Chapter 474
“I didn’t have them,” she swallows.
“So who?”
“Somebody.” She says, her answers true but strategic.
Rowan snickers, “Are you fucking kidding me?”
“It’s clear someone had them, and they must have gotten a hold of them after I left. I’m sorry.” She says,
I didn’t know something of this sort would happen. I just..I was angry, and I left.”
“Rowan, Caleb, search this room,” I tell them. “A rat is hiding somewhere in here.”
Caleb and Rowan move immediately. Caleb searches the main room while Rowan starts with the bathroom and then the other room that connects to her closet.
Audrey crosses her arms over her chest and sighs, staring at Seraphine for a moment before she stares back at me. They don’t communicate via the pack link.
“If I find anything that ties you to this incident, you won’t like what I do to you, and whoever it is that is helping you terrorise my pregnant wife,” I warn.
“What?” She gasps. “Aeliana’s pregnant?”
“Yes, and I will not let anyone get away with causing her any stress. This shit has made her feel crazy and if-”
“Alpha Kingston,” Caleb calls from behind the curtain. He lifts his hand, showing me a head sock. “I found this on the window pane.” He says, showing me the ski mask.
My gaze flickers from him to Audrey, then Seraphine. “Explain yourself before I drain you dry.”
“Explain myself over a ski mask?” She frowns. “It must’ve rolled over there while I was packing.”
“Clothes don’t roll, they fall, they drop, and somebody dropped it,” I tell her, taking the mask from Caleb. ” This doesn’t look like it’s yours,” I say, stalking her, but she doesn’t move, she doesn’t even flinch. I’ve never given her reason to, but she’s giving me plenty to end her right now. “You have three seconds. before I lose it.”
She huffs, “Kingston, what is wrong with you?”
I don’t hesitate, her calm infuriates me to the point of snapping my patience. I swing with every ounce of fury that has settled in my chest since I picked up the keys. My palm collides with her face so hard that it echoes in the room. Seraphine yelps and Audrey gasps, stumbling from the impact.
I begin to count again, “Three, two-”
“It belongs to Kayson,” Seraphine blurts out.
