Chapter 22: Reunion with Theodore

(Ethan’s POV)

“You need to stay conscious,” Amelia said coldly, holding up another silver needle. “Otherwise, I’ll wake you up with this.”

She continued using the silver knife, methodically severing the tendons in my leg. The pain was unbearable, white–hot agony shooting through my entire body. I screamed again, my face draining of all color, but this time I fought to stay conscious.

Amelia nodded with satisfaction. “Good. You’re learning.”

She wiped the blood from the blade onto my pants. “I’ve only crippled your right leg because your used your right foot to crush my two rare medicinal herbs. If you had used both feet, I would have crippled both your legs today.”

She tossed the knife aside with a clatter. From her pocket, she produced a small vial containing a clear liquid.

“This is the antidote that will allow you to move freely again,” she explained, forcing the liquid down my throat. “Go ahead, try to stand up. Let’s see if your right leg still works.”

The antidote worked quickly. The paralysis receded from my body, leaving only the searing pain in my leg. I gritted my teeth and placed both hands on the ground, pushing myself up.

Horror washed over me as I tried to put weight on my right leg. There was no strength left in it- only excruciating pain. I staggered, barely keeping myself upright by leaning against the wall.

I tried to summon my alpha power, but there was no response. I called out to my wolf, but only silence answered.

My heart froze as the reality hit me. My leg was truly crippled.

“No,” I whispered, unable to accept what had happened. “This can’t be happening.”

I had come here to teach Amelia a lesson, to defend Celine’s honor. Instead, I was the one who had been permanently damaged. My pride, my status as Alpha Heir, my future–all of it shattered in an

instant.

I clutched my head and began to whimper. “I don’t want to be a cripple! I can’t be a cripple!”

Amelia watched my breakdown with cold disinterest. “I expected more from you, brother. You can’t even handle having one leg crippled without falling apart.”

Chapter 27 Reunion with Theodore

(Amelia’s POV)

I turned to leave. Suddenly, the sound of applause echoed through the abandoned factory

I spun around, surprised to see Theodore Crimson behind me. Marcus was pushing his wheelchair as they approached. Theodore’s eyes gleamed with appreciation

“I came to see the place where my own legs were crippled, Theodore said with a smile. “I never expected to witness such an impressive scene.”

The realization hit me suddenly. “You were also crippled at this abandoned factory

Theodore nodded, running his hand over his legs. His golden eyes darkened as he quietly admitted, “Like your brother, I was completely conscious as I felt my legs gradually losing sensation

I wasn’t particularly skilled at offering comfort. During my twenty years in the Meadow Brook Pack I had faced many life–threatening situations. I hadn’t survived on consolation but by becoming

stronger.

“Since I promised to heal your legs, I will definitely succeed,” I assured him with confidence. Theodore looked into my eyes and smiled. “I believe you.”

He

led a small white handkerchief from his pocket and wheeled his chair closer to me. With gentle movements, he began wiping the blood from my hands.

“It seems your life in the Stone River Pack isn’t as easy as you claimed,” he remarked softly.

I shrugged. “It’s actually quite easy. I just easily dealt with one problem.”

I walked behind Theodore’s wheelchair and began pushing him toward the exit. “What exactly

happened here that caused you to be paralyzed from the waist down? I’m bored and don’t want t return to the Stone Estate just yet.”

“I’ll tell you if you want to know,” Theodore replied.

“Have you ever done such thoughtful things for Celine?” I teased, referring to his gentle gesture with the handkerchief.

“No,” Theodore answered simply.

Marcus, who had been silently observing, added, “My Alpha has indeed never done such things f anyone else.”

I continued my teasing. “So I’m the first?”

Theodore candidly admitted, “Yes, you are.”

Chapter 22 Reunion with

After cleaning the blood from my hands, Theodore tossed the bloodied handkerchief to the ground and wheeled his chair back slightly. “The honor is mine.”

Theodore glanced at Ethan, who was still slumped against the wall, whimpering in pain. “How do you plan to explain crippling the Stone River Pack’s Alpha Heir when you return to the Stone Estate?”

I shrugged nonchalantly. “I was considering poisoning him to make him mute and breaking both his hands so he couldn’t reveal what happened.”

Ethan’s face filled with terror upon hearing this. “You–you’ve known each other all along?” he asked in alarm, looking at us. He began dragging himself toward the door, his useless right leg trailing behind him.

Theodore watched Ethan’s pathetic crawling with amusement. “That’s a good idea, but I can take care of him for you.”

“It’s a family matter,” I declined. “I don’t want to trouble you.”

“As your future mate, your problems are my problems,” Theodore countered smoothly.

I laughed. “Are you really this kind to a woman for the first time?”

I walked over to Ethan, who was desperately crawling toward the factory exit, and blocked his path. From my pocket, I took out another vial and forced a pill down his throat.

Ethan coughed repeatedly, trying to spit the pill out, but it was too late–it had already gone down his throat. His eyes widened with panic.

“What kind of medicine did you give me?” he asked, his voice trembling with fear.
