Chapter 150 She Never Regretted Divorcing Him
The one who spoke was Mya Grosso, Brent’s wife, Percy’s sister-in-law.
She was born into privilege, a distinguished daughter of the Sullivan family.
She was highly respected in the Grosso family.
Her parents-in-law thought highly of her.
As daughters-in-law, the difference in how she and Natasha were treated couldn’t have been more obvious.
“Better late than never. Showing respect for elders isn’t about being early or late,” Natasha replied, effortlessly deflecting the criticism.
“You!” Mya snapped, Jealousy and resentment flashing in her eyes as she stared at Natasha.
Mya had always been jealous of Natasha, ever since they first met.
Logically speaking, as a legitimate young lady from a respected family, cherished and valued in her husband’s home, she had no reason to be jealous of Natasha, the illegitimate daughter whom even her own family looked down upon.
Yet, Mya was jealous of Natasha.
The biggest reason was that Natasha was drop-dead gorgeous.
Mya had all the pedigree and privilege, but her looks were just average.
But honestly, there was more to it. Mya was head over heels for Percy.
“Alright, it’s rare for the whole family to be together. Let’s not argue,” Roxanne said, stepping in to ease the tension.
Mya was her daughter-in-law.
In the past, Roxanne would have definitely sided with Mya and criticized Natasha with her.
But things were different now.
Her son, Brent, was terminally ill and probably wouldn’t make it through the next few years.
Most likely, Percy would be the next head and heir of the Grosso family.
Roxanne was a smart woman.
She naturally understood that things had changed now.
Crossing Natasha now was as good as crossing Percy.
She had no reason to go against the future leader of the Grosso family.
“Yeah, Natasha, just drop it!” Lily chimed in, shooting Natasha a warning look.
Lily only earned her place in the Grosso family thanks to her son.
She always watched Roxanne’s mood and followed her lead, never daring to step out of line.
Now that Roxanne had told everyone to stop arguing, Lily was worried Natasha might say something else and upset Roxanne.
Natasha smirked inwardly, saying nothing.
Seeing Lily act so meek and deferential reminded Natasha of her own mother, Sandra.
‘Is this what it’s like to be the other woman, always feeling second-class?’ Natasha thought. ‘Do they always have to step aside, always tiptoeing around, afraid to make a wrong move?’
That was exactly why Natasha had never wanted to accept Jared.
She never wanted to end up like her mother, Sandra, or Lily, forever living at the mercy of a man and another woman, always tiptoeing around to survive.
Soon, Clayton shifted the conversation with his two sons to other topics.
With his eldest son, Brent, most of the talk centered around his health.
But when it came to Percy, Clayton kept reminding him that he wasn’t getting any younger, and it was high time he had a
kid.
Percy glanced at Natasha and said with a smile, “We’re trying.”
Natasha’s eye twitched.
‘He lies so easily, it’s almost impressive, she thought. ‘Since when were we trying for a baby? We’re already divorced,

seriously.
But Clayton was absolutely delighted to hear that.
He offered a few encouraging words, which only made Mya even more jealous.
Mya had always been infatuated with Percy.
The thought that Natasha and Percy were trying for a baby, which meant they were probably intimate every day, not just once, was something Mya could not accept.
Natasha kept her head down, quietly eating, looking completely unbothered.
She neither nodded nor protested, just stayed silent.
‘Anyway, carrying on the Grosso family bloodline has nothing to do with me,’ she thought.
The family dinner was finally over after a long ordeal.
Clayton summoned Percy to his study upstairs.
Natasha didn’t feel like mingling with the rest of the family.
While Mya was busy trying to please both her mothers-in-law, Natasha was unusually quiet.
She watched Mya play both sides, making herself useful to everyone, and took a silent sip of her wine.
Then she set her glass down and slipped out to the garden for some fresh air.
To her surprise, Mya came after her into the garden.
“You probably haven’t heard yet, but Clayton changed his will. Percy’s been picked as the Grosso family’s successor,” Mya said, her tone tinged with jealousy and smugness.
Natasha just nodded, barely reacting. “Mm.”
Mya kept her eyes locked on Natasha, waiting to see if she’d react at all.
But Natasha was so chill that it was almost weird.
Natasha acted like she couldn’t care less, as if it had nothing to do with her.
“Aren’t you happy for Percy?” Mya blurted out, sounding both shocked and suspicious.
Natasha just turned and shot back, “Shouldn’t you feel bad for your own husband?”
She was basically reminding Mya that her husband was Brent, not Percy.
If Percy was chosen as the family heir, Brent was left out in the cold.
‘As Brent’s wife, shouldn’t Mya be feeling bad for her own man instead of cheering for Percy? Her intention is obvious to everyone, Natasha thought.
Mya was so angry that she was practically choking on her own words.
She looked like she’d just tasted something absolutely disgusting.
On the way back, Natasha didn’t say a word.
Percy glanced at her from time to time in the rearview mirror.
His strong, slender fingers slowly loosened the tie around his neck.
As the car rolled through a quiet, out-of-the-way stretch, Percy finally asked, “So, what did Mya talk to you about tonight?”
Natasha shrugged, “Nothing special. She just told me you’re next in line to take over the Grosso family.”
For her, it really was good news.
Percy had kept their divorce a secret because he was afraid it would ruin his shot at becoming the Grosso family’s heir. Once he secured his position as the successor and gained real power and a voice, he would be able to minimize the impact of the divorce.
At that point, nobody would dare tell him who he could or couldn’t marry.
Even if he wanted to marry his ex-wife’s own sister, nobody would dare question him.
Percy paused for a moment.
He turned to her, his gaze intense. “Are you disappointed? Or do you regret it?”
Natasha knew exactly what he meant.

He was about to become the Grosso family’s heir, but they’d already divorced before that happened.
