Chapter 244
Talia’s POV
I watch the footage scroll across my phone screen, Nick’s familiar silhouette stomping through my studio. His movements are jerky, aggressive, full of barely contained rage.
I am not surprised. “Maybe… he just wanted to vent his frustration personally.”
Electra’s eyes widen. Realization dawns on her face. “That makes sense.” She nods slowly. “You have really put him through hell lately. He even had to spend a few nights in jail.” A short laugh escapes her. “He probably hates you by now.”
No wonder Nick personally joined in the wrecking. He was desperate to vent his frustration after everything I put him through. The auction losses. The public humiliation. The jail time. The endless cycle of trying to destroy me and failing.
As we continue watching, Nick’s furious voice rings through the footage, loud and unmistakable. “Smash it! Smash everything! Do not leave a single thing intact!”
Electra stares at the phone, speechless. Her mouth hangs open.
That voice is unmistakable to anyone who knows Nick. The cadence, the arrogance, the way his pitch rises when he is angry.

Electra shakes her head and sighs. “Well, I actually
overestimated his intelligence.” She presses her fingers to her temple. “He knew enough to cover his face and destroy the cameras, but he forgot to disguise his voice.”
She turns to me. “Lena, what do you want to do about this?”
I smirk, my red lips curling into a smile. “Honestly, with a liability like him, I almost feel sorry for Imema and Aires.” I hold up my phone. “Upload this footage online. Let the internet help us identify him.”
I pause, enjoying the thought. “Internet users are practically a bunch of detectives. They love a good mystery. I am sure they will help me find him.”
Electra’s eyes light up. A grin spreads across her face. “Got it!”
Brianna’s POV
Talia and Electra do not lower their voices. They speak openly, without hesitation, as if they have nothing to hide. I hear their entire conversation from where I stand near the broken piano.
I listen to them piece together the attack. I hear them discuss the footage, the evidence, the plan to expose the man who did this.

So, they have also offended people they supposedly could not afford to cross, People with money, power, and connections. People who could make their lives difficult.
But unlike me, they did not choose to run away. They did not pack their bags and flee to another city. They did not hide.
They fought back. Bravely. Boldly. Without fear.
For some reason, something inside me stirs. A feeling I have not had in a long time. Hope, maybe. Or determination.
I have a feeling, now that I’m working here, life’s not gonna be boring by a long shot.
Nick’s POV
Thanks to my mercy, that housewife, Talia, is now a well–known influencer. I helped make her famous. Every time I tried to tear her down, I built her up higher. Every attack I launched became a platform for her to shine.
As soon as the footage is posted, it spreads like wildfire. Within an hour, it is trending. The comments are flooding in. Shares are multiplying.
I see the news and burst into laughter.

“She is actually asking the internet for help!” I lean back in my chair, shaking my head. “Too bad for her. The surveillance footage was destroyed!” I wave a dismissive hand. “No matter how much she asks, it will not do her any good.”
Then I leisurely flip through the photos of Talia’s wrecked studio. I admire the damage, zooming in on the smashed equipment and the paint–streaked walls.
The more I look, the better I feel. Satisfaction washes over me, warm and soothing.
It is as if all the frustration Talia has caused me lately has finally been lifted. The auction losses. The public shaming. The nights in jail. All of it, released in a single night of destruction.
Just as I am basking in satisfaction, my phone rings.
I glance at the caller ID. Aires. I answer in high spirits, my voice bright.
“Alpha, did you find Star?”
Aires’s voice is cold. Sharp. “Go to Talia. Now.” He pauses. “Find out what it will take for her to take that video down.”
blink in confusion. My good mood falters. “Why are we even trying to reach Talia? Let the trending topic stay.” I wave my hand, even though he cannot see me. “It has got nothing to do 47

with us.”
Aires nearly laughs out of frustration. I can hear it in his voice, the exasperation barely contained.
“Do you seriously think just covering your face makes you unrecognizable?” His tone is biting. “The audio in that video is crystal clear. Forget your friends. Even the clerks at your usual stores could pick up on your voice.”
I sit up straight. The satisfaction drains out of me, replaced by
cold dread.
“Video?” My voice cracks. “What video?”
“Talia released security footage.”
My mind goes blank for a second. The world tilts.
“What?”
All I saw was the trending post about Talia’s trashed studio. A few pictures. Some angry captions. I did not watch any video. I assumed she was just asking for leads, begging the public to help her identify the vandals.
I refused to believe she could find anything useful. The cameras were destroyed. I made sure of it myself.

Aires’s voice is sharp and cold. “The surveillance footage.”
I blurt out instinctively, “That is impossible. I already took care
of her cameras.”
The moment I say it, I realize my mistake.
“Uh… Alpha, Imema’s studio got vandalized.” I scramble for an explanation, my words tumbling out. “I was just getting payback for her…”
For some reason, guilt creeps into my voice. I hear it, thin and unfamiliar.
Talia is Aires’s ex–wife. Aeson’s mother. No matter how reckless I can be, I know better than to cross a line in front of Aires. He has always been protective of her, even when he pretended not to be.
A long silence stretches between us. I can hear Aires breathing on the other end.
Finally, he speaks. “Talia had indoor surveillance. The camera did not catch your face, but the audio is clear as day.”
He pauses. “I intercepted the footage before it spread, but with her influence, I will not be able to hold it back for long.” His voice hardens. “This is the last time I am helping you. You are
en your own now.”

He hangs up without waiting for a response.
I stare at my phone, my heart pounding. The silence in the room is deafening.
That night, the video he tried to suppress still made its way online. I watch it go viral, helpless to stop it.
I am confident in my disguise. I wore a hoodie. I kept my head down. I thought no one would ever recognize me.
Yet, in just two hours, my identity is completely exposed.
Some commenters recognize my watch. Limited edition. Only a few hundred were made. Others analyze my shoes, my jacket, my ring. Even my belt–someone had seen it before on an old
Instagram post.
It is not long before old photos of me resurface. Anonymous users dig through my social media, taking screenshots of past posts. They compare clothing, accessories, and body language.
In just a few hours, my entire identity is out in the open.
