Chapter 13: A Slap for Celine
Chapter 13: A Slap for Celine
(Amelia’s POV)
“I’m ninety percent confident I can heal Theodore’s legs,” I told Seraphina and Jaxon firmly.
Their eyes widened in surprise. In truth, I was one hundred percent certain, but I preferred to be modest. My healing abilities were unique, and Theodore’s injury was relatively recent, giving him excellent chances for recovery.
“Most healers rely too heavily on modern techniques,” I explained. “They overlook the power of ancient herbal remedies that I’ve mastered.”
Jaxon leaned forward, his expression serious. “Are you certain, Amelia? This is no small claim.”
I nodded confidently. “The traditional methods I’ve studied are particularly effective for injuries like his.”
Seraphina reached across the table and squeezed my hand. “If you believe you can help him, then
we support you completely.”
“If Adrian and Livia truly intend for you to replace Celine as Theodore’s mate at Saturday’s banquet,
and if that’s what you want,” Jaxon added, “we won’t stand in your way.”
I playfully linked my arm through Seraphina’s, leaning against her shoulder. “Thank you for believing
in me.”
Jaxon’s eyes softened as he watched us. “Your arrival is a gift from the Moon Goddess herself. You’ve brought light back into our lives.”
After breakfast, Seraphina suggested I familiarize myself with the Pack house before we went. shopping for clothes.
“I’d like to explore on my own, if that’s alright,” I said, thinking of my three snake companions. Black, White, and Green needed suitable places to hunt, as my supply of freeze–dried spiders was running
low.
“Are you sure?” Seraphina asked. “I’m happy to show you around.”
I shook my head. “You two focus on the welcome ceremony preparations. I’ll be fine.”
She explained the layout of the estate: three main villas comprised the family residences. The east wing belonged to Jaxon and Seraphina, the west to Adrian’s family, and the south to Grandfather Alaric. The central building was reserved for family gatherings and hosting guests.

“The rest is mostly gardens and landscaped grounds,” she added.
Perfect for my little hunters, I thought, mentally noting potential feeding spots for my serpentine friends as I wandered the grounds.
As I approached a building marked “The Rosewood Wing: Fencountered Celine emerging from inside. She wore a flowing white dress with her hair cascading down her back, a French book clutched in her manicured hands- the perfect picture of a cultured young lady.
When she spotted me, her lips curved into a condescending smile. She grabbed my hand with
false warmth.
“Good morning, sister,” she greeted, her voice dripping with honey–coated venom. “How are you finding the Pack house? I imagine it must be quite different from the quaint little village you’re used
to.”
I gripped her hand firmly, preventing her from pulling away. “Are you mocking me for coming from a small pack? Implying I can’t adjust to living in a wealthy household?”
Celine’s eyes widened with feigned innocence. ‘Of course not! I’m simply concerned about your
comfort.”
I scoffed, seeing through her act. “Drop the pretense. Your birth mother Martha Keene is still in prison for what she did, yet here you are, shamelessly continuing to live in luxury.”
Her mask slipped when she confirmed we were alone. “Adrian and Livia brought you back solely to marry you off to Theodore in my place,” she hissed. “A stray wolf raised in the countryside should be grateful for the opportunity I’m giving you.”
Her lips curled into a cruel smile. “And don’t be fooled by Jaxon and Seraphina’s affection. They only care about you because of blood ties and potential inheritance rights.”
Inside me, Ava howled with rage. This fake b***h dares to insult us!”
“Stay calm, Ava,” I replied mentally. “She’ll pay for this.”
Celine gestured to the building behind her. “This is The Rosewood Wing, where we received our education. I’ve studied here since childhood with private tutors – chess, plano, oil painting. multiple languages.”
She looked me up and down with contempt. “How many of these skills do you possess? None, I imagine. And at your age, it’s too late to learn.”
Her voice dripped with false sympathy. “But I’m sure you’re excellent at growing vegetables, washing clothes, and cooking. Perhaps you could teach me those… rustic skills.”
Chapter 13 A Slap for Celine
Without hesitation, I slapped her hard across the face, sending her sprawling to the ground.

Celine gasped, touching her reddening cheek in shock. Before she could retaliate, her eyes darted past me, and her expression instantly transformed into one of wounded innocence.
I turned to see Caleb approaching, his face darkening with anger as he rushed to Celine’s side.
“What happened?” he demanded, helping Celine to her feet.
Celine sniffled pathetically. “I only asked if she wanted to learn piano and painting. I offered to teach her, and she suddenly slapped me. I don’t understand what I did wrong.
I shook my hand casually. “She was asking for it.”
Caleb’s eyes blazed with fury. “No one has ever dared to bully Celine before. Your verbal attacks were bad enough, but now you’ve physically assaulted her? I’m going to teach you a lesson you won’t forget.”
Behind Caleb’s back, Celine shot me a triumphant smirk, but her words were all concerned urgency. “Amelia, you should apologize quickly! Whenever anyone bullies me, Caleb beats them half to death.”
Her words caught in her throat as Caleb lunged toward me. Before he could reach me, I delivered a swift kick to his knee, dropping him to the ground. I stomped on his supporting hand and casually cleaned my ear with my finger.
“You’re so noisy,” I remarked.
