I lead her out, and we’re halfway through the terminal when the hairs on the back of my neck rise in alarm, and I look up from my phone, only to be met with more than a familiar face.

I want to say I’m okay, to ask for Anastasia again, but all that comes out of my mouth is a strangled sound filled with pain. “Is it the baby?” He asks, his eyes searching mine.

I freeze.

The what? How does he know about that? Surely Aeliana didn’t tell on me. I mean, we’ve been talking about me struggling with how to get the words out, and she offered to talk to him for me, but we didn’t agree on it.
