forward.”

Vivian straightened.

“Moving forward how?”

Victor glanced toward the hallway, checking that no one else was nearby.

Then he leaned in.

“Garrett has forged a document,” he said. “Evidence – or what will look like evidence that Alpha King Gideon tampered with Theodore’s mother’s vehicle. Years ago.”

Vivian went very still.

“That’s-”

“Explosive. Yes.” Victor’s voice was calm, almost bored. “The problem right now is getting Mason to find it naturally. It can’t look planted. It has to look like he stumbled onto it himself.”

Vivian’s fingers curled around the edge of the sofa cushion.

“And once he finds it?”

“Once he finds it,” Victor said, “Mason will act. He won’t be able to help himself. The conflict escalates.

Things move faster.”

Vivian was quiet for a moment, processing.

Then something shifted in her expression – a flicker of real anxiety beneath the excitement.

“If this works,” she said carefully, “I won’t be sent away?”

Victor looked at her.

“If this works,” he said, “there will be nothing left to send you away

from.”
