Chapter 214: Provoking the Beast
Chapter 214: Provoking the Beast
(Amelia’s POV)
I ignored the betting taunts in the Northgate Elite group chat.
Instead, I focused on the confidential files my uncle Donovan Grey had meticulously compiled about Northgate City’s entertainment companies.
Donovan had carefully marked which companies were secretly controlled by the Drake family. He’d also highlighted which artists under their management had scandals just waiting to explode.
My phone buzzed. Silas’s name flashed on the screen.
“It’s done,” she reported. “The deepfake video swapping Carlos’s mistress with Griffin went live ten minutes ago. The werewolf community’s networks are on fire.”
Ava let out a pleased whimper in my mind. She was thoroughly satisfied with this precise revenge.
I smiled. Griffin’s reckoning had begun.
“Send me Griffin’s private number,” I instructed.
“Already texted it to you,” Silas confirmed. “What about Celine?”
“Handle her,” I said coldly. “I heard Adrian’s family wants to hand her over to the Drake family for
disposal.”
My eyes narrowed. That wouldn’t do at all.
“Change of plans,” I continued. “Deliver Celine to her biological father, Chuck Haden. The gambling–addicted rogue wolf.”
Silas was silent for a moment, then chuckled darkly. “Understood. He’s drownin squeeze every last bit of value from her.”
He’ll
“Exactly,” I said. “Once that father–daughter pair has tormented each other enough, we’ll hand their evidence over to the enforcement squad. Let all three of them reunite in prison.”
I hung up and stared at my phone.
Celine was dealt with. Next came Griffin.
I opened social media and found the high–definition video. Watching the usually arrogant Alpha being mocked and ridiculed sent a thrill through me
Ava was practically howling with excitement in my mind. She urged me to deliver the final blow to
our prey.

I decided to personally add fuel to Griffin’s rage.
I dialed his private number.
The phone rang twice before connecting. A man’s voice came through, extrem
ice–cold.
“Who is this?”
“Good evening, Griffin,” I said cheerfully. “It’s Amelia Stone.”
His breathing became instantly heavy. I could hear teeth grinding on the other end.
“How dare you call me,” he snarled.

I kept my tone light and mocking. “Why wouldn’t I dare? I haven’t done anything illegal or immoral. I don’t have any scandalous videos exposing me to the world. So naturally, I can call whoever I
want.”
A loud crash echoed through the phone. Something expensive had just been destroyed.
I knew Griffin was losing control.
“What do you want?” he forced out, his voice shaking with barely contained fury.
“I wanted to congratulate you,” I said sweetly. “Your intimate video with your uncle Carlos is
trending. The entire werewolf community has seen your beauty and physique up close. You must
be so proud.”
A beast–like roar erupted from the phone.
I let out a cold laugh. “I warned Matriarch Octavia before. I know every dirty secret the Drake family
has buried.”
My voice dropped, becoming lethal. “If you provoke me again, I will erase the entire Drake family from the Northern Territories‘ werewolf map. Completely.”
I didn’t give him a chance to respond.
I hung up.
The image of Griffin’s furious face filled my mind. I felt deeply satisfied.
Ava purred contentedly. *Well done.*
(Amelia’s POV)
I set my phone down and stretched.
Theodore would arrive soon for our movie night. I wanted to finish reviewing Donovan’s files

The entertainment industry in Northgate City was a tangled web. The Drake family had their claws in at least fifteen major production companies.
Donovan had highlighted three in red.
Gale Entertainment was the most obvious. Alpha Arthur York was Griffin’s
But there were two others. Smaller companies that specialized in “training centers” for young artists.
My stomach turned as I read the details.
These weren’t legitimate talent agencies. They were trafficking fronts. Young wolves, mostly
Omegas and low–ranking pack members, were lured in with promises of stardom.
Instead, they were trapped. Abused. Sold.
Ava growled in my mind. *Disgusting.*
I agreed completely.
My phone buzzed again. This time it was a message from Jade.
She’d sent me an audio file.
I pressed play.
Griffin’s voice filled the room, clear and damning.
*“The original video… it was Carlos with one of his mistresses. I intended to use Al technology to swap that woman’s face with Amelia’s…“*
I smiled slowly.
Perfect.
This recording proved Griffin had orchestrated the deepfake attack. When he in
claim he was the victim tomorrow, this would destroy his defense.
I saved the file to three separate encrypted drives.

Then I forwarded it to Marcus with instructions. “Release this if Griffin tries to spin the narrative.
Make sure every major news outlet gets a copy.”
Marcus replied immediately. “Understood.”
I leaned back in my chair.
Griffin was trapped. Every move he made now would only tighten the noose.

Ava was practically vibrating with anticipation. *When do we finish him?*
“Soon,” I murmured. “But not yet. Let him suffer first”

(Caleb’s POV)
The night had fallen completely by the time I pulled up to Derek Crimson’s villa.
It was nine o’clock.
I’d barely stopped the car when I saw a figure being thrown out through the iron gates like
garbage.
My heart lurched.
It was Ethan.
Derek stood inside the gate, his face twisted with disgust. “Get lost! Don’t die on my property and bring bad luck!”
I bolted from the car and ran to my brother’s side.
Ethan was covered in dirt and grime. His face was a mess of bruises and silver whip marks. Someone had beaten him brutally.
His skin was deathly pale. His brow was furrowed in agony. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead. Worst of all, black–red blood kept spilling from the corner of his mouth, staining his white shirt.
I glared at Derek. “What did you do to him?”
Derek shrugged. “Nothing. He showed up like this. Not my problem.”
He gestured to his guards. They slammed the gate shut in my face.
Noah howled in my mind. *Save him! Now!*
I didn’t waste time arguing.
I hauled Ethan up and half–carried, half–dragged him back to the car. I shoved him into the passenger seat and grabbed tissues to wipe the blood from his mouth.
“Ethan! What happened?” I demanded.
His eyes fluttered open. His voice was barely a whisper. “The poison… it’s activating.”
My blood ran cold.
The poison.
The one Amelia had given him when he’d tried to save Celine.

“The pain…” Ethan gasped. His whole body trembled. “It’s like my bones are being shattered from the inside. Over and over.”
I gripped the steering wheel.
Only Amelia could cure this. Only she had the antidote.
