< Alpha’s Discarded Luna
Chapter 160
Talia’s POV

I watch Imema’s face transform. The moment her eyes land on Aires standing outside the clinic, his phone pressed to his ear, she flips a switch.
The venom drains away, replaced by something sweet.
She turns back to me, her smile dripping with false kindness.
“Oh by the way, Talia, I didn’t tell you, right! Alpha is taking me to pick out some jewelry to make up for the humiliation I just suffered.”
She bats her lashes. “He said I can choose whatever I
want… money is no matter, just as long as I am happy.”
She pauses, letting her eyes glitter. “By the way, you and Alpha do not even have wedding rings yet, do you?”
A giggle escapes her. “That’s a little sad, I could never put up with that kind of treatment. But good for you, look hoty patient you are!”

She tosses her hair and walks off, her steps light, her shoulders back.
Jack stands beside me, his face red, his hands shaking. “That heartless brat.” He glares after her. “Is she always this arrogant around you?”
I nod. “Yes. She has always been like this.”
He shoots me a sideways glance. “Then why do not you go slap her a couple times? It will help knock some sense into her.”
I laugh lightly. “Slapping her would be too easy on her, she even slapped herself for sympathy.”
Jack raises an eyebrow. He has never been one to let injustice slide. “What? Do you have a better idea?”
I glance down at my phone. My bank account blinks back at me, where a substantial sum has been freshly deposited. A smile creeps onto my lips.
“I suddenly feel like going shopping for some jewelry.”
Jack’s expression as he understands my meaning. His lips
twitch in a smile and he waves me off.

Nick’s POV
I’m standing beside Imema as she tries on bracelet after
bracelet at the mall.
The Alpha isn’t with us. He was too busy, so he called me to keep her company. I know she just suffered at the hands of that hag and her friend, back at that awful clinic, and I’ve been trying to cheer her up since the drive.
But all my efforts are in vain.
She remains sulky and downcast, like a grey sky before it rains. Nothing I say seems to lift her mood.
I lean closer, studying the diamonds glittering on her wrist. “That bracelet, what do you think about it Imema? It looks stunning on you. Do you like it? Say the word and it is yours.”
Three million. It’s steep, but for Imema? It is worth it to see her crack a smile. She slips it off without a second glance. “It is fine.”

I know what she is thinking. Aeson took the Perseus family heirloom bracelet from her, a few weeks ago. This flashy, mass-market thing cannot compete with the history it held.
“I will pass.” She waves a hand. “The design is too basic/”
I glance at the saleswoman hovering nearby. “You heard her. Got anything with a bit more character?”
The saleswoman’s smile brightens. “Yes, sir and miss. Right this way upstairs.”
This jewelry store is upscale. First floor runs from a million up, second floor starts at ten million. Third floor… well, that’s a different story altogether.
Imema drifts through the displays like she is browsing a grocery store. Finally, she stops at one.
It’s delicate and elegant, just like her. The diamonds catch the light like captured stars.
“This one is not bad.”
Lelance at the price tag: Fifty million dollars.

not completely inherited Cooper Group yet, and fifty million is not pocket change. It is a serious dent.
I could stretch to thirty, maybe. But fifty…
Imema sees me hesitate, and she says in a sweet, forgiving voice. “Forget it. It’s too expensive, I will pass.”
She hands it back to the saleswoman with a smile that
does not reach her eyes, and my heart breaks into a thousand little pieces.
A crisp voice cuts through the air behind us. “I will take
that bracelet.”
I spin around, so does Imema.
Talia is standing right there. Right next to us. When did she even get here?
She doesn’t look at us or acknowledge our existence. She addresses the saleswoman like we aren’t even standing here. “May I try it on?”
The saleswoman’s eyes light up. “Of course, madam.”

anymore. But Talia? She definitely does not belong here.
I find my voice, let the sarcasm rip. “Talia? In here?” I laugh, loud and mocking. “This place is way out of your league. Careful trying that on-would not want your poor stench to rub off on it.”
I point at the bracelet. “Take it off. That is for Imema.”
Talia raises an eyebrow. Her smile is amused. “Didn’t she just say she could not afford it? You two passed on it, right?”
I sneer. “Ha. And you! No job, living off a man’s money -you think you can drop fifty million on a bracelet?” I shake my head. “Don’t make me laugh.”
I turn to the saleswoman, my voice harsh. “Hey. Are you seriously letting her try that on? She is clearly out of her depth here.”
The saleswoman looks at me, then back at Talia. “Sir, are you interested in purchasing this bracelet?”
I freeze.

I just lost big in the stock market. My savings are a mess.
“You shameless gold-digger.” I point at her, my voice rising. “Spending Alpha’s money on something this ridiculous. You have no shame whatsoever, do you?”
I raise my voice, let it carry across the store. “Everyone, take a good look. This woman has not worked a single day in years. Living off my friend and his family’s money, like a goddamn leech. Remember this face… don’t let yourselves get played by someone like her.”
The store goes dead silent. Every staff member, every customer… all eyes are on us.
Imema tugs my arm, “Nick, if Ms. Perseus likes it that much, why not just let her have it?”
Gosh, my poor Imema is so sweet and considerate, even when the one being considered is a bloody snake! No!
She is too pure for the world, but I will fight for her.
“Let her have it?” I glare at Talia. “Like she is buying it without Alpha’s money.”

She looks me up and down like I am something stuck to
her shoe.
“You strut around here acting superior, but you cannot even afford a bracelet. How embarrassing for you.”
The crowd murmurs, and I see their expressions shifting.
“What? I thought she was a mistress…”
“Me too! But if she is married to the one paying, then why can’t she spend on whatever she likes?”
“Is this guy out of his mind?! Calling his friend’s wife of six years a gold digger?”
The ones who were speaking up in my support are now looking at me like I am the one who should be embarrassed.
I step forward, my voice low. “You think you are clever? Just wait. I am telling Alpha everything about this little performance of yours.”

She hands the saleswoman a credit card. “Ring it up.
The saleswoman takes it with a respectful nod and moves to process the payment.
That’s the moment I see red.
I rush forward, fuming. “This store is owned by Perseus Group!” I jab a finger at Imema. “You see her? Standing right here? That is Aires Perseus’ top priority. Even the press has covered their legendary romance. And you!” I turn on Talia.
“You are nothing.”
