Chapter 130 Already Had Someone He Liked
Chapter 130 Already Had Someone He Liked
Natasha pulled herself free from his embrace. “No…”
Jared narrowed his eyes at her. “You really don’t want to sleep with me again?”
Natasha answered without a second thought. “Yes!”
Jared’s expression soured.
His gaze became icy and unyielding, making him look seriously dangerous.
Natasha was really worried that Jared might take her by force right there in the car.
The air in the car was thick with tension for a few seconds.
Then, Jared suddenly shoved the door open, stepped out, and walked off.
Natasha froze for a moment, stunned.
When he finally walked away, she breathed a silent sigh of relief.
But she’d probably just pissed Jared off big time. She was wondering if he would take revenge on her in the company in
the future.
Honestly, even if he did, she couldn’t afford to care about it right now.
Fortunately, when Natasha showed up at the office the next day, everything was just as usual.
Jared didn’t give her any trouble.
Right before clocking out, Lizzie came over to see her.
“Natasha!” Lizzie called out.
“Ms. Hopkins, what brings you here?” Natasha asked, surprised.
She was just about to pack up and head home to meet Percy and sign the agreement.
When she looked up, she was taken aback to see Lizzie walk into her office.
“I’m just waiting for Jared to finish work so we can head back to the Rundell mansion for dinner,” Lizzie said, grinning at Natasha.
‘Going back to the Rundell mansion for dinner together?’ Natasha thought, a little surprised. ‘Looks like Lizzie’s already been accepted by the Rundell family.’
For some reason, a pang of bitterness flickered through Natasha’s heart.
Thinking about how she drove Jared home last night, and how he had even tried to invite her in to have sex with him, she found it all bitterly ironic.
‘He was about to get together with Lizzie, a rich heiress, and yet he still couldn’t let go of me. Is.it just his hormones acting up, or did he only ever want to mess around with me?’ Natasha wondered.
“I need to leave early today, got something to take care of,” Natasha said.
She didn’t ask anything else, just waved goodbye to Lizzie, picked up her purse, and headed out.
A hint of triumph flickered in Lizzie’s eyes.
She knocked on the door to Jared’s executive office.

“Why are you here?” Jared asked, instinctively frowning as soon as he saw her.
Lizzie smiled as she walked over to him. “Your mom invited me to dinner at the Rundell mansion tonight, so I came to pick you up so we can head back together.”
Jared said coolly, “I’ve got things to take care of. I’m not leaving anytime soon. Just go ahead without me.”
Lizzie said patiently, “I’ll just wait for you.”
Then she settled herself onto the guest sofa in his office, making it clear she wasn’t planning to leave by herself.
Jared said, “Don’t bother. I always go home on my own.”
Lizzie felt a bit awkward.
His words were pretty much showing her the door.
“Are you always this cold to girls?” Lizzie asked.

“No,” Jared gave her a frosty glance. “But you’re just not the kind of girl I like.”
In other words, she was out of luck with him.
She just wasn’t his type at all.
He would only make exceptions for women who were his type.
Lizzie felt a wave of frustration rise inside her.
Her hands balled into fists before she even realized it.
“Why not give it a shot? How can you be so sure unless you try? Who knows, maybe you’ll surprise yourself and fall for a girl who’s not your usual type,” Lizzie said.
“That’s not going to happen,” Jared replied, his answer immediate and unwavering.
Lizzie’s face went rigid, her voice tinged with frustration. “Why not?”
Jared just wanted her to give up on him and stop coming around to bother him.
So he said, “Because I already have someone I like.”
As he said it, he couldn’t help but picture Natasha’s face.
No doubt about it. He liked sleeping with her.
He craved her body.
But when it came to Lizzie, he felt absolutely nothing.
Lizzie felt a shock-deep in her heart, and she couldn’t help but feel devastated.
“Who is she?” Lizzie asked, her face falling, unable to hide her jealousy.
She couldn’t help but suspect Jared was just saying that to get her off his back.
Jared said flatly, “I don’t need to tell you.”
Lizzie’s heart clenched painfully.
She gritted her teeth and finally asked, “Is there really not even the tiniest bit of hope for us?”
“Yes,” Jared shot back, not even pausing to think.
He didn’t want to give her any false hope.
He knew she was nothing more than a pawn in his uncle Harley’s schemes.
He refused her, which also spared her from being used by others again.
Lizzie’s eyes were starting to tear up.
She’d never been rejected right to her face by a guy like this before.
Humiliated and furious, she turned on her heel, ready to storm out of his office.
But just as she reached the door, she stopped in her tracks.
“I’m not giving up on you that easily!” Lizzie vowed, her voice unwavering.
‘I’m not going to rest until Jared is mine, she thought. ‘He can forget about me backing down so easily.’
Natasha returned to the house she and Percy called home after their wedding.
It was already getting dark outside.
She opened the door, and the place was pitch black inside.
She wasn’t sure if Percy was even home.
Just as she reached for the light switch, a tall figure suddenly loomed out of the darkness and closed in on her. Before Natasha could react, someone’s hand wrapped tightly around her throat.
“Mmm…” Natasha let out a muffled groan, unable to speak.
She couldn’t breathe, and her cheeks turned crimson in an instant.
“Did you have something to do with Joelle going missing?” Percy demanded, his tone icy and full of menace.
Natasha immediately realized that Percy had asked her to come here that night under the pretext of discussing divorce, but it was actually about Joelle’s disappearance.
“No, I had nothing to do-” Natasha forced the words out, barely able to speak as his grip tightened around her throat.

But Percy didn’t buy it for a second.
He clamped down harder, his fingers tightening around her neck.
“You’d better not lie to me!” His eyes were clouded with gloom, and his tone carried a warning.
Natasha could feel the oppressive chill emanating from him growing stronger and stronger.
Her lungs felt crushed. There wasn’t a single breath left in her chest.
