Natasha leaned against the sterile white wall, her arms crossed casually over her mocking laugh escaped her lips, cutting through the heavy tension in the room.

“This family is truly hopelessly stupid,” she remarked, shaking her head in disbelief. Adrian’s face turned a sickly shade of green at the insult. He opened his mouth to retort, but the confusion regarding his son stopped him. He turned back to Caleb, who was still gasping for air on the hospital bed.
“Caleb,” Adrian asked, his brow furrowed deep. “You were in a deep coma the entire time. How could you possibly know these details?”
Caleb took a shallow, rattling breath. His eyes drifted toward Amelia, filled with a complex mix of gratitude and shame.
“It was thanks to Amelia,” Caleb rasped. “My body couldn’t move. I couldn’t even lift an eyelid. But she had already started healing me. She kept my body paralyzed, but my consciousness… it was absolutely clear.”
He paused to cough, wincing at the pain in his chest.
“I heard every word Celine said while sitting by my bed,” Caleb continued, his voice hardening. “I heard her vicious plans. I heard her gloating about her victory. I heard it all.”
The revelation hit the room like a physical blow. Celine froze. Her body began to tremble uncontrollably, her face draining of all color until she looked like a corpse. She had treated him as a safe confessional. She never imagined he was a conscious witness to her darkest secrets.

Ethan stood by the window, his hands clenched into fists. He finally understood t Amelia’s mockery earlier. The realization was a poison spreading through his veins. the only antidote on this viper. He had saved the monster and almost let his own brother die.
Livia’s reaction was immediate and violent. She was a proud woman, vain and foolish, but she was a mother. Her instinct to protect her blood kicked in with ferocious intensity.
She lunged at Celine.
*Slap!*
The sound echoed sharply in the quiet room.
“Celine, you ungrateful Rogue mongrel!” Livia screamed. Her voice was shrill, tearing at her throat.

“You dared to poison Caleb? We gave you everything! We spoiled you rotten! And this is how you
repay us?”
Celine was knocked to the floor by the force of the blow. She curled up, looking pathetic and small.
Amelia watched the chaotic scene unfold with cold detachment. A corner of h

sneer.
“Look at that, Ava,” Amelia murmured under her breath. “The ‘unconditional love‘ of the Stone family has an expiration date after all. And to think, all it took was the truth to turn their precious
princess into a punching bag.”
Celine clutched her stinging cheek. She scrambled across the floor toward Adrian, desperate for a
shield.
“No… it’s not true, Dad!” she wailed, her words tumbling over each other. “Caleb must be hallucinating! It’s the side effects of the medicine! This is all Amelia’s plot! She is trying to drive a wedge between us!”
Amelia let out a short, incredulous laugh. It sounded like she was listening to a bad joke.
“Don’t flatter yourself, Celine,” Amelia said. Her tone was light, conversational, but her words were razor–sharp. “I didn’t have to lift a finger to turn them against you. I just handed them a mirror, and they finally saw you for the snake you are. The best part? You did all the work for me.”
Something inside Adrian snapped. The humiliation, the betrayal, the loss of control–it all boiled
over.
He lunged forward and grabbed a fistful of Celine’s perfectly styled blonde hair. With a guttural roar, he slammed her head down onto the hard marble coffee table.
*Thud.*
Celine screamed as her forehead connected with the stone.
“Shut up!” Adrian bellowed. His eyes were red with fury. “Don’t you dare call me took the Stone family’s money to feed that greedy biological father of yours! You red rogue werewolves to murder my own daughter! You pinned all your sins on Amelia and turned me against her! You damn liar!”

He yanked her head up by her hair, forcing her to look at him. Blood trickled down her forehead.
“Amelia,” Adrian said, turning his desperate gaze to his true daughter. “Look. Dad is making her pay. This fake hurt you. I will make her pay in blood right now.”
Amelia looked at Adrian’s shaking hands. She looked at the blood on the table. Her blue eyes held no satisfaction, only deep disgust.

She took a step forward. Her voice was colder than the winter wind in the Northern Territories.
“Do you really think a few bruises make up for eighteen years, Adrian?” she asked softly. “You’re not father. It’s beating her for *me*. You’re doing it to make *yourself* feel better about being a
pathetic.”
She paused, her gaze slicing through him like a blade.
“So no, it’s not enough. It’s insulting.”
The words lashed Adrian like a whip. He needed her. He needed the Shadow Healer. He needed to salvage his legacy.
He gritted his teeth. He tightened his grip on Celine’s hair. Ignoring her shrieks, he slammed her head into the floor. Again. And again.
Blood smeared across the expensive tiles. Celine’s wails turned into weak whimpers.
Ethan couldn’t watch anymore. He rushed forward and grabbed Adrian’s arm.
“Father, stop!” Ethan shouted. He wasn’t pleading for Celine; he was pleading for sanity. “If you keep hitting her, she will die! This will bring trouble from the Werewolf Council!”
Livia, looking terrified, joined in. “Yes, Adrian! Don’t go to jail for this slut! Let it go for today!”
Amelia laughed again. It was a dark, hollow sound.
“Look at that,” she interrupted. “Even now, you’re protecting her. ‘She might die‘? Good. Let her.” She locked eyes with Adrian. Her expression was challenging, mocking.
“Or are you all talk, Adrian? You want my forgiveness, but you’re afraid of getting your hands a little dirty? Pick a side, Alpha. You can’t have both.”
Adrian stopped, his chest heaving. He was trembling from head to toe, stung by Amelia’s question. She was questioning his resolve. She was questioning his authority.
He shoved Ethan away. He stood up abruptly, his eyes scanning the room wildly.

Celine saw him reach for the knife. A chill of pure terror shot down her spine. This was it. He was going to kill her.
Livia screamed and tried to grab him. “Adrian, no!”
Adrian pushed her aside with violent force.
“Since Amelia feels it isn’t enough to relieve her hatred,” Adrian declared, his voice sounding like a death sentence, “even if I can’t kill her, I will ruin this lying face!”
He advanced on Celine.

Celine scrambled backward on the floor, her heels slipping in her own blood. She looked around frantically for a lifeline. Her eyes locked onto Ethan.
“Ethan…” she sobbed, reaching out a shaking hand. Please… save me… You most, didn’t you? Please!”

Ethan looked down at her. His handsome face was twisted in disgust and cold indiference.
“I did spoil you,” Ethan said flatly. “Otherwise, how would I have given you that only antidote? But you played us all for fools.”
He turned his back on her.
Despair crashed over Celine. She turned her head toward the hospital bed.
“Caleb…” she whispered.
“Don’t say my name!” Caleb roared. His voice was hoarse, shredded, but filled with hate. “I am not your brother! I wish I could tear you apart with my own hands!”
