Chapter 396: Let Lance Stay and Atone Properly
(Author’s POV)
Lance was completely unprepared for Amelia’s sudden, aggressive action. The heavy kick carried pure, unadulterated werewolf strength from her powerful legs.
He was instantly sent crashing down toward the hard dining room floor. He fell directly onto his knees with a loud, painful thud that shook the wooden boards.
Jaxon and Seraphina were utterly shocked by this sudden, violent display. They exchanged a bewildered look across the elegant dining table covered in expensive porcelain.
They simply could not understand why their daughter would suddenly attack Lance. The male had only
just recovered from his previous severe injuries.
However, their initial shock quickly faded into calm acceptance. They understood perfectly well that
Lance was a deeply scheming and dangerous werewolf.
There was absolutely no need to play by any fair rules with a manipulative enemy like him. Direct, brutal
violence was clearly the most effective way to deal with his kind.
Kneeling on the floor, Lance’s eyes instantly turned red with unshed tears. He looked up with an extremely aggrieved expression on his handsome face.
His voice trembled pitifully as he asked Amelia what she was doing. Amelia did not waste a single word
on his pathetic, dramatic act.
A dangerous, predatory green light flashed sharply in her sapphire blue eyes. She raised her slender leg
and delivered another vicious kick straight to his face.
The powerful blow sent Lance tumbling backward onto the floor. Jaxon and Seraphina found the bloody
scene a bit too violent for a peaceful morning.
However, they tacitly lowered their heads in complete silence. They continued cutting the venison sausages and fried eggs on their plates, pretending they saw absolutely nothing.
Amelia slowly bent down over the fallen male. She raised her hand and mockingly patted Lance’s proud,
hypocritical face.
She let out a cold, disdainful sneer at his ridiculous words. She loudly mocked his so–called desire for true
atonement.
Did he honestly think eating breakfast and chatting counted as paying for his mother’s grave sins? She
coldly stated that physical beatings and immense pain were the only forms of true atonement.
Lance’s heart raced with intense panic on the cold floor. He completely failed to understand Amelia’s

Still, he forced his bruised face into a harmless, gentle smile. He softly stated that if beating him vented
their anger, he was entirely willing to bear it.
Before his sickening words could even finish echoing in the room, Amelia clenched her fist. She threw a
heavy, brutal punch directly into his face.
The massive force of her knuckles cracked against his jaw. The blinding pain almost made him
completely lose his fake, gentle disguise.
Amelia slowly rolled her shoulders and cracked her knuckles. The sharp popping sounds echoed loudly in
the quiet dining room.
She coldly told Lance that since he had willingly delivered himself to her doorstep, she would certainly
entertain him well. Real, unhidden fear finally surfaced in Lance’s widened eyes.
Amelia stared down at him and firmly announced her final decision. Lance was now forced to stay at the
Stone family estate until his injuries were completely healed.
She deliberately emphasized those last two words with a dark, threatening tone. It was a clear hint that as long as he remained, she would continuously break his werewolf healing abilities.
She would make absolutely sure that he never fully recovered. Deep within her mind, her silver wolf Ava
wagged her tail in pure excitement.
*”
“Good job,”* Ava praised with a bloodthirsty growl. *“Crushing such a cunning prey with direct force is
exactly the right way to go!“*
Amelia silently agreed with her wolf’s violent assessment. Lance instantly realized her terrifying, endless
torture plan.
He was gripped by absolute terror and desperately tried to refuse her cruel offer. He quickly made up a frantic excuse about needing to leave immediately to find his exiled mother, Lyra.
Amelia did not give him a single chance to finish his pathetic sentence. She unleashed her suffocating werewolf aura and rained heavy punches down on his face.
She struck him repeatedly without a shred of mercy. Seeing both of his cheeks swell up high and turn
purple, Amelia let out a satisfied snort.
She coldly warned him not to back out of his own noble promise. Then, she continued her brutal assault,
punching him left and right.
She beat the handsome male until he was completely black and blue. Blood dripped steadily from his
nose and split lips onto the floor.
Whenever Lance weakly tried to open his mouth to beg for mercy, he would hypocritically call her cousin. Amelia immediately interrupted his fake affection with another devastating punch.

She violently forced him to drop that disgusting, relational title. She demanded that he call her by her real name with absolute awe and fear.
Finally, Lance lay broken on the floor, lacking the strength to speak a single word. Amelia gently patted his tragic, swollen face with a dark smile.
She turned her head and calmly ordered the nearby butler to drag Lance away. He was to be taken back to
The West House and placed under strict, heavy guard.
She firmly commanded that until his wounds were truly healed, he was absolutely forbidden from stepping
a single foot out of that room.
Only after the bleeding Lance was dragged away did Seraphina finally let out a long, heavy sigh of relief.
She set down her silver fork with a trembling hand.
She openly admitted to her daughter that she had been genuinely terrified just moments ago. She truly feared Amelia would soften her heart and actually keep Lance around as part of the family.
Amelia calmly walked back to her chair and sat down gracefully. She picked up her porcelain cup and took
a slow sip of her hot coffee.
She casually stated that she had indeed kept the male around. However, his current stay was strictly
equivalent to a brutal imprisonment.
Seraphina rubbed her arms and fearfully recounted her personal experiences with Lance over the past few days. She admitted that Lance’s psychological disguise was terrifyingly brilliant.
Over these past three days, Lance had not spoken many words to her at all. Yet, he always managed to
quietly cooperate whenever she focused on her fashion design or reading.
He would sit quietly nearby, building intricate forest cabin models or sketching peaceful scenes. He masterfully created a subtle, intoxicating illusion of being deeply understood.
Not only that, but Lance possessed an incredibly sharp ability to sense her fatigue. He would timely offer her a glass of warm water without ever interrupting her focus.
He would seamlessly play soothing background music or perfectly adjust the indoor lighting. Every single
action he took was executed flawlessly and without leaving any deliberate traces.
Seraphina realized the terrifying truth of his silent manipulation. If they had continued living together like this for a long time, she would have likely been brainwashed.
That constant, subtle psychological suggestion would have eventually forced her to trust Lance
unconditionally. She might have even started to doubt her own true daughter’s clear judgment.
Hearing his mate’s fearful confession, Jaxon also smiled helplessly. He shook his head and admitted his
