Ethan adjusted his collar, his movements jerky and aggressive. He glared at me, his eyes burning with resentment.

“Don’t get too comfortable, Amelia,” he spat. “The share transfer isn’t finalized yet. Grandfather Alaric is the Alpha; he can change his mind at any moment.”

He took a step closer, lowering his voice to a menacing growl.

“You think you’ve won? Just wait. Once I find that expert–the Shadow Apothecary–and clear this poison from my veins, I will take back everything. I will leave you with nothing, just like

arrived.”

He grabbed Celine’s arm roughly. “Let’s go.”

Celine stumbled but followed him, casting one last hateful look in my direction. I watched their retreating backs, a cold sneer forming on my lips.

Inside my mind, Ava yawned lazily.

*“The fool,” she scoffed, stretching her paws. *“He has no idea he is threatening the very wolf who holds his life in her hands. I can’t wait to smell the fear on him when he realizes you

Natasha watched them disappear into the elevator, shaking her head in confusion.

“I really don’t understand the logic of the Stone family,” she said, frustration evident in her voice. “Even if they didn’t know you were powerful before, you are their true blood. You are the Alpha’s daughter. Celine is just a fake.”

She turned to look at me, her golden eyes filled with sympathy.

“Why do Adrian and Livia treat a fraud like a princess while treating their own flesh and blood like an enemy? You suffered in the wild for years. They should be begging for

your forgiveness.”

Natasha sighed. “Thank the Moon Goddess you are strong, Amelia. If you were weak, that

The heavy atmosphere lifted slightly. I smiled at her.

“You have such a way with words,” I teased. “Your future mate will be a very happy wolf to have you defending him.”

Natasha shrugged, her expression turning serious.

“I’d rather stay single,” she stated firmly. “Unless I can find a male as outstanding as my cousin Theodore.”

I raised an eyebrow. I knew the Crimson family dynamics were complicated.

“I thought your mother, Aunt Cordelia, always kept your branch neutral in the family struggles,” I said. “Why do you hold Theodore in such high regard?”

“It’s not just about worshipping strength,” Natasha explained. “Theodore is different from the rest of the Crimson family. Most of them only care about profit and power.”

She gestured vaguely toward the upper levels of the auction house.

“Take my cousin Victor, for example. If his brother got into trouble, Victor would only worry about whether it would damage his own reputation. He wouldn’t care if his family lived or died.”

Natasha’s eyes softened.

“But Theodore is different. He has absolute loyalty and protectiveness toward his people. I used to be so jealous of Isla. Even though she was only an adopted sister, Theodore protected her like she was the most precious thing in the world.”

Her expression darkened, anger flashing across her face.

“That’s why I hate them,” she hissed. “Ronan and Isla. They are traitors. One is his blood brother, the other his protected sister. And they joined forces to cripple him. They deserve to rot in the dungeon.”

She looked at me, tilting her head.

“Speaking of Theodore, why isn’t he here today? Why did you ask me to come instead?” She grinned mischievously. “If he finds out I’m your date, he might get jealous. He’s very

Natasha nodded vigorously. “Good. Ronan deserves everything he gets.”

We walked down the corridor and arrived at the double doors marked “The Rat Suite.” It was the VIP box Valerius Kane had personally reserved for me.

The interior of the auction house was magnificent. The design was circular, with the stage in the center below. The second floor housed twelve luxury boxes, each named after an ancient zodiac animal.

Through the one–way glass, we had a perfect view of the entire venue.

“It’s packed today,” Natasha observed. She pointed toward a box diagonally across from us.

“Look,” she said. “That’s ‘The Horse Suite‘. That is my cousin, Victor Crimson. He’s already got a new woman on his arm.”

She shifted her finger to the next box.

“And there. ‘The Dragon Suite‘. That’s Griffin Drake.” Her voice rose in excitement. “The heir of the Drake Pack is here? There must be something incredibly precious at this auction today.”

I scanned the room, my gaze calm. I already knew the answer.

Most of these big shots weren’t here for antiques or jewelry. They were here because Valerius had leaked the information I gave him.

In the werewolf world, once an Alpha has reached the peak of wealth and power, there is only one thing they crave: longevity and physical perfection.

The items I had given Valerius were rare moonlight herbs I had cultivated myself. They could heal severe internal injuries, strengthen a wolf’s constitution, and even delay the effects of aging.

That was enough to drive every Alpha in the Northern Territories crazy.

In a nearby VIP box, “The Snake Suite,” Penelope Blackwood swirled a glass of red wine. She watched the activity in the “Rat Suite” through the glass partition.

Her friend nodded, eyes widening in realization. “So that’s why Ethan Stone left in such a hurry. He couldn’t get the top box because it was reserved for her?”

“Exactly,” Penelope said with a thoughtful smile.

She took a sip of her wine.

“It looks like the sky is changing over the Stone River Pack,” she murmured. “Ethan is losing his grip. The future Alpha seat probably won’t belong to him. It belongs to Amelia Stone.”

The auction hadn’t officially started yet.

In “The Horse Suite,” Victor Crimson lounged on a leather sofa. He happened to glance across the hall and spotted Natasha standing next to Amelia in the “Rat Suite.”

He let out a sharp, mocking laugh.

“Look at that,” Victor sneered to his companion. “Natasha is such an i***t. She pretended to be neutral for years, and now she finally picks a side? She chose to stand with the cripple.”

He shook his head, his voice dripping with disdain.

“What kind of future does she think she’ll have following a paralyzed Alpha who can’t even

shift?”

Victor was so absorbed in his mockery that he didn’t notice the red light on the console next to him. The PA system for his box had malfunctioned and was stuck in the “ON” position.

His insult boomed through the massive speakers, echoing clearly across the entire auction

hall.

The chatter in the lobby died instantly. Complete silence fell over the venue. Hundreds of heads turned upward, staring directly at “The Horse Suite.”

Victor froze. He saw the crowd looking at him and realized what had happened. His face drained of color, and he scrambled to smash the mute button.

In the “Rat Suite,” Natasha’s face turned white. She trembled with rage and humiliation.

Amelia placed a steady hand on Natasha’s shoulder.
