chest, filled with hostility and territorial aggression.

“Drive this mongrel away,” the wolf snarled in his mind, pacing restlessly. “He dares to covet our mate.”

Theodore remained outwardly calm, his face a mask of indifference. He soothed the agitated beast within his consciousness, asserting control with a firm mental command. Turning his head, he spoke gently to the imposing elderly figure beside him.
