Chapter 188: Choose Your Death

Chapter 188: Choose Your Death

(Amelia’s POV)

Willing to die for me?I repeated his words, the corners of my mouth lifting into a cold, sharp arc.

My eyes held absolutely no emotion, only a deep, bottomless mockery. Facing Caleb’s seemingly heartbroken repentance, I felt nothing. There was no ripple in my heart, only a frozen wasteland.

No! Caleb, don’t do this!Livia shrieked in terror. She rushed forward, grabbing his arm with a desperate grip. You just woke up! Don’t be stupid! We are a family!

She was crying loudly, trying to stage a heartwarming family drama right in front of me.

Save it, Livia,” I said, cutting through her wails. I didn’t hide my disdain for this pathetic farce.

I turned my head to look at Natasha and her werewolf friends standing by the door. My tone was flat, as if I were ordering a simple dinner. Go into the house. Find some tools that can be used to end a life. Anything will do, as long as it kills.

Natasha and her team moved with efficiency. Within moments, the coffee table was lined with a terrifying array of items.

There was a sharp silver knife that glinted under the lights, a sturdy rope woven with silver threads, and a heavy pistol loaded with silver bullets. I reached into my pocket and placed a vial of Concentrated Wolfsbane on the table.

Come on, Caleb,I said, gesturing to the lethal items like a generous host offering appetizers.

Pick one.

I pointed to the knife casually. This one is messy. Then the poison. This one burns.

Caleb stared at the table full of murder weapons. His body went stiff, and his face turned the color of ash. I laughed internally. Although he claimed he was willing to atone with his life, when death was concretely placed in front of him, biological fear took over.

*Look at him,* Ava scoffed in my mind, blowing a dismissive breath. *Hypocritical male. He is terrified. His vows are as fragile as morning dew.*

What’s wrong? Hesitating?I stepped closer, looming over him.

Caleb, I didn’t save you to hear your apologies. And I certainly didn’t save you so you could find relief through the coward’s way out.

O

My voice dropped low, cruel and unforgiving. Death is too cheap for you. You need to live. Live with the memory that *you* destroyed this family with your own hands. Live with the regret that you abandoned your biological sister for a fraud.

Caleb opened his mouth, wanting to explain his stupidity, but I cut off his retreat.

Your life has no value to me,I stated. Dead or alive, I don’t care. But I want you to breathe. I want you to stay alive and watch clearly as you lose everything because you tried to protect that perfect daughter.

I didn’t bother looking at them again. They weren’t worth my anger.

I turned and walked toward the door, leaving my final warning behind me. My tone wasn’t threatening; it was the absolute confidence of someone who held the power of life and death.

One last thing. Don’t use this as an excuse to approach me. If you appear in front of me again, I won’t be so generous with my healing potions.

I walked out. To me, these people were no longer family. They weren’t even enemies worth hating. They were just dust on the side of the road.

(Caleb’s POV)

I watched Amelia’s back disappear through the door. My knees gave out, and I collapsed to the

floor.

A massive wave of emptiness and despair drowned me. I knew I deserved this. The sister who once craved my affection was truly dead. She was killed by my own hands.

The unbearable pain in my chest quickly twisted into a burning rage. I whipped my head around. My eyes locked onto Celine, who was lying unconscious on the floor.

I stood up on shaking legs and walked over to her.

I lifted my foot and stomped down hard on her already broken hand. I ground my heel into the bone, crushing it.

Ahhh!Celine screamed, jolted awake by the agony. Her voice was shrill and broken. She nearly passed out again from the shock.

I gritted my teeth, my eyes burning with the fire of destruction. You will pay for your sins,I hissed. I will make you spend the rest of your life repaying what you owe. I will make you live, Celine. You will watch Amelia rise to the top while you rot in the mud.

(Theodore’s POV)

We left the West House. Amelia’s expression remained perfectly calm.

She turned to Natasha. We need to control the narrative,” she ordered coolly. Organize everything that happened here. Release the truth and the evidence immediately. I don’t want to see them playing the victim later, making up stories about how I abandoned my recovering brother.

Got it,” Natasha said, nodding sharply. She went to arrange the media release.

I walked with Amelia to the East House to see Jaxon. It was time to formally visit her maternal

familythe Greys.

As soon as we entered, Alpha Edmund and Matriarch Helena greeted us warmly.

Alpha Edmund looked at his granddaughter, his eyes full of appreciation. You handled matters with composure and decisive action. You have the potential to be a true Pack ruler. You are

destined to rule.

Amelia greeted the two elders respectfully, showing the confidence of an Alpha.

Matriarch Helena smiled broadly, but then she turned a meaningful gaze toward me. Her tone carried a hint of pressure. Theodore, aside from the Greys, there is the Crimson family. If that crazy old woman from the Drake family tries to cause trouble, you must protect Amelia well.” Before I could answer, Amelia smiled and interrupted her grandmother.

She held my hand and looked Helena straight in the eye. Her tone was halfjoking but incredibly serious. Grandma, thank you for the support. Theo is indeed a great backup. But let’s get one thing straight. If the Drakes dare to come for me, *they* are the ones who will need protection, not

me.

I looked at the brilliant woman beside me. My heart swelled with love and pride.

I chuckled lightly and addressed the elders. That’s right. My main job is probably just holding her bag while she beats them up.
