Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 97

Reagan’s POV

After being told how strict a head warrior Xavier was. I felt certain that he would file a report with the Wolf Council once we had left. I would also inform them as soon as I got back to the palace. But that wouldn’t be today.

With Phillip driving, we sped away from the Shadow Pack. Sam snickered when she saw Lily as we passed. “I have no sympathy for either of them. They got what they deserved.” She confessed.

*They deserved worse, Sam. They deserved death, and I wanted to do it,” Ellie said.

“Ellie, they are going to suffer together. We discussed this.” I reminded her.

“I know,” she responded, looking out of the window. “Would have made me feel better, though.”

The drive to South View felt different. Ellie seemed relaxed; she even held my hand. I was so happy; I felt like a teenager waiting to shift for the first time.

Callan talked constantly about mating with Kiki. How suited they were to one another as they got on so well. He talked excitedly about how powerful and beautiful our pups would be. I agreed, as any child of Ellie’s would be beautiful. But I had concerns.

Ellie had grown up isolated from the wolf community. She knew very little about that side of herself. She had made a life in the human world as a vet. She was successful, independent, and capable. She had her own vet practice.

But coming with me, her skills as a vet wouldn’t be needed, as wolves are quick healers. I know she has an aversion to working with humans, but maybe she would consider caring for the pregnant and the young.

Where would we live? Would she want to stay close to Sam? I know I want to help Caspian. He will need guidance as he grows into the role of Alpha King. “Let’s not worry about it right now. Wait until after we’re mated, and everything will work itself out,” Callan said optimistically.

“Penny for your thoughts,” Ellie asked me.

“What made you change your mind? About us,” I asked her.

“I think it was when Lily was insulting you. When I saw how hurt her words affected you. I couldn’t believe she was so horrible to someone so great.” I smiled. Ekie thought I was great. “I felt an overwhelmingly protective feeling and had a strong desire for everything you offered me.” I raised her hand to my lips.

“I promise to make you happy. I just don’t know how to do that. Not just yet anyway. But I will.” Ellie smiled at me.

“You know what challenges I face. Yet you still wanted me. I never thought a long-term relationship was possible. But you were still willing to try. You offered me hope.” Her words made me warm inside.

That’s when I knew Callan was right. We are going to be okay. For the rest of the journey, I thanked the goddess for bringing Ellie into my life. But it wasn’t the goddess; it was Sam. If Sam hadn’t been through hell, she would never have crossed paths with Ellie. Sam is the key to everything. My train of thought wandered a bit, and I dozed off. Only realized the car stopped suddenly.

As I opened my eyes, Phillip was rushing out of the car into Ellie’s clinic. His desperation to see Sasha made us all snicker. I held Ellie back while Sam climbed out of the car to go inside. Now we were alone, I could have the kiss I so desperately desired. I pulled Ellie’s head to me, and as soon as our lips touched, my lips tingled. But it was short-lived as there was a knock on the window. “They’re already at it,” Sam yelled through the glass. The innocent look on her face made me smile. Once she is mated to Caspian, she will be the same.
