Chapter 82
AELIANA
I’ve never felt more out of place than I do in Alpha Dante’s office, everyone is older than me, not only that, but they’ve been planning Kingston’s inauguration for years, there are so many things that don’t make sense to me, so I try to pay close attention, taking mental notes
My father is present too. He barely acknowledged me when I walked in. He greeted Kingston and gave me a pat on the shoulder. None of the other elders paid me any attention either, Luna Estelle and Alpha Dante are the only ones who acknowledged and welcomed me. I guess they’re who matters, this is their home.
I’m sitting next to Luna Estelle, far away from Kingston, but that hasn’t stopped him from looking at me. Staring at me even when I’m not looking, I can feel his gaze on me. The only time I look at him is when he speaks, or when Rowan does, because they’re next to each other.
Gamma Deacon is presenting the room with a list of packs he thinks Kingston should have alliances with, and Rowan argues they already know who their allies are.
I catch Kingston staring at me once again, his gaze dark and gone, like he isn’t in the room. My nose scrunches up, and I shoot him a ‘what?’ look. He smiles, tapping the side of his head.
I’m trying to listen to everyone, but I can’t shake the feeling that something is up with him. My gaze finds his again, and this time, something shifts inside me. My thoughts stutter, and the next thing I know, I’m picturing us on the table. It feels like a memory that is yet to occur. The room is empty, it’s only us in here. I’m lying on the table with my wrists above my head while he fucks me slow and deep across this very table. I see the moment my legs wrapped around his waist, my heels digging into his ass to pull him harder.
The image fades when I break eye contact and his smile widens. It’s him, he’s doing this. He is making me see things, but how?
“What do you think, Alpha Kingston?” Rowan asks. “Shouldn’t we be receiving the gifts considering you’re being inaugurated?”
Kingston nods, “Luna?” He raises an eyebrow, “What do you think?”
“Well,” Luna Estelle begins, but Kingston points at me.
“I was talking to my Luna.” He says, “Apologies, Mother. I will be more accurate, I forgot there are two Lunas amongst us.”
I clear my throat, “Sounds like bribery. We can’t establish an alliance on bribery, their loyalty will shift the moment someone else offers something better, more.”
Luna Estelle hums in approval but Selene objects, I swear this woman hates me. The fact that she is Audrey’s aunt is more than enough, I can see it in her gaze too. “It’s not bribery, Luna Aeliana. This is tradition, it dates back centuries, it builds a strong,-
Rowan taps the table, “Not every tradition is good. Continuous sharing of our natural resources will devalue them. We can’t trade them for more if we hand them out for nothing.” He explains, “I am with Luna Aeliana on this, she makes a good point.”
“I agree with my daughter,” Father says, shocking me.
Kingston nods, folding a piece of paper and passing it to Rowan. “On to the next agenda.”
And just like that, everyone crosses bribery off their list. I’m shocked by how easily my opinion went unchallenged

by the rest of them.
I look up from my paper and find Kingston staring at me, again. I don’t think he is giving this meeting the attention it deserves and just like before, I start seeing things again. It’s not until he winks at me that I understand how he is doing it.
He is using the bond to show me inside his head, something I didn’t know was possible until now. I want to look away but knowing I’m in his head right now makes it so hard, heat floods my cheeks and I swallow.
