I was cornered. There was nowhere left to run. My desperate gaze swept across the room and landed on the man in the wheelchair.
Theodore Crimson.
He was my last lifeline. Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to look as fragile as possible.
“Theodore, please save me… okay?” I begged, my voice trembling. “I know we had feelings for each other before. You wanted to mark me, didn’t you?”
Before he could answer, a slender hand reached out.
Amelia stepped forward, sliding her arm through Theodore’s. She adjusted his collar with casual intimacy, not even glancing at me.
“Oh, honey, save your breath,” Amelia said, letting out a mocking laugh. “It’s embarrassing.”
My face went rigid. Amelia turned her head slowly, her sapphire eyes cold as ice.
“Also, get the situation straight, Celine,” she said. “We are fated mates. Although you don’t have a
wolf and can’t feel it, you should try to understand the difference.”
Theodore looked at her with a hint of a smile, then turned his freezing gaze on me.
“You heard my Luna,” he said, his voice low. “Given the vicious things you did to Lia, even if others wanted to forgive you, I never would.”
“I won’t let her off!” Adrian shouted immediately, eager to please the Alpha. “I promise I will handle
her until Amelia is satisfied!”
I realized then that only Amelia could save me. But my pride wouldn’t let me beg the person I hated
most.
Adrian marched up to me, his face twisted in rage.
“You shameless liar!” he roared. “When Theodore was crippled, you cried and begged us to bring Amelia back to marry him! You wanted her to die in your place!”
I dropped to my knees, sobbing. I grabbed his pant leg.
“Dad, I am the daughter you raised for twenty years,” I wailed. “Don’t we have any father–daughter

bond?”

“If you remembered that bond, you wouldn’t have hurt my biological daughter!” Adrian bellowed. He kicked me away. “Ethan! Grab her!”
Ethan hesitated, but remembering his poisoned leg, he stepped forward and gripped my shoulders
like a vice.
Adrian growled. His fingertips shifted, sharp claws extending.
He swung his hand.
*Slash!*
Pain exploded across my face. Blood sprayed into the air.
“This is for Caleb!” Adrian screamed.
He swung again at my other cheek.
“This is for Amelia!”
(Adrian’s POV)
Blood splattered onto the floor. Celine screamed. I raised my claws again, desperate to show
Amelia my loyalty.
“That’s enough, Adrian!”
Amelia’s voice was sharp. I froze, expecting approval, but she looked at the mess with disgust.
“You think carving up her face erases twenty years of neglect?” she asked. “Stop acting. You got blood on my floor.”
My heart sank. She wasn’t impressed.
Amelia walked over to Livia and me. She squatted down, her lips curling into a dangerous smile.
“Let me translate your behavior: ‘We’re broke, and you are our ATM. Am I right?”
Livia started to sob. “We are victims too!”
Amelia stood up and dusted off her hands.
“Save your tears for the eviction notice, Mother,” she said coldly. “You’ll need them.”
Eviction? I panicked.
“Livia,” I barked. “Drag this bleeding trash to the dungeon.”

“Wait.” Amelia’s voice stopped us. “Livia. Now this house… the name on the deed is mine. Not Grandpa’s. Not Adrian’s. Mine.”
Livia gasped. “But Adrian is hurt! Caleb just woke up!”
Amelia didn’t blink.
“You have one hour to pack,” she stated. “Take what you can carry. If you are still here at six, I will call the Enforcers to throw you out like garbage.”
Livia looked at Alpha Alaric for help. He remained silent.
“The Stone River Pack’s future belongs to Amelia,” Alaric announced finally.
He ordered the guards to take the butler, Harvey, to the dungeon for interrogation. Then, leaning on his escorts, Alaric walked out without looking back.
(Caleb’s POV)
The room emptied. Jaxon and his family left.
Amelia turned to leave with Theodore.
I gritted my teeth against the pain. I pushed myself up from the sofa, my legs shaking.
“Amelia!” I gasped.
I reached out a trembling hand to stop her.
Amelia dodged my touch like I was a plague. She looked at me with repulsion.
“Don’t call me sister,” she warned. “It makes me sick. Don’t forget what you did to me before you went into that coma.”
My hand froze. I remembered cutting her brakes.
My wolf, Noah, whined in grief. I clutched my head, hating myself.
“Amelia…” I rasped. “It was the high dose of Wolfsbane… It paralyzed my body, but it trapped my consciousness in the dark. I heard every word Celine said. I saw her true face… I realized how wrong I was.”
I looked at her with tears in my eyes, desperate.
“As long as you are willing to forgive me, I would even die for you.”
