Chapter 186
Imema’s POV
I glare at Talia’s retreating figure, my eyes burning with the
venom in my heart. Let her gloat for now. Once she steps outside, she will not be smiling for long.
As Talia and her lawyer step out of the police station, a
swarm of reporters appears out of nowhere, surrounding her. Cameras flash. Voices overlap.
“Ms. Jackson, after your sudden rise to fame online, you were
quickly blacklisted. Was it because you offended someone?”
“Ms. Jackson, why are you leaving the police station? Were you blacklisted due to criminal allegations?”
“Ms. Jackson, it is said you have been impersonating Mrs. Perseus. Were you summoned by the police for infringing on her rights?”
The night Talia was taken away, public opinion shifted again. Thanks to Nick’s deliberate efforts, more rumors surfaced.
Now the internet is flooded with insults directed at her.
Impossible to suppress.

Nick and I step out of the police station just in time to see
Talia surrounded. He sneers, “Last time she got lucky with
that livestream. But she will not turn this around!”
He pulls out his phone and starts a livestream. I watch from a distance, a cold smile playing on my lips. Let the whole world see her like this. Broken. Humiliated. Exposed.
I glance around. “Nick, didn’t you invite Alpha too? When is he arriving?”
He scans the crowd, then grins. “Alpha is here!”
I glance at Talia, surrounded by the crowd, then at Aires walking over. I keep my voice low. “Will not Alpha be upset
seeing Talia being targeted?”
Nick waves dismissively. “Why would he? He would be
thrilled. We have practically handed him the chance for Talia
to beg him.” He pauses. “Though…”
I know what he is getting at. I smile faintly. “Though, given Talia’s temper, she might not beg Alpha.”
Nick nods. “Exactly. The more stubborn she is, the more

irreconcilable her conflict with Alpha will become. By then,
we will not have to worry about Alpha’s feelings.”
He does not dare push things too far yet. Otherwise, a few well–placed rumors could make Talia too ashamed to show
her face in the world.
Then the murmurs start.
“Wait, Aires? Why is Aires here?”
“Is what this woman said true?”
Some reporters notice Aires’s arrival. Their expressions
shift. Earlier, they asked Talia if she had been arrested for
impersonating Mrs. Perseus and swindling people. I hear her
voice rise above the noise, calm and clear.
“Aires and I were not divorced at the time. I was the real Mrs.
Perseus.”
My jaw tightens. She is not foolish enough to stay silent and
let the situation spiral. Since they are already divorced, she
does not care how exposing the truth might affect Aires or the Perseus family.

The reporters are stunned. They were told this woman was
impersonating Mrs. Perseus. No one mentioned she actually
was her. And what explosive news has she just revealed?
They were not divorced at the time? So, are they divorced
now?
As everyone reels from the bombshell, Aires arrives.
The reporters grow restless. Uneasy. Is he here to rescue his
wife?
I watch Talia. She does not look at him. She does not flinch.
She just stands there, calm and unbothered, like she has
already won.
My nails dig into my palms. She has not won anything. Not
yet.
Nick’s POV
Aires disdains getting involved in schemes to frame Talia. Of all these actions, the only one he took part in was freezing her billion–dollar assets. But it was just a freeze. He does not seem interested in reclaiming the money. It is not that he is generous or indifferent to one billion dollars. Rather, he
wants to force her to return.

He does not think much of this divorce. He has countless
ways to delay it, but he chooses not to. Because he wants
Talia to realize that without him, she has nothing. If he had
not let her make a scene and see the harsh reality, she would
always cling to naive wishful thinking. It is better to use this
opportunity to show her that without his protection, even her
basic survival would be a struggle. By then, she will come
crawling back on her own.
So, while he does not participate in my schemes, he does not stop them either.
Aires pauses slightly when he sees Talia surrounded by
the crowd. I am not far away. I wave at him, give him a
meaningful look. With just a glance, he understands.
The reporters swarm around Aires like bees to a flower. But
they do not dare to be as rude as they were with Talia. They keep their distance, maintain order. As they approach, they fire their questions eagerly.
“Mr. Perseus, Ms. Jackson just claimed to be your wife. Do you know her?”
Aires glances at Talia. His voice is soft. “She is a stranger.”

The reporters freeze for a moment. Then they burst into
laughter. Their gazes turn mocking, scornful, like they are looking at a pitiful clown.
“She sounded so confident, I thought she really was Mr. Perseus’s wife. Turns out it was all a lie!”
“This woman has some nerve, lying right outside the police station. Isn’t she afraid we will expose her and ruin her
reputation?”
“Probably another delusional girl dreaming of being Mrs. Perseus. Maybe she is hoping we will expose her so she can
latch onto Mr. Perseus and get his attention.”
“Bad publicity is still publicity! She must be desperate for
fame, even daring to use Mr. Perseus.”
“No wonder her account got banned. How shameless.”
Their gazes are like sharp needles, piercing Talia with
malice. A reporter sneers at her. “Ms. Jackson, Mr. Perseus said he is not familiar with you. Care to explain?”
Talia’s voice is calm. “I am not very familiar with him either.”

“Not familiar with Mr. Perseus, yet you just claimed to be his wife? How do you flip your story so fast?”
Talia looks at the reporter. “I was talking about back then,
not now. After the divorce, we became strangers. There is no
need to be familiar.”
The reporters cannot hold back their laughter. No one
believes a word she says. They all think she is either
desperate for fame or desperate for a man.
I focus my livestream on Talia. Over the past few days,
thanks to my deliberate efforts, negative news about her has
spread like wildfire. Anyone online defending her has their
comments deleted by my people. Any posts exposing her and
Aires’s relationship are deleted without my intervention.
My livestream is flooded with hateful comments about Talia,
some even remember the incident from the car accident.
But the best is yet to come! The majority of people seem unaware of the later developments.
They are still using her past against her, and I’ll wait until the
whole world sees her for what she is… a liar, a fraud and a
