Octavia frowned deeply. She looked at Seraphina as if seeing a stranger.

One by one, they collapsed to the floor. They foamed at the mouth, twitching uncontrollably. They didn’t even have time to shift into their wolf forms.

Mom let out a long breath. She looked at me, her eyes wide. She had forgotten for a moment that her daughter was the Shadow Healer.

Lyra and Carlos stared at the bodies on the floor, stunned. Octavia’s eyes narrowed, her look shifting from anger to wary calculation.

I paused. The room was silent except for the ragged breathing of the unconscious Enforcers, I turned my gaze slowly to Matriarch Octavia.
