Chapter 119 Keep Their Divorce a Secret

Chapter 119 Keep Their Divorce a Secret

Lily was fuming.

She couldn’t believe Percy was actually blaming her for snapping at Natasha.

“She said she wants a divorce. As your mother, can’t I say a few words to her?” Lily shot back, her face stiff with defiance

In her mind, as Natasha’s mother-in-law, she had every right to call Natasha out for her faults.

Besides, Natasha had mocked Percy for being a bastard.

Percy frowned and strode over to Lily.

“The divorce wasn’t just her idea. We both agreed on it a while ago,” he said.

Natasha was a little surprised.

Percy didn’t try to pin the whole thing on her.

But it wasn’t like he was standing up for her.

He just didn’t want Lily to think it was all Natasha’s idea and then refuse to let them split up.

But Lily got even angrier when she heard Percy say that.

“Are you out of your mind? You want a divorce now? Aren’t you afraid your dad will be furious if he finds out?” she snapped.

If this were just Natasha’s idea, it would be easy to handle.

But she never expected Percy to actually want a divorce, too.

“I’ll handle Dad myself,” Percy said, his voice low and firm.

Lily snapped, “Handle him? How exactly? Your marriage to the Whittier family was arranged by your dad and the patriarch of the Whittier family ages ago. If you suddenly want a divorce and your dad finds out, he’ll turn on you in a heartbeat.

“Roxanne will definitely make a big deal out of this. Do you even want to replace your older brother? Or do you not care about inheriting the Grosso family business anymore?”

“I will be the Grosso family heir. And I’m getting this divorce, no matter what,” Percy said, his tone leaving no room for

argument.

Besides, if he divorced Natasha and married Joelle, the real Whittier heiress, that would only speed up his path to inheriting the Grosso family business.

Lily looked unimpressed. “Even if you want a divorce, there’s no need to rush. At least wait until your older brother is out of the picture and you’ve officially taken over as the Grosso family heir.”

She didn’t bother to lower her voice one bit and spoke her mind right in front of Natasha.

It was like Natasha didn’t even exist to her.

Or maybe Lily figured that even if Natasha heard everything, there was nothing she could do about it.

After all, Natasha was the Whittier family’s illegitimate daughter, unwanted by her father and ignored by her mother.

Who would ever stand up for her?

Even if Natasha knew Percy and Lily were digging a pit for her, she’d still have to fall right into their trap.

Percy said, ‘No, I can’t wait even a single day!’

Lily shot him a glare. ‘So now you think you’re all grown up and don’t have to listen to me anymore? Fine, I’m done trying to stop you. Do whatever you want.

“But if you piss off your father and lose your shot at being the heir, don’t come crying to me when you regret it.”

She stormed out, grabbing her bag in a huff.

With a loud bang, she slammed the door shut behind her.

Inside the room, Natasha and Percy exchanged a glance, neither of them saying a word.

After Roxanne’s outburst, City Hall had already closed for the day.

They’d missed their chance again.

Natasha couldn’t help but feel down.

‘All I want is a divorce. Why does it have to be so damn hard?’ Natasha thought.

Percy walked over to her.

“There’s something I need to talk to you about,” he said.

Natasha had guessed that Percy wanted to meet at home instead of dragging her to City Hall. It wasn’t just because she bailed on him last time. There had to be more to it.

“Go ahead,” she said.

She walked over and sat down on the couch.

Percy took a seat across from her.

“You saw what happened. If I get divorced now, not only is my mom against it, but it’s a mess for me to deal with my dad and the Grosso family…” he said.

Natasha interrupted him coldly, “That’s your problem.”

Natasha thought, ‘He only cares about how complicated things are for him, never once thinking about what I’m going through.

‘Does he think it’s any easier for me with the Whittier family?’

Percy’s face froze for a second.

Annoyance flickered in his eyes.

But he kept his cool, remembering what he was here for.

“I know divorcing you means I have to take all this heat, and there’s a real risk my dad will be furious with me…” he said.

Natasha could barely stop herself from rolling her eyes.

‘As if I don’t have to shoulder any pressure or take any risks myself. Does he really think only his feelings matter?’ Natasha thought.

Percy pulled out a contract and handed it to her. “So, I want you to sign a confidentiality agreement with me.”

Natasha furrowed her brows. “What kind of confidentiality agreement?”

Percy met her gaze. “After we finalize our divorce at City Hall, we have to keep it under wraps until I officially take over as the Grosso family heir, after I beat my brother.

“And if the Grosso family needs you to help out with anything, you have to go along with it.”

Natasha lowered her head and quickly skimmed through the agreement.

Aside from requiring both of them to keep the divorce a secret, it also said that if she broke the agreement and let slip about their divorce during this time, she’d have to cover any losses he suffered.

Natasha felt sick to her stomach.

She tightened her grip on the agreement, her anger flaring.

He was the one who cheated, the one who had a thing for her sister. That’s what blew up their marriage.

And now, right when they were getting divorced, he was actually trying to make Natasha sign some ridiculous confidentiality agreement?

And if she broke it, she’d have to cover his losses?

If Percy had talked to her like a decent person, she probably would’ve agreed, no questions asked.

After all, if they suddenly got divorced, it’d be as tough for her to explain things to the Whittier family.

Honestly, keeping their divorce a secret for now was actually a win-win for her.

But Percy had to pull out this confidentiality agreement, like he was rubbing salt in the wound and trying to make her feel humiliated.

Natasha felt a rebellious spark flare up inside her.

“So you want me to play along with you?” Natasha shot back.

She arched her eyebrow. “Okay, but I have conditions.”

Percy hadn’t expected her to seize the chance and make demands.

“What are your conditions?” he asked.
