Chapter 202: Stabbing the Heart
Chapter 202: Stabbing the Heart
(Amelia’s POV)
Ethan looked at me with those pleading eyes, trying to play the family card. I felt nothing but cold indifference. Inside my mind, my wolf, Ava, let out a snort of disdain.
**Pathetic,” she growled. *“He calls himself an Alpha? He smells like regret and weakness.“*
I leaned forward slightly, resting my hands on the mahogany desk.
“If you want to keep the last shred of dignity as a former CEO,” I said, my voice icy, you better pack your personal items and roll out of this building right now.”
Ethan flinched.
“Otherwise,” I continued, checking my nails, “I don’t mind having security throw you out like the trash you are.”
Ethan stared at me for a long moment. Finally, his shoulders slumped. He let out a heavy, defeated sigh.
“Fine,” he whispered.
He moved stiffly, beginning to clear his desk. His movements were mechanical until his hand paused over a silver picture frame. I watched his gaze fixate on it. It was a photo of him, Caleb, and Celine, smiling together.
His hand trembled slightly. That photo represented the ‘perfect family‘ he thought he was protecting. Now, it looked like a cruel joke.
Ethan grabbed the frame. Without a second of hesitation, he tossed it into the wastebasket
beside the desk.
*Thud.*
The sound of the glass hitting the metal bottom was final.
He finished packing a small cardboard box and walked over to me. He placed a set of spare keys from the drawer onto the desk surface.
“Amelia,” he said, his voice low and raspy. “Father and I… we realize we were wrong.”
He looked at me with a mix of guilt and hope.

“If you face any obstacles taking over Starlight, you can contact us. We want to help.”
I picked up the keyring. I spun it around my index finger, the metal jingling softly.
“Not needed,” I cut him off.
I looked him straight in the eye.
“I have my father and five influential uncles in this industry backing me,” I said calmly. “The Stone family’s meager resources? I don’t care for them.”
Ethan froze. He knew exactly who I was talking about. I wasn’t referring to Adrian. I was talking about the powerful Grey family, my adoptive mother Seraphina’s kin.
The bitterness rose in his throat, visible in the way he swallowed hard. He nodded slowly, turning away. His footsteps were heavy as he walked out of the office.
Through the glass walls, I watched him stop in the open office area.
“Listen up,” Ethan announced to the silent room. “Amelia Stone is now the sole owner of Starlight Entertainment. You will cooperate with her fully.”
He took one last look around the empire he had built, then walked alone toward the elevator. The employees watched him go. Whispers immediately broke out.
“Can she really run this place?”
“She grew up in the countryside…”
I ignored them. The office door clicked shut, leaving a heavy silence in the room.
Caleb was still sitting on the sofa. His eyes followed me as I sat down in the executive chair. There was a flicker of anxiety and hope in his gaze.
“Amelia,” he said cautiously. “You kicked Ethan out, but not me. Is it because… you still care about me as a brother?”
I let out a short, harsh laugh.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” I said coldly.
Caleb flinched as if I had slapped him.
“I didn’t kick you out immediately because your scandal has temporarily died down,” I explained, opening a file. “But let’s be clear. During your coma, you created zero value. You only brought negative press.”

I looked up at him, my expression void of emotion.
“From a business perspective, you are a liability. I have decided to terminate your contract.”
I turned to the trembling secretary.
“Anya, find Caleb Stone’s artist contract. I’m initiating unilateral termination and seeking damages for breach of contract.”
(Caleb’s POV)
The word “termination” hit me like a physical blow. My face went pale.
“No!” I scrambled up from the sofa.
I practically threw myself at the desk, gripping the edge.
“Amelia, please!” I begged, my voice cracking. “I don’t want any compensation. I’ll pay the penalty fee myself! Just don’t kick me out of Starlight.”
Amelia leaned back in the leather chair. She looked at me like I was an ant she could crush at
any moment.
“I’m the boss now,” she said. “I make the rules.”
Panic clawed at my chest. My eyes burned. I couldn’t lose this connection to her. It was the only one I had left.
“I’ll sign a new contract!” I blurted out desperately. “A lifetime contract. I don’t want any money. No split. The company can keep 100% of my earnings. Even if I become a top star again, I won’t take a dime!”
It was a slave contract. No sane wolf would offer it.
But Amelia just sneered. The disgust in her eyes deepened.
“What do you take me for?” she asked. “If I signed that, what would the public think? That I’m a cold–blooded capitalist exploiting her own brother?”
She shook her head.
“I have no interest in taking on that kind of PR risk.”
My heart hammered against my ribs. I felt like I was burning alive in my own desperation.
I raised my right hand.
“I swear on my wolf, Noah!” I cried out. “I will never expose the contract details. Please,

Amelia. Just give me a chance to make amends. Use me. I don’t care.
Next to us, Anya gasped. She stared at me with wide eyes. She had never seen the arrogant Caleb Stone beg like a dog before.
Amelia stood up. She towered over me, her sapphire eyes piercing through my soul.
“I have plenty of ways to make money,” she said dismissively. “I don’t need to use a washed–up singer with a history of scandals.”
My head dropped. Shame washed over me. She was right. I was useless right now.
But I couldn’t give up. I jerked my head up, staring at her with the last shred of my determination.
“I will make myself useful,” I vowed. “Amelia, give me time. I will fix everything I broke.”
(Amelia’s POV)
I watched him pleading for redemption. It was ironic. He wanted to fix things?
I decided to shatter his delusions completely.
“Since you want to make amends,” I said, a cruel smile curving my lips. “I’ll let you die knowing the truth.”
I walked around the desk, stopping right in front of him.
“Regarding the online hate storm after the welcome banquet,” I began slowly. “Besides my counterattack, there was another force smearing your name.”
Caleb blinked, confused.
“It was your beloved sister, Celine,” I revealed.
Caleb froze.
“She hired bot farms to slander you,” I continued, enjoying the horror dawning on his face. “Her goal was to intensify the hatred between us. She wanted you to be the sacrificial pawn in her war against me.”
“No…” Caleb whispered.
His body began to shake violently. Tears welled in his red–rimmed eyes.
“Don’t say her name,” he choked out. “Please.”
I ignored his plea. Ava roared with pleasure in my mind.

I stepped closer, my voice dropping to a lethal whisper.
“You tried to harm me for Celine. You almost died in that car crash for her.”

“And when you woke up, you found out that the precious sister you protected with your life was the one stabbing you in the back.”
I smiled coldly.
“Isn’t that feeling just wonderful?”
