Chapter 395: Lance’s Sweet Talk
(Author’s POV)
Lance stared at the message Amelia had just sent him on his phone screen. His carefully crafted, charming expression cracked slightly in the dim light of the guest room.
This Amelia Stone was truly as sharp–tongued as the wild rumors claimed. Her harsh words were like sharp daggers aimed straight at his fragile ego.
However, her intense defensiveness only made this game of conquest much more thrilling and interesting. A challenging prey was always far more satisfying to conquer than an easy one.
It would simply take a little more time and effort to break down her icy walls. That was perfectly fine with him right now.
Griffin Drake was currently nursing severe injuries in a hospital bed and had absolutely no time to interfere with him. Lance had plenty of free time to play this little seduction game.
He decided to adopt a clever strategy of taking a step back to gain a permanent advantage later. He quickly typed out a long, careful, and pitiful reply to her.
“You seem to have your guard up very high against me tonight. It seems my mother Lyra indeed did many terrible things to wrong the Stone family.”
“I am truly sorry for that dark history. I sincerely apologize to you, Jaxon, and Seraphina on her behalf.”
“You really do not need to worry about me seeking any sort of violent revenge against you. In a certain way, I actually owe you my deepest thanks.”
“I should thank you for dealing with the arrogant Drake Pack members for me. My father Carlos messed
around outside constantly with other she–wolves.”
“If my mother had not been incredibly ruthless, I would not even know how many illegitimate siblings I would have out there right now. As for my grandmother Octavia, she always heavily favored Griffin over
me.”
“Griffin previously suggested sending me abroad just to completely weaken my power and influence within. the Drake Pack. If you had not helped me deal with Griffin, I would have never seen a day of success.”
“I would have been doomed to live as a useless spendthrift under his shadow forever. Well, I will not disturb your rest any longer tonight.”
“Have a good night, Amelia.” Lance pressed send with a highly confident smirk on his handsome face.
Amelia looked at the highly manipulative message Lance just sent her and only found it completely laughable. This low–level tactic instantly reminded her of her fake sister Celine.

That familiar, disgusting feeling was exactly the same as dealing with that fraud. Lance was essentially
3 just a male version of Celine.
It was no wonder his very presence made her feel utterly sick to her stomach. Deep within her mind, her stunning silver wolf Ava let out a low, contemptuous growl.
“This hypocritical male absolutely reeks of filthy lies,“* Ava snarled in pure disgust. *“I truly want to tear his fake disguise apart with my sharp claws.“*
Amelia gently soothed her angry wolf in her mind to keep her calm. She did not even bother to type out a reply to Lance’s pathetic message.
Instead, she directly dialed a video call to her powerful mate, Theodore Crimson. Seeing Theodore’s
handsome, chiseled face immediately improved her sour mood.
She smiled brightly and casually joked about her current annoying situation. She told him that besides her
foolish ex–mate Damien, another male was currently trying to seduce her.
She revealed that the new, overly confident challenger was none other than Lance. Theodore did not look
surprised by this ridiculous news at all.
He calmly evaluated Lance’s pathetic character with a highly dismissive tone. He stated that Lance merely
relied on his high status and good looks to deceive innocent, simple–minded girls.
Lance arrogantly believed himself to be an absolute master of love and seduction. In reality, the foolish
man severely lacked basic self–awareness regarding his own flaws.
After sharing a few more lighthearted jokes, Theodore’s expression turned incredibly serious. He stated that, by comparison, he actually believed Damien was much more likely to move Amelia’s heart.
Damien was incredibly stupid and blind in the past, but at least his current feelings were entirely sincere. Hearing Damien’s name suddenly made Amelia let out a heavy sigh.
She mentioned that Damien had just sent her another annoying text message. He was eagerly asking if
she liked the expensive gift he had sent her.
Theodore finally confessed the hidden truth to her at that exact moment. He admitted that he had acted as a jealous competitor and intercepted the gift entirely.
He had made sure Amelia never received the package from her ex–mate. Amelia was not angry at all
about his highly possessive actions.
She simply thought Damien was indeed adorably stupid in his current desperate efforts. However, his burning sincerity should absolutely not be wasted on her anymore.
She explained that rejecting him harshly was completely necessary to make him finally sever their past mate bond. Only then could Damien finally start his life fresh with someone else.
The topic soon shifted to their serious business matters and upcoming plans. Theodore informed Amelia
about their latest strategic move against their hidden enemies.

Jasper’s foster father, Uncle M, had successfully infiltrated the heavily guarded Crimson Moon Pack. He
3 was currently working there quietly, disguised as a simple gardener.
Theodore assured her that the rogue wolf was already under their strict, constant surveillance. They reached a firm, mutual agreement regarding their highly anticipated marking ceremony.
Every single person or event that might possibly interfere with their marking ceremony had to be resolved beforehand. They would absolutely not allow anyone to ruin their sacred union.
They would definitely not let a disaster happen like the one that ruined their grand engagement banquet.
After hanging up the video call, Theodore immediately contacted his cousin Natasha. He needed to ask about the current disposal status of Damien’s intercepted gifts.
Natasha replied quickly with a detailed report on the package. She stated that the box contained several
highly valuable items meant to win Amelia over.
However, there was also something much more personal inside the box. It included a roughly made humanoid doll that Damien had clearly crafted with his own hands.
Theodore’s golden eyes instantly turned dark and incredibly cold. The thought of another male
hand–crafting a doll for his mate disgusted him deeply.
He coldly instructed Natasha to pack up every single item immediately. She was to mail all the objects
back to the Blackwood Pack completely untouched.
Theodore put down his phone and leaned back in his dark wheelchair. He thought to himself in the quiet,
empty room.
He genuinely wondered how long a self–righteous fool like Lance could possibly last in Amelia’s ruthless
hands.
Three days passed quickly.
It was time for a quiet morning breakfast at The East House. Amelia sat at the elegant dining table and
looked calmly at Lance, who was sitting right next to her.
She casually mentioned that he had already lived with the Stone family for three full days. Looking at his energetic movements, it seemed his injuries were mostly healed by now.
Over these past three days, Lance had enthusiastically run over to The East House every single morning.
He insisted on eating breakfast together with them.
Amelia and Seraphina had not explicitly refused his daily, annoying presence. Lance even personally
cooked the meals every single day to show his worth.
He spent his mornings eagerly researching and preparing new Western–style breakfasts for them. Of
course, Amelia never trusted him blindly for even a second.
Before taking a single bite of her venison sausage or eggs, she always used a special homemade testing
