At the airport lobby, Natasha appeared wearing a light brown coat and knee-high boots.

“Natasha, what took you so long?” Derek called out as soon as he spotted her.

He’d just finished checking in and hurried over to greet her.

Natasha apologized instinctively, “Sorry, there was a traffic jam.”

Derek pressed the elevator button for her. “Go on up, Mr. Rundell is waiting for you in the VIP lounge.”

Natasha looked at him, surprised. “Are you coming with us?”

Having Derek along was a relief. It was way better than just her and Jared being alone together.

Derek explained, “I’m heading to Majestika with you guys, but I’ve got some other work lined up, so I might have to leave early.”

Natasha nodded, secretly breathing a sigh of relief.

At least she wouldn’t be stuck alone with Jared the whole time.

At the VIP lounge, Derek held the door open for Natasha.

As Natasha walked in, she saw Jared sitting by the sunlit floor-to-ceiling windows.

Sunlight scattered over him through the glass.

His sharp, handsome features seemed gilded by the sunlight, making him look like a deity.

As if sensing her gaze, Jared turned and cast her a brief, impassive look.

“Mr. Rundell, Ms. Whittier’s here,” Derek said, hurriedly ushering her over.

Jared’s eyes were bottomless, like the ocean.

He suppressed the rush of joy that welled up inside him upon seeing her.

His expression was unreadable.

He said in a flat tone, “Let’s board.”

Then, he walked off right away.

He didn’t even look at Natasha, who had hurried in.

Still feeling awkward, Natasha followed Jared after Derek shot her a reassuring glance.

Ever since she’d walked in on Jared and Lizzie in his office, Natasha had tried her best to steer clear of Jared whenever she

could.

But today was the day she’d been dreading. She was filling in for Leigh and had to accompany Jared on this trip.

She had no choice but to grit her teeth and show up.

Natasha figured Jared probably wanted nothing to do with her either.

But as she boarded the plane, Jared suddenly turned, took her hand, and pulled her straight into first class.

Derek, right behind them, was momentarily stunned.

Then, catching on, he quietly moved to business class, giving up his seat without a fuss.

Natasha found herself pressed into the seat next to Jared, his masculine scent surrounding her.

The plane quickly climbed into the sky.

A quiet, awkward tension filled the air, and neither Natasha nor Jared said a word.

It wasn’t until the flight attendant came by and asked if they wanted blankets that the silence was broken.

Jared asked for one, but instead of taking it himself, he draped it over Natasha.

Natasha snapped out of her daze and instinctively refused, “No, I’m not cold…”

Before she could finish her words, Jared suddenly pulled her close.

“You’re not allowed to say no to me,” Jared’s low, possessive voice commanded right by her ear.

Natasha was forced to accept his gesture.

But her body instinctively shifted away.

Let me go first, Natasha said.

But Jared didn’t let go. Instead, he pressed her head firmly onto his broad shoulder.

“Go to sleep. It’s a long flight, over eight hours, Jared ordered.

Natasha didn’t realize it would be that long.

She let out a soft murmur and couldn’t help but close her eyes.

With the lightheaded feeling from takeoff, Natasha quickly drifted into sleep.

After an unknown amount of time, a deep, pleasant voice gently called in her ear, “We’re here.”

Natasha opened her sleepy eyes and saw Jared’s familiar, handsome face just inches away.

She pulled her neck back awkwardly, feeling embarrassed,

‘We’re here? Natasha wondered, still a bit dazed.

‘I can’t believe I slept through the entire flight, Natasha thought, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Jared fixed her with a deep gaze, then stood up. “Let’s go.”

Natasha followed him off the plane.

The strong wind outside woke her up for real, clearing away the last of her grogginess.

They were in Majestika, on the other side of the globe.

When they arrived at the hotel, it was broad daylight outside.

Jared had a business dinner to attend and needed to head out right away.

He was used to this kind of high-intensity work and didn’t need to adjust to the time difference.

But Natasha was a different story.

Even though she’d slept on the plane, it’d be nighttime back home.

She was dead tired and still half-asleep.

Thankfully, she didn’t have to tag along with Jared for this dinner.

Derek told her to handle Jared’s bags.

Natasha grabbed a bite in the hotel restaurant by herself.

The hotel staff brought her and Jared’s luggage up to their suite.

That was when Natasha realized Derek had booked them a suite.

So for the next few days, she and Jared would be sharing a suite, but not in the same room.

They were staying in two neighboring rooms within the same suite.

Natasha rolled her suitcase into her own room first.

Then she wheeled Jared’s oversized black luxury business suitcase into his room next door.

She crouched down, ready to get started on unpacking his things.

But as soon as she opened the suitcase, she stopped in her tracks, stunned.

Right on top was a box of condoms.

Natasha froze, her mind blank for a few seconds.

Natasha thought, ‘Jared actually packed a box of condoms for a business trip to Majestika? Seriously?

‘What’s he even mean by this?

I’m the only woman on this trip with him.

‘Is he actually thinking about… with me?’

Natasha’s cheeks flushed, and her heart started pounding.

She hadn’t forgotten that she’d promised Jared he could sleep with her in return.

‘Is he planning to do it here?’ Natasha wondered.

Just thinking about it made Natasha swallow hard.

She averted her gaze, doing her best not to look at the box of condoms.

That way, she wouldn’t start imagining things.
