Chapter 159 Her Body Desires Him Deeply
The atmosphere in the office was electric. Right outside, Lizzie was still pressing Leigh for answers about their CEO’S whereabouts.
After all, Lizzie was a socialite and the Hopkins family’s heiress, so Leigh didn’t dare cross her. It wasn’t until Derek arrived just in time and talked her down that Lizzie finally left.
Once Natasha heard Lizzie was finally gone outside, she could finally relax. Jared wasn’t ready to stop, but Natasha shoved him away with all her strength.
“That’s enough, isn’t it?” she said. If he kept kissing her like this, she could barely take it anymore. She pointed out that it was the middle of the day and that they could not just hook up in the office.
“It’s never enough; I could kiss you forever and still want more,” Jared said.
He gently cupped her chin, his gaze locked onto hers. Then he moved in, ready to claim her lips again.
But Natasha dodged him, turning her face away so he couldn’t kiss her. “If you want kisses, you’ll have to wait until tonight at your place,” she teased.
Jared paused, caught off guard. “Wait, what did you just say?”
Natasha turned to face him, her eyes sparkling. “I said, if you want kisses, you’ll have to wait until tonight at your place.”
Jared’s heart skipped a beat. He was stunned and thrilled.
Natasha saw Jared just sitting there in silence, not answering for ages. She thought that he wouldn’t have time, so she hurried to add, “If you’re busy, we can just forget it.”
He was the one who said he still wanted to kiss her. She kept making excuses, trying to dodge him, and she’d already decided not to let things go any further between them. But that kiss just now had ignited a fire inside her.
Natasha suddenly realized a scary truth. Her body was totally hooked on him now. Every time he kissed or touched her, she felt a rush; her whole body just lit up for him.
She was leaving in a few months anyway. By then, she wasn’t planning to stay in touch with the Whittier family, much less him.
She saw no reason to hold herself back any longer and considered simply taking what she wanted. It would satisfy him while meeting her own needs as well, making it the best of both worlds, where both of them got what they desired.
“I’ll be waiting for you!” Jared said, his voice full of anticipation.
Worried she might back out, Jared suddenly pulled her in, wrapping his arm tightly around her waist. His grip was so firm and commanding that she had no chance to slip away.
Natasha blinked in surprise. ‘Did he just agree?’ she thought.
“Let me go,” she said. She tried to pull away from him. But Jared just held her even closer, refusing to let her go.
Jared, thrilled, leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. Natasha’s lips locked tightly with his again, their kiss passionate and close. After another heated kiss, they finally broke apart.
Jared took the emerald bracelet out of the box and personally slipped it onto her wrist. The bracelet’s vivid green hue stood out beautifully against Natasha’s skin. It gave her an extra touch of luxury and beauty.
But even with all its beauty, Natasha still didn’t plan on wearing the emerald bracelet. “This is just too precious. Since it’s the Rundell family’s heirloom, you really should keep it for yourself,” she said.
She hurried to remove it and return it to him. If it were just a regular accessory, she might’ve let it slide. But this emerald bracelet was so expensive and special that she just couldn’t accept it.
Jared reached out just in time to stop her. “Wear it. Don’t even think about taking it off,” he said. His tone made it clear he wasn’t taking no for an answer.
Natasha furrowed her brows, still hesitant. “But…”
Jared locked eyes with her. “Who told you it was an heirloom?”
Natasha said, “Lizzie saw it when she dropped by your office earlier; she was the one who said it was a family heirloom.” Jared’s gaze darkened as he countered, “How would she even know what the Rundell family heirloom is?”
Natasha couldn’t help but ask, “But isn’t she your fiancée?” Lizzie was quite close with his mother and had likely seen it before.
Jared fixed his eyes on her. “I’m going to say this one more time: Lizzie is not my fiancée.”

Natasha stayed silent, not saying a word. She kept a straight face, showing nothing on the surface. But inside, she couldn’t shake her doubts.
‘Is she really not his fiancée?’ Natasha wondered. ‘If she’s really not, then why does she keep showing up in his office? And why does she always present herself as his fiancée to everyone?’
Natasha said, “Either way, whether this emerald bracelet is your family’s heirloom or not, I can’t accept it.” She insisted with extra determination.
Jared’s handsome face darkened. “Why are you so against it?”
‘She’s so unwilling to accept my kindness, but she’s okay with being close to me tonight?’ Jared wondered.
Natasha said, “I don’t like just accepting gifts from men.” Especially since she was planning to spend the night with him.”
If she took the emerald bracelet, it would feel like she was trading herself for it. If she didn’t accept it, then their relationship would just be a casual hookup; each of them getting what they wanted, nothing more.
Jared raised an eyebrow. “You really shouldn’t just accept gifts from other men, but I’m the exception.”
In his mind, he was already her man. Giving her gifts just felt natural to him. He liked her, so of course, he wanted to treat her well.
He’d just heard from Nicolas that, apparently, women go crazy for jewelry. Jared was even thinking about dropping a fortune at an auction to snag her some exclusive, limited-edition pieces.
But the other night, he went back to the Rundell family for dinner with his mom. And she started in on him about marriage
again.
She even brought out the emerald bracelet, saying it had been handed down from his grandmother. She was just waiting for him to find someone, so she could hand down the emerald bracelet to her future daughter-in-law.
Jared took the opportunity to ask, “Is this the kind of thing every woman would like?”
His mom was certain. “I’m telling you, no woman could resist this bracelet.”
So Jared grabbed the emerald bracelet and had Derek deliver it to Natasha for him. He hoped that if she accepted the gift, she’d finally accept him, too.
And just a day after Jared had Derek deliver the emerald bracelet, Natasha surprised him by reaching out first, telling him she’d come over to his place tonight. But what really threw him for a loop was that she actually didn’t want the bracelet
after all.
