Natasha sucked in a sharp breath, thinking, ‘Has this guy lost his mind? First, he grabbed my hand, and now he’s got his hands on my leg? Seriously?’

On the surface, she kept a calm facade, not letting anything show.

But inside, she was seething, practically grinding her teeth in frustration.

She even wanted to toss her juice right in his face.

But with so many people around, she had no choice but to act as if nothing had happened.

If she suddenly made a scene and called Jared out for harassing her, people would just assume she was the one trying to make a move on Jared.

Given their status difference, nobody would believe her anyway.

Natasha held back her frustration, then subtly crossed her legs and shifted her body slightly to the side, deftly freeing herself from his entanglement.

‘What a damn bastard, Natasha cursed inwardly.

Her face flushed with anger.

And with his hand still wandering under the table, her breath quickened, her heart pounding in her chest.

It was pure torture.

Dorothy, who was sitting right next to her, finally noticed that something was off with Natasha.

“Nat, what’s wrong?” Dorothy asked, her voice full of concern.

She glanced at Natasha, noticing the sweat on her forehead. “Is it too warm for you?”

Natasha struggled to steady her breathing, doing her best not to lose it,

Dorothy looked puzzled. “But the air conditioner is on.”

She was actually feeling a bit cold herself, yet Natasha was sweating and looking uncomfortable.

And Natasha’s face was especially flushed, way more than usual.

‘Could it be she’s just nervous sitting so close to Mr. Rundell?’ Dorothy wondered.

That was the only explanation she could think of.

“I… I’m pretty much done. I’ll head back.” Natasha suddenly shot up from her seat, hurriedly tossed out those words, and bolted.

Dorothy stared at her in shock. ‘Nat still had most of her food left, and she was just walking out?’

Now, Dorothy was sure Natasha was totally scared of Jared’s authority.

Natasha rushed back to her hotel room in one breath, gasping for air.

Her heart sank suddenly.

‘Damn it!’ Natasha cursed to herself. ‘Don’t tell me Jared’s touch just set off my crazy symptoms again? If that’s really the case, I’m doomed.

She’d already run out of her meds for her condition.

And now she was stuck out here in Oakna Isle, where there wasn’t even a proper hospital in sight.

If her symptoms flared up again, she’d be totally screwed, no one to help, nowhere to turn..

Not daring to delay any longer, Natasha quickly went into the bathroom to take a shower.

The heat inside her finally started to fade a little.

But it still wasn’t completely gone.

Natasha knew that unless she found a man to help her out, the lingering heat would never fully go away.

And as luck would have it, Jared was here in the area too.

After hesitating for a bit, Natasha decided to overcome it on her own.

She’d just taken a shower, so her symptoms weren’t as bad anymore.

She figured that if she could wait it out a little longer, maybe she’d be able to get through this on her own.

After all, now that she and Percy were divorced, she shouldn’t have any hang-ups in that department anymore.

‘I’ve slept with Jared before and know exactly what that feels like. Quitting all of a sudden like this, my body is bound to protest.

‘But thankfully, I hadn’t hooked up with Jared that many times. If I could tough it out, I’ll probably get through this.’

While she was still thinking, her phone suddenly rang.

It was Dorothy calling, asking if she wanted to go hiking with the group up Oakna Isle.

The company was getting everyone together for a hike this afternoon, planning to pitch tents and crash on the

mountaintop tonight, then come back down in the morning.

Normally, Natasha would definitely have participated in this activity.

But with her condition still lingering, if she joined the hike with everyone else and something happened, or if her symptoms got worse during the trip, she’d be in real trouble.

So Natasha had no choice but to say she wasn’t feeling well and skip the hike this time.
