(Amelia’s POV)

At two in the afternoon, I was spreading my herbs to dry in the courtyard when I heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, I saw a man standing before me.

“Are you Amelia, my newly returned sister?” he asked coldly.

He appeared to be in his mid–twenties, with features somewhat similar to Caleb’s, though less rebellious and more calculating. I immediately recognized him as Ethan Stone, Adrian’s eldest son.

I continued arranging my herbs without looking up. “Yes, I’m Amelia. But since you’ve come looking for me, you should know I’m no longer your sister.”

Ethan’s jaw tightened. “I thought Caleb was exaggerating, but now I see he wasn’t. You truly are arrogant, not even acknowledging your own brother.”

His voice carried an edge of anger. “Since you know who I am, why do you maintain this attitude?”

I finally looked up, my eyes filled with contempt and mockery. “With the way your entire family behaves, I’d have this same attitude even if my parents themselves showed up.”

Ethan’s expression darkened, and I felt the chill of Alpha power radiating from him. “Now I understand. You truly don’t deserve any courtesy from me.”

He stepped closer. “I was away on business these past few days. Today, Caleb told me your demanded Celine leave Stone River Pack immediately upon your return. He said you even slapped her yesterday. Is that true?”

As he spoke, Ethan deliberately stepped on my freshly laid herbs, grinding them under his shoe until they were crushed to bits.

I paused, slowly rising to meet his gaze directly. Instead of answering his question, I said flatly, “I’ll give you one chance.”

Ethan frowned. “What chance?”

“A chance to restore the herbs you just destroyed,” replied calmly.

He stared at me for a moment, then burst into laughter. “Caleb was right. You truly don’t know your place.”

His eyes narrowed. “And if I refuse?” He lifted his foot and deliberately crushed another herb

I didn’t try to stop him. “Do you know how much those herbs you just trampled are worth?”

“They’re just wild weeds,” he said icily. “Worthless–just

like you.

I named the figure without hesitation. “At least fifty million. They would start at ten million at the Northgate City auction house.”

I continued, “This noon, your mother came to me with ten million, thinking that would be enough for me to acknowledge them again. I refused because ten million doesn’t even equal the value of

one herb I cultivate.”

Ethan’s eyes grew colder with each word. “I didn’t come here to waste time talking with you.”

“So how do you plan to compensate me?” I asked. “Cash or bank transfer?”

“Amelia!” he shouted in fury.

“If you don’t want to pay, we’ll have to find another form of compensation,” I said. “Perhaps that foot of yours that crushed my two herbs will do–though I doubt it’s worth nearly that much.”

My wolf Ava whispered in my mind: “This foolish man has no idea of our true strength.”

Ethan finally snapped. He grabbed my collar, pulling me close. “Keep talking nonsense and I’ll kill you myself.”

I laughed softly. “Unfortunately, before you manage to kill me, you might find yourself dead first.”

He took a deep breath. “You clearly won’t listen to reason.”

He called out sharply, and four bodyguards immediately rushed in, surrounding me. Ethan ordered them to seize me and take me away.

Two bodyguards stepped forward. I didn’t resist as they grabbed me and dragged me from the villa, shoving me into a waiting car. The vehicle sped away quickly.

(Celine’s POV)

From my bedroom window, I watched the entire scene unfold, a slow smile spreading across my

face.

I had guessed that when Caleb stormed off to Starlight Entertainment today, he would tell our older brother about how I’d been mistreated. But I hadn’t expected that I held such an important place in Ethan’s heart that he would personally come to settle accounts with Amelia so quickly.

Unlike Caleb, who only uses harsh words or inflicts superficial injuries, Ethan is different. I remember when a boy in middle school merely flirted with me and touched me a few times. When

just a payment of money.

I wondered if Amelia would escape unscathed after slapping me.

(Amelia’s POV)

Two hours later, the bodyguards roughly pulled me from the car and shoved me into an abandoned factory. I regained my balance and surveyed my surroundings, I smiled.

Bringing me to such a remote location meant they truly intended to hurt me badly. Although I’d known how much they adored Celine and how little they cared for their own sister, I hadn’t expected them all to be so heartless.

It made the suffering I’d endured these past twenty years feel even more bitter. I would need to release some of this frustration.

Ethan ordered two bodyguards to guard the entrance while he and the other two followed me inside. He instructed them to close the factory doors.

He approached me with a cold smile. “No one will know what happens to you here.”

I nodded in agreement, my lips curving upward. “Indeed, this is a perfect place. No one will know what happens.”

I Ethan’s eyes were utterly merciless. “I’m not like my younger brother. I don’t have his patience. When I can use force, I never waste time with words.”

“Oh?” I responded simply.

He adopted a magnanimous expression. “Since you are my sister by blood, I’ll be considerate. You’ve just returned to Stone River Pack and don’t understand the rules yet. I’ll give you a chance- kneel down and apologize to Celine, then slap yourself one hundred times in front of her. If you do that, I’ll let you go today.”

I was truly amazed by his audacity. I looked up at him with mockery in my eyes. “So you do remember I’m your blood sister? Are you certain you want to be this cruel to your own sister for the sake of an adopted one?”

Ethan’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
