My eyes quickly shift back to Evelyn. “Do I go to confinement if I punch him?”

“Yes.” She almost whispers.

“What are you doing here?” I ask, watching him to ensure he keeps his distance.

“I came to see how you are doing.”

“How am I doing?” I frown. “The same as when I escaped.”

Something flickers in his gaze. “Your father and Damien shouldn’t have done that, they’re setting you back.”

“I was free,” I groan. “Do you know how that felt? It felt like everything you’re taking for granted right now.” I snap, motioning to him. “You have the will to come and go as you please, and I don’t.” I choke out, my voice breaking. “You can stop talking to me right now and leave, but I can't. I have to stand here and listen to you bitch about a situation that you’ve put us in!”

“Aeli—”

“Stop coming here,” I grit through my teeth. “The only time I should see you is when you’re ready to take me home. If not, don't come back because I am tired, Kingston. And I get it, you want me here so I’ll stay here, I’ll keep suffering, I’ll keep dying inside, and hopefully the next time I get electrocuted, I die on that table.”

His eyes widen, “What did you say?”

“I’m going back inside,” I say with an eyeroll. “Leave me alone for the rest of the day.”

“Luna Aeliana, we should get ice cream,” Evelyn whines.

“I don’t want it.”

“What does she mean by electrocuted?” Kingston asks, his voice rough and startling. It does nothing but annoy me, while Evelyn jumps, taking a step back.

“I-I-I don’t know, Alpha.” She stutters, shaking her head. “You should speak to doctor James, I’m only—”

“A coward.” I snarl, walking away from them both.

“Aeliana,” Kingston calls.

“Leave her alone, Alpha Kingston. She’s in a bad mood today.” Evelyn says, “She’ll get worked up.”

“Where is James?” I hear him demand.

“He isn't working today, but he will be in tomorrow morning.”

“If that…” his voice fades as I walk away. I go straight to my room, sitting by the window this time.

I can see him outside. Evelyn gives him her phone, and I see him put his number in while she stares everywhere but at him, as if checking to see who might notice. If I scent him on her, I will strangle the sunshine out of her. That thought seems to make home when I see him leave, and when he does, Evelyn goes with him. It makes me wonder for a moment, my mind running wild with possibilities, one crude and possible. What if he sleeps with her? Not just her, but someone else. Could that be the reason why my head has been killing me lately, and my stomach the other time?

If he is touching someone else, let it be a hooker from the bar if possible, or one of the maids, not my Lexie, just one of the others, anyone but Audrey. I can’t let her have another win over me.

Time goes by, and I can’t get the idea of Kingston betraying our bond out of my mind, and soon, Evelyn returns.
