Chapter 125
Nick’s POV
The hospital doors slide shut behind me, and I’m already dialing Imema’s number. She picks up on the first ring.
“Imema, you’re not going to believe what I just witnessed.” I lower my voice even though no one’s around. “That woman Talia is shamelessly throwing herself at Aires! If I hadn’t shown up when I did, they probably would’ve kissed right there in the hallway.”
Imema’s voice sharpens with immediate interest. “Kissed? Are you sure?”
“I know what I saw.” I pace along the sidewalk, working through it. “They were alone in a corner, talking quietly. Real cozy. And get this–they’re meeting tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?” Her tone shifts. “Where?”
J
“Didn’t catch the place, but Talia said ten o’clock. Ten in the morning, Imema. That’s a date. Plain and simple.”
Silence on the other end. I can practically hear her thinking.
“A few days ago, Aeson mentioned Talia and Aires discussed divorce,” she says slowly. “Are they not going through with it?” 1

I shake
my head even though she can’t see me. “Doesn’t sound like it. Talia said they weren’t getting divorced, and Aires didn’t argue. After everything Aeson pulled today, even if Aires wanted a divorce, he’d have to think twice now.”
Another pause. Then, colder: “I see.”
“Imema, you can’t let her win. Not after everything. If Talia gets back in his good graces-”
A chill enters her voice. “She won’t. I’ll make sure of it.”
I smile. That’s my Imema, and now, Talia doesn’t stand a chance
Talia’s POV
The hospital room buzzes with quiet activity as Electra bursts through the door, her face flushed with concern. She rushes to Robin’s bedside, examining him with worried eyes.
“Are you okay? I came as soon as I heard. What happened? Are you hurt?” Her words tumble out in a frantic rush.
Robin smiles weakly. “I’m okay, Ms. Parker. Really.”
Electra finally breathes, her shoulders relaxing. Only then does she turn to me. “By the way, Talia, aren’t you and Bernard supposed to be doing that charity performance at the end of this

month? He’s free tomorrow and wants to practice with you at your new studio.”
“Tomorrow?” I hesitate.

Electra’s eyebrows shoot up. “What’s wrong? Don’t have time?”
She knows my schedule–Robin at kindergarten during the day, nothing else usually.
I decide to be honest. “Tomorrow I’m going to court with Aires. To finalize the divorce.”
Electra’s jaw drops. “You’re actually going through with it?”
Raymond, who had been talking quietly with Robin, turns toward me. His son does the same.
I nod. “Yes.”
“Aires agreed?” Electra’s voice holds disbelief.
J
A faint smile touches my lips. “I’m walking away with nothing. Why wouldn’t he agree?”
Electra scoffs, shaking her head. “I remember when you first mentioned divorce, he didn’t believe you. Thought you were gying to manipulate him. I figured he was just makin_excuses] 1

not to let you go. Turns out he wanted you to leave with nothing all along.”
I shrug, indifferent. “If we go through the formal process and he fights it, it could take two years. If he agrees now, it’ll be over in a month. I don’t care about the assets anymore–I just want
out.”

Electra nods slowly. “Better to end it quickly than let it drag on. If you wait two years and Aires changes his mind, you’ll have a harder time escaping. Especially since Imema probably only has a few months left. Once she’s gone, who knows if he’ll come crawling back.”
I raise an eyebrow. “You actually believe she has a terminal illness?”
r
Electra props her chin on her hand, thinking. “Honestly? No. She doesn’t act like someone who’s dying. People with terminal illnesses don’t usually have this much energy for stirring up trouble and chasing married men. I think she’s faking.”
Raymond’s voice cuts in quietly. “What exactly is her illness?”
I shake my head. “I don’t know. Aires never told me.”
I’ve suspected for a long time that Imema isn’t really sick. But without proof, I won’t make accusations. Every time I asked Aires, he dodged the question said it wasn’t my concn. 15:11

Eventually, I stopped asking.
I’m curious to see what happens when her supposed deadline
passes.
Robin’s eyes are bright with curiosity. “Ms. Perseus, are you really going to divorce Mr. Perseus?”
I look at him, at the hopeful expression on his small face. “Do you want me to?”
He nods seriously, all childhood wisdom in his eyes. “Mr. Perseus isn’t good to you. You’re not happy when you’re with him. I want you to be happy, Ms. Perseus. You deserve someone better.”
A soft laugh escapes me. Even Robin, who barely knows Aires, can see what my husband of five years never could.
Electra speaks up. “Since you’re busy tomorrow, I’ll text Bernard and ask him to reschedule.”
“No need.” I stop her. “The divorce cooling–off period won’t take long–maybe half an hour. Tell Bernard I’ll be free in the afternoon.”
Electra grabs her phone, thumbs flying across the screen.
Robin tilts his head. “Ms. Perseus, where are you and Ir. Harris

performing?”
I think of Jack’s words, his mysterious arrangements. “Probably somewhere like a nursing home. That’s who Jack works with.”

Robin’s eyes light up. “Ms. Perseus, can I come? I want to perform with you!”
I hesitate. If it were my own performance, I’d let him join without question. But this is Jack’s event, and I can’t make that decision alone.
Seeing my hesitation, Robin’s voice turns earnest. “Ms. Perseus, I’ve been practicing so hard. I promise I won’t mess up or slow you down. Please?”
I soften, reaching out to ruffle his hair. “I can’t decide on my own, sweetheart. But I’ll ask Jack for you tomorrow. If he says yes, you can come. Okay?”
୮
His face lights up like sunrise. “Okay! Thank you, Ms. Perseus!”
Robin’s POV
Ms. Perseus said yes. Well, almost yes… she has to ask Mr. Jack first. But she didn’t say no!
My heart feels like it’s doing flips. Performing with Ms. Perseus is the best feeling in the whole world. When we’re on sage 15:11

together, I forget everything else. The lights, the crowd, the pressure–none of it matters because she’s right there with me.
It’s like when Mom was still alive. That same warm, safe feeling. Like nothing bad can happen.

I watch her talk to Ms. Parker, her gentle smile, the way she worries about me. She doesn’t even realize how amazing she is.
I’m never letting her go.
Not to Mr. Perseus. Not to Aeson. Not to anyone.
I’ll be so good, so perfect, so wonderful that she’ll never want to leave me. I’ll make her proud every single day!
Ms. Perseus is going to be my mom… I just know it.
