Chapter 125 Her First Kiss
Chapter 125 Her First Kiss
At that moment, Natasha was hit by a surge of emotion.
Her mom abandoned her.
It was a caring young man who found Natasha later.
He brought her to the police station.
It wasn’t until the police get in touch with her mom that she finally found Natasha again. Because of that shadow from her childhood, Natasha was always scared stiff of getting lost.
And now, of all times, she found herself stranded and alone on unfamiliar streets in a foreign land. That old, suffocating anxiety and nervousness came rushing back to her all at once.
Just as Natasha was panicking and feeling lost, she suddenly heard someone calling out for her. At first, she thought she was just hearing things.
But she quickly realized it wasn’t in her head.
Someone was shouting her name like it was a matter of life and death.
As night fell and the streetlights blinked on in this foreign city, everything felt a little unreal.
The foreigners all turned to stare at the same person.
It was a tall, handsome guy, shouting Natasha’s name at the top of his lungs.
The worry and urgency were written all over his face, impossible to miss.
Natasha turned her head along with the crowd, curiosity pulling her gaze in the same direction as everyone else.
And there he was. Jared’s tall, striking silhouette stood out in the crowd.
For a moment, surprise flickered in her eyes.
To Natasha, Jared was always the cool, distant type: calm, collected, and way out of reach.
Jared never lost his cool.
And there was no way he’d be taking off his sunglasses in the middle of a packed street, anxiously calling out her name like he was desperate.
Yeah, he was desperate.
He was so anxious, he didn’t care that he was drenched in sweat or that everyone was watching him.
Natasha’s heart skipped a beat because of Jared.
She wasn’t lost after all.
Because Jared had found her.
For some reason, at that moment, Jared and the kind older boy who had helped her when she was lost as a child seemed to merge in Natasha’s heart.
She felt a gentle warmth bloom inside her.
Jared, on the other hand, was absolutely livid.
He marched right up to her, practically seething with rage.
Sweat was pouring down his handsome face.
He hated sweating, and he hated making a scene in front of a crowd even more.
He’d been raised to always stay composed, never lose control.
But now, thanks to her, he was throwing all that out the window!
He confronted her angrily, his tone harsh and demanding.
But Natasha just stared at him, her face blank, lost in thought as she took in his stormy expression.
She knew Jared was furious, but she had no idea what he was so upset about.
Jared finally realized something was off with her and couldn’t help but raise his voice, “Are you even listening to me?”
“Huh?” Natasha blinked, as if she’d just snapped out of a trance.
Jared was absolutely livid.

His face went from red to dark in an instant.
His hazel eyes glared at her fiercely, full of anger.
For the first time, Natasha thought Jared was seriously scary when he got mad.
‘He looked like he could eat her alive, Natasha thought.
Natasha braced herself and asked, “What did you say? Sorry, my head was somewhere else.
Jared closed his eyes, trying to pull himself together for a moment.
He gritted his teeth and snapped, “What are you thinking, disappearing in Majestika like this? Do you have any idea how unsafe it is here? What if something happened to you all alone out there?”
Natasha was so overwhelmed by Jared’s anger that she was frozen, unable to say anything.
She wasn’t trying to ghost him.
She got lost, really.
Maybe he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that even as an adult, Natasha could still get lost.
But Natasha had always struggled with directions, and her childhood trauma about getting lost made things worse for her.
Every time she found herself lost, she’d panic and get scared out of her mind.
Even when she tried to figure out the way, her mind would go blank.
Jared had been talking for a while, but Natasha didn’t say a single word
She just stared at him blankly, like she was out of it.
Jared was fuming. He was about to explode from frustration.
“Natasha, say something! You… Mmph… Jared was mid-shout when he was suddenly cut off.
Natasha rose on her tiptoes and boldly pressed her lips to his, kissing him right on the mouth. Jared’s whole body tensed up for a moment, blindsided by her sudden action.
His hazel eyes seemed deep and icy, but underneath, his emotions were raging like a storm.
He looked at her in disbelief, never expecting she’d kiss him at a moment like this.
And she was the one who made the first move.
Natasha knew she was being a little bold.
But with his temper about to erupt, this was the only move she had to try to calm him down.
Now, with Jared standing perfectly still, letting her kiss him, his hazel eyes fixed on her with an intense, unreadable gaze, Natasha felt her heart thumping anxiously in her chest.
‘Is this going to help? Will it actually cool him off? What if kissing him in front of everyone makes him even angrier?’ Natasha thought.
Natasha’s thick, fluttering lashes quivered as she stared at him.
She was just inches away, taking in every detail of his face.
Jared could see the serious, handsome look of his own face reflected in her bright, clear eyes.
Just as Natasha was about to break the kiss and let go, Jared suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist.
He pulled her in, forcing her to press close against his tall, solid frame.
Jared’s throat tightened as he stared at her. “Do you know what you’re doing?”
“Yes, I do,” said Natasha.
She blinked, locking eyes with his deep hazel gaze.
“Hey, calm down, okay? I wasn’t trying to ghost you. I seriously got lost and couldn’t find my way back,” she explained.
Jared’s chiseled, striking face leaned in even closer to her.
Their noses pressed together, sharing the same breath in the intimate space between them.
Natasha felt a wave of anxiety. She couldn’t tell if Jared actually believed what she’d said or not.
She cautiously pressed her hands against his chest, trying to put a little distance between them.
This is way too close for a public place, Natasha thought, feeling awkward as she realized everyone was watching them.
She’d only kissed him because she was out of options and desperate to cool him off.

Jared stayed perfectly still, his grip tightening around her wrist, making sure she couldn’t pull away.
His lips hovered so close to hers that it felt like there was barely a breath between them.
“Why did you suddenly kiss me?” he asked.
Natasha nervously licked her lips, at a complete loss for words.
