Chapter 284: The Missing Link
Chapter 284: The Missing Link
(Amelia’s POV)
I gripped my phone tightly.
My thoughts raced like electric currents, stitching together the scattered clues.
The name Jade mentioned-“Glenda.”

It was a key that instantly unlocked a dusty memory. I remembered Theodore mentioning the notorious trafficker who had abducted his biological brother years ago. Her code name was “The
Hag.”
According to the intelligence Theodore had pried from Theron, everything pointed back to that
woman.
My heart sank. This Glenda was likely related to The Hag. She might even be her daughter.
Deep in my consciousness, Ava paced anxiously.
“That name carries the scent of rot, Amelia,” she growled low in her throat, her voice dripping with disgust. “It is the stench of a demon who steals pups. It is revolting.”
“I know, Ava. Quiet down.”
I soothed the restless wolf in my mind while my fingers flew across the screen, replying to Jade.
“This lead is incredibly valuable,” I said into the phone, my tone turning serious. “But Jade, listen to me. Griffin has taken Celine. That man is as suspicious as a startled fox. He will be monitoring everything.”
I paused, emphasizing my warning.
“Contacting me this frequently is like walking on thin ice.”
On the other end, Jade’s voice came through with a resolute calmness I had never heard from the once–spoiled Alpha’s daughter.
“If I don’t take risks, I won’t get anything,” Jade said. “My father, Arthur, has already brought that illegitimate son, Hugh, into Gale Entertainment. If Hugh takes over the company, I won’t have the face to see my mother in the afterlife.”
Jade paused, her tone growing heavier.
“Amelia, I have already drafted my will. If anything happens to me, my lawyer will deliver a signed share transfer agreement to you. My only request is… help me get revenge.”

Chapter 284. The Missing Link
My fingers tightened around the phone. A sliver of respect for my former rival rose in my chest
“Don’t say such foolish things,” I said quickly. “I will send you a package immediately. It contains a micro–device developed by Umbra Analytics. It not only provides real–time tracking but also features a high–voltage electric shock function for self–defense.”
I continued, my voice firm.
“Once you are subjected to a strong impact or activate it manually I will receive an alert instantly Protect yourself.”
There was silence on the other end for a moment. Then, Jade’s light laughter came through, as if
she had unloaded a heavy burden.
“Thank you, Amelia,” she said softly. “Since my mother passed, everyone only locks at my face or calculates which Pack to marry me into as a bargaining chip. Only you… actually care if I live ar
die.”
Her words brushed against my heart like a feather.
It reminded me of my days in the Meadow Brook Pack. Although I didn’t have the love of my biological father, Alpha Adrian, my adoptive father Robert and Uncle Jaxon’s family gave me true
warmth.
“Don’t be so negative and morbid,” I comforted her gently. “The ones who should be punished are Arthur, who betrayed his mate vows, the woman who destroyed a mate bond, and the illegitimate son trying to steal what belongs to you. You are not at fault.”
“Yes,” Jade sighed with emotion. “I used to think that as a female Alpha, I could only submit to fate. But seeing you… I decided not to endure in silence anymore. I want to be a ruthless hunter, not prey waiting to be slaughtered.”
“I look forward to seeing that,” I said with a smile. “You know, I’ve always been a good listener, just like I am with Natasha.”
After hanging up, I looked out at the deep night sky outside the window.
I made a decision.
I could not tell Theodore about my suspicion that “Glenda” might be related to his missing brother just yet. Theodore had already suffered too many disappointments.
I needed concrete evidence to avoid giving him false hope.

I watched the dancing flames, feeling Logan’s restlessness, and soothed him into silence.

Despite the turmoil inside me caused by the potential clue about my biological brother, my surface remained terrifyingly calm. I sat before the chessboard, holding a piece between my fingers, playing against my grandfather, Gideon.
I knew that only by solidifying my power as the heir could I provide absolute protection for my brother when I found him. I would not let anyone harm him ever again.
Just then, the phone on the edge of the table vibrated. It was Beta Marcus.
I answered the call, my gaze never leaving the chessboard.
“Speak.”
“Alpha,” Marcus’s voice came through the receiver. “We found something. The trafficker nicknamed ‘The Hag‘ died twenty–two years ago, but she left a daughter before vanishing.”
Marcus paused before delivering the critical intel.
“Recent investigations show a ‘Women’s Finishing School‘ in Northgate City specifically for female wolves aspiring to marry into high–ranking Packs.”
My eyes narrowed slightly.
“The proprietress of that school,” Marcus continued, “is named ‘Glenda‘. And we need to be careful–this woman has close private ties with Griffin Drake.”
I listened to the report, my fingers gently rubbing the cold chess piece.
Although I couldn’t be one hundred percent sure this Glenda was The Hag’s daughter, my instincts told me the direction was correct.
“Arrange for ‘The Seasons‘ elite squad to conduct round–the–clock surveillance,” I ordered coldly. “If Griffin is also looking for that lost child, and he actually finds him… we will use that.”
My voice dropped lower.
“Wait until he thinks he has succeeded, then we seize the opportunity to take him back.”
“Yes, Alpha. We will watch them like hawks. We won’t let your brother fall into Griffin’s hands.” After hanging up, I slammed the chess piece down onto the board.
“One hit kill.”
Sitting opposite me, Gideon looked up, his sharp eyes scrutinizing his grandson.
“You have a lead?”
“Yes, Grandfather,” I admitted frankly. “We have made a breakthrough.”

Gideon nodded, his voice grave as he offered a render
“You must find that child as soon as possible, and
that the previous ‘Ronart was a fake, that mad dog to use as a bargaining chip against you?
must be kept secret. Once Griffin dies
stop at nothing to find your real brother first
Logan let out a roar filled with killing intent, eager to tear apart any enemy who dared threaten our family.
1 looked up, a cold glint flashing in my eyes. My tone was flat, yet it carried absolute authority
“I know, Grandfather. Even if Griffin really finds my brother before I do, I will never give him any chance to threaten the pack”
