Percy was so furious that he nearly lost it.

“What? How dare you…” He snapped, his voice trembling with rage. ‘Is she really trying to jack up the price on me at the fast minute?’ he thought.

Natasha rnet his gaze head-on. “I sure dare. What are you gonna do about it?”

She hadn’t originally planned to use this situation to hold anything over him.

But Percy had really crossed the line this time.

‘He’d almost choked me out just over Joelle. Now I’m only asking for an extra 10 million dollars in compensation. Surely that isn’t too much to ask, right?’ Natasha thought to herself.

Percy glared at her, his eyes blazing with fury. “You!”

‘She should have known that I’m just an illegitimate son of the Grosso family, he thought. ‘Where would I get that much money?

‘Why would she choose to make things difficult for me at a time like this?’

Natasha said impatiently, “So, are you gonna agree or not? If you won’t, then whatever, we just won’t get divorced, no big deal.”

Percy’s words just now had already exposed how badly he wanted out of this marriage.

Natasha had been wanting a divorce, too.

Since he wanted to haggle, she decided to throw in a one-year deadline herself.

That way, Percy couldn’t keep expecting her to cover for him about their divorce forever.

Percy narrowed his eyes. “Are you that eager to make our divorce public?”

Natasha answered without a second thought, “Absolutely!”

Her determination was so strong that it actually took Percy by surprise.

Percy forced down his anger and said coldly, “Once you lose the title of Mrs. Grosso, you’re nothing but the unwanted illegitimate daughter of the Whittier family. Don’t tell me you actually think you can find another man after our divorce goes public?”

Percy looked at her like she was a joke, his eyes full of ridicule.

‘Someone like her, with that “lowly” background, was lucky to even be with me, he thought. ‘Dreaming about remarrying after this? She was seriously delusional.

‘Like any guy would ever want her. At the very least, no young man from a wealthier family would ever look at her twice.

Natasha smirked sarcastically. “Once we’re divorced, whether I get remarried or not has nothing to do with you!”

Percy was about to mock her again, but before he could get the words out, his phone started ringing.

He answered, and his face stiffened in surprise. “What? They found Joelle? She’s at the hospital?”

When Natasha and Percy rushed to the hospital together, Joelle had already been wheeled out of the emergency room and was now resting in a VIP suite.

Percy was about to walk in, but suddenly froze.

Through the glass window, he spotted a tall figure by Joelle’s bed.

It was Nicolas.

Nicolas pried Joelle’s hands off him and strode out of the room, his movements decisive.

As he reached the doorway, he saw Natasha and Percy standing there.

He paused, giving Natasha a complicated look.

“Take care of your sister,” he said.

With that, he turned to leave.

His marriage to Joelle was never his choice.
