hit the floor.”

She turned her back on them and leaned against the bar. Her eyes scanned the entrance with

anticipation.

“This isn’t an engagement party,” she muttered to herself. “It’s an execution. I need a

front–row seat.”

Vivian frowned, looking at the empty doorway.

“The main stars are late,” Vivian complained.

“Well, wheelchairs are slow,” Derek joked cruelly.

The group laughed. Derek finally put down his phone.
