Natasha hesitated for a moment. “He’s not too busy.” But honestly, as the CEO, Jared was pretty much swamped every day.

Lizzie pressed on, “Is there another woman around him?”

Natasha froze for a second; she couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy. She knew exactly what Lizzie was trying to find out.

Lizzie just wanted to know if there was a woman Jared was really close to. ‘Should I just admit it was me?’ Natasha wondered.

Things ike that would never happen. Natasha forced a smile. “I haven’t really noticed…”

Suddenly, Lizzie grabbed her hand and pleaded, “Natasha, please help me!”

Natasha was taken aback. “Help you?”

Lizzie looked hurt as she said, “Lately, Jared hasn’t been answering my calls or replying to my messages. I feel like he’s deliberately avoiding me…”

Natasha’s gaze shifted. “Maybe he’s just got a lot on his plate lately.”

Lizzie asked, still unsure, “Busy? Is he really that swamped?”

Natasha replied, “Yeah, he really is always busy…”

As soon as Natasha finished speaking, Lizzie’s sharp eyes spotted the jewelry box sitting on the CEO’s desk. Without hesitation, Lizzie rushed over and popped the box open.

She moved so fast that Natasha didn’t even have time to stop her. “This… Isn’t this the Rundell family’s heirloom bracelet?” Lizzie cried out, her voice trembling with disbelief.

Her eyes were filled with disbelief and astonishment. If she wasn’t mistaken, this emerald bracelet was the Rundell family’s heirloom, only given to the matriarch of each generation.

She’d seen it with Luna before. ‘Why is it suddenly here in Jared’s office?’ Lizzie wondered, feeling a wave of confusion. ‘Is he planning to give it to another woman?’

“Where’s Jared?” Lizzie gripped Natasha’s shoulders, asking anxiously.

Natasha looked stunned. “I don’t really know, I think he might be in the conference room…”

Before Natasha could even finish her sentence, Lizzie had already flung the door open and rushed out. ‘Lizzie must be to grill Jared, Natasha thought.

“I never take back what I give,” Jared said, his voice firm yet gentle as he closed the distance between them.

“But…” Natasha started to protest, but before she could finish, Jared’s lips captured hers; hot and demanding, cutting off any words.

Before she could even react, his tongue parted her lips, tasting the sweetness of her mouth, exploring her with reckless hunger.
